How to change the background to the Civilopedia in Civ4 BTS?

The removal of drm from BtS is great. I hate having to cart my CD around, esp when I'm on my portable.

But, I notice on my computer, that while BtS doesn't need a CD, Warlords and Vanilla Civ still do. I may have messed up things with my installation but before I start reinstalling, do you still need the CD for Vanilla and Warlords?

Anyone else having problems running this? I've downloaded the patch, I run it, it gets to the screen where I press the "Install" button, but then it just goes away and doesn't seem to actually patch anything....am I alone on this one?

I haven't had any problems. It was just install and go. I do have problems with the unofficial patch though.

Yes, the 3.19 Patch is official. Took us all by surprise, actually.

Are there any unnofficial patches like Solver's for 3.19? I want to have the dll gamecore to have up to 50 civs and patch any bugs that may still be out there with this update.

there is - look in the unofficial patches subforum
there are a few 50 civ dlls out there as well.

Does this patch patch up the mods as well?

if you mean the mods that are shipped with the game - then yes.

What does one have to do to patch the mods they got off of CFC? I can't keep track of which ones are 3.19 compatible?

You need to search the forums/downloads to find if they have a newer version or patch. Many of the ones that have their own DLL were not updated, but some have been. 3.19 didn't require any changes to XML, but it significantly changed the DLL infrastructure.

The patch doesn't work me for at all. Downloaded from firaxis site ran the setup.exe and it goes to the install shield screen i press the ok/install button and it all stops. I check my game build and it is still 3.17.

What gives?

did you install the patch with admin rights? i.e. did you right click on the patch installer and choose run as admin?

Yes i tried that and had the same result, nothing.
