CIV Gold!

I'd just like to throw out some 2 cents.

there are a lot of LHs that use the same animations (we only have the firaxis ones after all). For some of the more obvious ones I recommend that the greeting and affirmative actions be swapped (rename the files). it would add a little more diversity and the animations should convey similar ideas.

You mean to swap the greeting and affirmative anim with each other, or to change both of them to other leaders animations?
The second would be better and makes much more sence, but I think I read before that not every leader can have any other leader's anims.
Furthermore, if I remember correctly most leaders can have only a few other animations.
If this is the case, we would need a guide or something for this...

So it is absolutely true, too many Lhs for a few animations.
Probably it would mean much to change the greeting and affirmative animation of some leaders, but I don't know what anims can be used for that

Ekmek has a excel chart of all the LH animations and their possible combos in his LH tutorial thread, either there or somewhere else.

What Ekmek was saying was that even if it is impossible to switch animations for a leader, at least switching the greeting and affirmitive (or even the friendly, furious, or negative actions, depending on how "interesting" and "appropriate" they are) would make the leaders slightly "different" than the old lLH they were based on.

Oh, than he meant both of my options :)
Thx cybrxkhan, I will soon try to find those chart, and check the animations...

I have found the chart extremely useful when making my own leaderheads, and I must thank all the modders who collaborated to make it possible. Don't take it for granted! :)

I must say that in many cases animations from two LHs cannot be combined. I mean you can't use some animations from one LH and some from another- you have to change everything.

I found it. It is truly an amazing and complete work!
If anyone else is interested, it is right here

Hmm, not good news at all...
What do you mean by many ceases though? Is there a list of anims which can be combined? Or do you know some of them?

That isn't necessarily true, my Pyrrhus LH uses mixed animations.

Although in most cases you are correct.

I don't really remember everything I tried, but you should see what it does. You can look at my Jayavarman as an example of animations that don't necessarily work together, but are still passable (his greeting is from another leader, and all other animations are Mao's).

Alright, than I suppose thats what Ekmek does with the animations of his new LHs.
Custom animation means he mixed 2 or more leaders anims...

It would be really good to know which anims can be mixed without any problems, but I guess there isn't too much experince with that yet :S

No, custom animations means new animations. Ekmek is experimenting with editing the animations as far as I understand.

Yeah I've been editing animations to either get rid of ploblems or make them more unique. its still a learning process. attached are two pictures to get you there. pay attention to the red marks. to get to pose mode click on the skeleton. to make changes to a bone click to a scene and click that bone and move it or clear its movement. then press "i" (insert key i guess thats what they call frames) choose LocRotScale. I'll try to add it to my tut and it would be interesting to see what scaling during an animation would be like

Is this as complicated as it looks?

well its not an exact science. its actually fairly easy to edit an animation - like moving a bone or not having something move etc. BUT creating from scratch seemed pretty hard like trying to get pacal to do the caesar salute. but if i put time into and actually edited the x,y,z values instead of moving it by hand/mouse it would be better. the easiest thingis to "clip animation" change where it starts and ends. that could do a lot for custom greetings.
