Civilization IN SPACE!

Scouts should really be allowed to move 2 spaces instead of one. So many turns in the game and Crossroads never met anyone to create crossroads with

The Avower UU for the scout, the Recon Ship, has a move of 2.

The upgraded scout (delta scout) for everyone else also moves at 2. This is not all that useful since by the time you get the upgrade you will have probably already explored half the map.

You can also get the 2nd move from part upgrades (promotions), but it takes 3 since the prereq is the 2nd weapons or the 2nd armor part upgrade. This is relatively difficult to get since scouts rarely survive combat so it often takes free xp from buildings to do it. The Brotherhood can manage it easier than others from the extra 4 free prestige and reduced cost to get part upgrades.

But the first era isn't called the Isolation era for nothing (although the actual reason is that you became isolated from Earth, it also covers being isolated from each other).

Thanks for the info, I think scouts in the advance state of a game is every it as important as early game exploration. Scouts are a main unit in my inventory until they are destroyed by an incoming aggressive force. What would be great is if Scouts were free to maintain!

Scouts are also the only unit that can see the invisible Stealth Ships, so even when the entire map is uncovered they still serve a anti-piracy role.

So... how do we get the resources on the asteroid fields again? with the settler-spacecraft things?

By building a Starbase in their vicinity with a Construction Ship and subsequently building a Mining Facility with another Construction Ship on the resource tile itself.

With great sadness the Forge High Command reports the tragic loss of the exploration vessels Hammer and Drill which have been ambushed and destroyed by terrorists lurking in an asteroid field.

This once again proves Chairman Richards correct in his decision to increase military spending, as if the New Earth Invasion Ship closing in on our system wasn't enough.

hmmm well isnt that a pain in the ass. ok then!

On the bright side you will hardly have to worry about someone pillaging your improvements as Starbases are the strongest units in the game, automatically producing missiles, housing squadrons and capable of unleashing bombardment from afar on enemy fleets. Of course their downsides are that they are immobile and need some time to actually be built, during which they are most vulnerable unless your Construction Ship is heavily escorted, which I would recommend with opportunistic human opponents abound.

Wait what? When? This is absolutely unacceptable!

Don't get too invested into your next turn, we might have to replay it if Tachy indeed did retire. There will be no AI takeovers on my watch.

BAPAPAPAPAPAPAPAP! What is this? Everybody stop what you are doing, Tachywaxon has indeed retired, which means we will have to replay the last turn, be it with them or a replacement.

What is so wrong about 1 AI civ?
