Civ IV + DoC + Steam = :(

Hey all, coming back to this mod on a brand new comp, and since I lost my discs in the move over to the new house I decided to just pay the $15 for it on steam and then downloaded the SVN for DoC. Now before when I played, I always had to double click the WBSaves from my desktop to get the mod to work (when I would load the mod in game all it would let me do was load saved games and load the default scenarios.) Well now, the .CivBeyondSwordWBSave files aren't associated with Civ IV so I can't seem to get it to load at all. Anyone have any suggestions?

I had a similar problem a while ago, though not through Steam. Remember to re-download 3.19 for BTS.

I bought mine through steam and I had to do it myself.

RE-bought the game through Steam and have no problems with DoC or SVN. If you aren't offline all the time, Steam will auto update, though the original download is sometimes dubious.

Well see, it's already fully updated, and runs really, really well, it's just that the WBsaves aren't associated with Civ. And since I use steam I do not have a Civ IV exe, so when it asks me to open with a program I really can't seem to do anything with it.

Try just loading the mod from the game itself.
I've almost never run the mod from a WorldBuilder save.

Alright I've reinstalled, reloaded the SVN.

The file path reads as:
C:\Users\Sigurd\Documents\My Games\beyond the sword\MODS\RFC Dawn of Civilization\PublicMaps

After loading the "RFC Dawn of Civilization" Mod, I am presented with only 3 options highlighted; Load Game (empty), Beyond the Sword Content (nothing fruitful there), and Play a Scenario (inside which the only option is WBQuickSave)

Any thoughts?

Copy the scenario into the worldbuilder saves map?

You actually do have the executable on your computer. This is the path the to it:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Sid Meier's Civilization IV Beyond the Sword\Beyond the Sword\Civ4BeyondSword.exe

Well thank you for showing me the path on that, I did successfully find and associate the file with Civ IV BTS, but it's won't load the mod either, it simply loads regular BTS

Make a direct shortcut to DOC. Like so:

"C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\steamapps\common\Sid Meier's Civilization IV Beyond the Sword\Beyond the Sword\Civ4BeyondSword.exe" mod="RFC Dawn of Civilization"

Since you're running the steam version, this should work.

I play DoC through Steam. And I did not have any problems. And I did not have to do any thing special or different if not using Steam to play.
