Civ IV: Beyond the Sword Info Center

@Thunderfall...

...I thought it was supposed to be Hammurabi, but I thought I read on the front page, and again on the BtS Screenshots section that it was labeled Gilgamesh. Was these labeled differently originally, or am I just reading way to many civ articles today?
You were not hallucinating. I was not sure at first and labeled it as Gilgamesh. :)

what a cool way for take2 to suck more money from their customers without addressing the MAF bug which prevents people who like to play epic games on high end machines. If you like small quick games, this surely looks promising, if you like large games, with many civs on huge maps and many turns, this will even enhance your MAF experience making your game completely unplayable :( i wonder what those people at take2 are doing by telling firaxis to supply more money sucking codes to the customers and not adressing the real bugs and fix them :( *sights*
civ will die if take2 continues this path.

So where did you get that piece of info from? There's been no mentioning of tweaks so far except for the AI. But I can't imagine they let the chance pass to beat two flies- as in, they will probably include engine tweaks. If they don't, the community has got to make itself heard pre-patch. No reason to be so pessimistic just yet.

South germany, the MAF is a bug which has been killing games of tousands of players since the release in November 2005, we're now in May 2007, and the MAF is still around. It was there already in Civ IV 1.00, in Civ IV 1.09, in Civ IV 1.52, in Civ IV 1.6x, in Civ IV Warlords , and now in Civ IV Warlords 2.08 it's still there, and the only thing i see is people still mention it, still complain, i personally get them on large games(UNMODDED) and while sending all my info to take2 support, including stack calls reports etc, the only thing those take2 guys tell me is that they don't understand c++, they don't understand stack calls, and whatever is causing the MAF, it's just my problem, not theirs..that's the true fact of take2 support...I offered them to use Radmin or Remote desktop and see for themself what happens on my computer(that i truly get a MAF on unmodded civ!) but they refuse, they say they don'
t want to give support on it..it's my problem and that of the tousand other players, and has been our problem ever since civ has been releeased in november 2005...give me any reason why after almost 2 years Hope, i should not loose hope by now and not beeing pessimistic?

All i see is that they release stuff to suck more money, but not adressing real bugs. all the bugs they ever fixed, were already fixed by the modding community anyway, the only thing the modding community can't fix are "exe" bugs like the MAF, yet here where we need true support they say:"your problem"...give me 1 statement from take2 where they say:"we will give you support" yeah, when you want to buy the game they promise you that, once you gave your money, you'll have 0,0 support..

sorry, but with civ3 my experience with firaxis was top! ever since take2 leads the branch, i only get NO support ..i hope take2 goes broke and they stop to exist and firaxis can continue the game on their way and i finally can contact people at firaxis and not have to talk to those people at take2 who say themself:"they don't understand programming languages" what kind of support is that?

Methos i would suggest to cut supply truck from New Units and to leave that feature just to epic game new units.Perhaps scenario new units could be grouped under a "Scenarios Units".
Also High Powered Artillery is the same of Mobile Artillery!?

Best place to put supply truck would be under Charlemagne scenario in the scenarios category, since it's in just that scenario.

And I agree High Powered Artillery is the same as Mobile Artillery. Better to use "Mobile Artillery" since it's mentioned in a newer preview.

In one of my edits I did remove high-powered artillery, but put it back later. It's removed again.

Supply train is also fixed.

Tactical Nukes are also named 2 times:
-Low Powered Tactical Nukes and Tactical Nukes

It should be just Tactical Nukes

Thanks Methos. Another thing you may want to do is have two lists under Civilizations and Leaders. One list for "The 10 New Civilizations". Another list for "New Leaders for Existing Civs". That should make it clear at a glance which civs are new, without making the text bold.

Fixed, thanks.

Done, though I'll probably work more on it later.

New buildings section ?

I agree, but currently I'm not sure enough have been listed to create it just yet. I'll check later. Thanks. Edit: Scratch that, I'll make it anyway, though it'll be later today before I can get it posted.

Hey Methos - thanks for putting this together!

I remember when we were awaiting the release of Civ IV, the "Info Center" was maintained by adding a yellow "New" tag to show us what had been updated since the last edit. Could you include some kind of marker to show us where you've updated this text?

Thanks for keeping us current on BTS!

Thanks for the work. Pacal the Great should still be added as a new leaderhead for the Mayas. He was confirmed here .
Bird Jaguar would have been a better choice. :D

This is a list of Mayan ruler I compiled a year ago, maybe it will help GO or someone else :

Spoiler :
Copan :
- Yax K'uk Mo' ( Quetzal Macaw )
- Yax Pak
- ( Eighteen Rabbits )

Naranjo :
- K'ak-Til

Palenque :
- Kuk-Balam
- Ol Nal (female leader)
- Sac Kuk (femaleleader)
- Pakal
- Chan Bahlum

You should add:

Yaxchilán--Yaxuun B’alam IV ('Bird Jaguar IV'; 752-768)

And his relatives before and after.
