I have two questions.
1. With a regular keyboard the numpad can be used to quickly move the selected unit, is the any way to replicate this on the MacBook Pro's keyboard.

2. I have been having some issues with graphics where in diplomacy ony the leaders hair, crown, etc. appears on the background. Is there any way to fix this

Note: I have the 15" MacBook Pro with the 2.53 GHz i5 processor.

I didn't do an in depth search, so if either question has been answered already, just direct me there.

The numeric keypad's keys can be replicated with the "fn" key and the 789/uio/jkl keys. It's doable, but not as nice as a dedicated numeric keypad. A lot of times I find myself doing control-click to move to a hex (I think that's a right-click for people with a multi-button mouse).

The 'fn numpad' doesn't seem to work on the new MacBooks. Using the secondary mouse button will probably be easiest, as it is a double tap on the trackpad.

Strange. You might have to adjust a preference. In System Pref-->Keyboard, fiddle with the "Use F1..." preference. I have it clicked on. Other than that, I don't know. My Macbook Pro is the early 2006 version.

Does the keyboard have the numbers printed on the corner of the corresponding keys?
The newer versions don't have that, which could correspond to it no longer being supported.

oops, wrong thread

My recently purchased MacBook Pro has no numbers on the keys, and it is a well-known, and much-lamented, fact across the Interwebs that the embedded numeric key pad has been dropped in the latest MBPs. Here's One example discussion.

Well, that's unfortunate. Did they leave fn + (arrows) = home/end/page up/down? I know for a while those combos worked even though they weren't marked on the keyboard. This may have been 2-3 years ago, though.

It looks as if those are still there. Just tested it in Numbers on both my systems.

Fn+<arrow> on the MBP behaves like the page/home/end keys on my extended keyboard. They do the same on the extended keyboard as well. They are not shown in the Keyboard Shortcuts Prefs panel.

The new graphics update might help
