Civ3 1.29f Patch Coming This Friday!

It's not such a big step, really. It just means 1.22 failed testing. 1.23 failed testing. etc. Actually, some of the builds/changes maybe never made it to testing. In any case, it just means this is the 8th iteration of the code to go to testing since patch 1.21f.

Yeah, I realise that - but since the other patches have only had "minor" revisions to the numbers and still had major gameplay changes, I thought that this might indicate that there were some "tricky" issues that have been sorted out - where there can be multiple initiators for buggy behaviour. I actually thought that the explanation when the last patch cam out was that each revision increment was when a patch went for testing for release.

A legal "add units" command. PLLLLLLEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAASE?

I'm sick if the hacked editor upgrade path error.
It's got to the point where if I'm not allowed to add any of the custom units that people have been building (over 140) without an editor crash, then I really can't be bothered playing Civ3.

Firaxis has said that Add Units will be in it.

I demand them to put in some type of function that allows easier resource finding. I demand that. I know they won't put it in, but I demand it.

PS-Since my demand is obviously never going to be fulfilled, can someone help me fulfill it? Like helping me find that mod that makes resources easier to find? As in coal?
Actually, I'm surprised Thunderfall hasn't responded to this already. ;)

Not that I approve or disapprove of cracks, but since they didn't offer a way to play without the CD (unless you make an image of the CD and store it on your HD and use a program that reads the image like Daemon-Tools and creates a virtual CD-ROM), then I'll let you know where you can find cracks for any game you own.

Obviously, this comes with the disclaimer that you should only do this for games YOU OWN.

Moderator Action: Links to cracks are not allowed on CFC. You are warned to cease posting them at once. One more offense of this nature and you will be banned. This is a no tolerance issue.

I'm afraid that my view of the new patch is somewhat lukewarm. The issue, for me, is that I have added dozens of units (in version 1.21f) and don't want to have to completely re-do all these mods. It took hours of adding and tweaking units, modifying civilopedia text and all the icons. The benefits of the patch will really have to outweigh the time involved in doing that all over again.

If you do upgrade, will you be able to use your old bic files? And will the changes apply to the old bics?

If there were a way of converting the bic file to the new patch, that would be great.

But I'm pretty much adopting a wait-and-see attitude... And not holding my breath...

Level,

In that case, bring it on! And I will make sure to rename civ3mod.bic file. Take note any of you who have also modded that file and have not renamed it.

Although I have made an unoffical fix to the Jet Fighter Attack. I just Hope the people over at Fraxis has made a "offical profesional fixed" Version of the animations. :)

They should fix the " Workers get gunned down by friendly troops after a large nuclear war" problem

I've seen that a few times. MY workers go into their OWN cities and get killed. They must've done a poor job to deserve such a harsh punishment:)

Lol. Maybe they went on strike for higher wages because of the nuclear mess and are banned from the cities until they are done and then when someone attacks or the workers get tired they go into the cities and the guards are like "Oh no you don't!"

:die:

Readme due out later today, hopefully.
