The Almighty dF
Pharaoh
Since Civ5 is more than likely just around the corner (as in maybe this year or very early next year), and we've already got threads about basic gameplay changes we want...
Who all do you want to be in Civ5? Like what civilizations with what leaders, and what bonuses should they get?
Rules: No bashing other people for suggesting someone you don't feel should be in the game. If someone wants Steve Irwin of Australia, let them want Steve Irwin of Australia.
This is on top of people we've had from Civ4, except where mentioned otherwise:
America:
Jefferson Personally, I think he's more deserving of a spot than Roosevelt. He needs traits that give bonuses to the economy and the expansion of territory.
England:
Henry VIII It's good to be the king. Come on. Who -doesn't- want to be Henry VIII? You're reading this right now and nodding. Even if you're an anglophobe you're nodding. He'd need empire management and warfare bonuses. Maybe the ability to sleep with female leaders to boost diplomacy.
Japan:
Hirohito It's been fun playing as him in Civ4 mods, and he did have an, albeit negative, large impact on his nation and the world.
Greece:
King Leonidas I'm so going to be flamed for this one. Look, I know Greek history very well, and I know the movie wasn't very historically accurate at all. It wasn't Pearl Harbor inaccurate, but it was still inaccurate. But let's face it, it'd be fun to play as a 300-inspired Leonidas. Maybe a mix of 300's version and the real Leonidas.
Viking:
Leif Ericson Some have suggested making him a Great Explorer unit, I'd much rather seem him as an actual leader. I think he deserves it.
Israel:
Moses Played by Charlton Heston. 'nuff said.
China:
I want a leader from pre-unification China, or at least have them fix the First Emperor.
Egypt:
Just give me more Egyptian leaders. >.> I like playing as Egypt, but I suck as them on Civ4. Partially because they seem like they should start off with Mysticism, because they almost seemed designed around getting an early religion.
Civs I want added but am divided when it comes to what leaders to give them:
Hittites
Phoenicians
Ireland or maybe a group Ireland/Scotland civ
An Australia-Aboriginal civ, maybe
Canada
And I'd like to see the Picts or have a Pict leader added to the Celt civ.
Civ4 leaders that need to be made better:
Washington
Qin Shi Huang
Mongolia as a whole. Come on. -Come on-.
Augustus Caesar. Honestly Ind/Org fits him better than Ind/Imp, although JC is just perfect as he is I guess.
Civ leaders I want removed:
Roosevelt. Jefferson is a better replacement for him.
Stalin. I'd prefer playing as Lenin, really. I know Stalin had more of an impact, it's just a personal preference I guess.
Queen Victoria, Henry VIII is a better replacement and I'd prefer that no Civ have more than three leaders.
I also almost want to say Saladin since he wasn't so much a civilization leader as he was a religious extremist with a large following. I guess that's just semantics, though. If we keep Saladin in, maybe we should add in Lionheart, because it'd be neat to do a little Crusades scenario.
