That's a bit of an issue because I know that a modern Turkish civ has been a request for quite some time from esp. Turkish civ community, and I think they'll portray Ottomans as a 2nd age civ too instead of the modern age.
Byzantium also didn't really become Ottomans. They were just replaced by them (tho i guess that applies to a lot). But I don't think Byz into Ottomans will be a thing. They'll probably co-exist in 2nd age. There is also the possibility of a lot of Turkish nomad groups in exploration age like Uzbeks etc. and there's Huns as a possibility for the 1st age. I guess tho with the limited options that we likely are going to see that Mongols into modern Turkey could be a thing for the base game? (there's not really a fitting 3rd age for them).
If they do Ottomans as 3rd age civ, i bet we will see Ataturk at some point as a leader tho.
fully agree with this. by the 19th century (where the Modern era apparently begins in game) the Ottomans were in bad decline. They were a powerhouse around 1400-1700, which aligns with Exploration era (which is looking like roughly 800 - 1800 AD)
The Yuan is part of Chinese history as well. Calling it Mongolia might make it hard to tell for some people, fair.
But Ming, with Zheng He exploration to go find Independent peoples to demand tribute from, sounds like a thing for an expansion. A large market is an opportunity to sell expansions too!
I didn't say it wasn't. But Genghis Khan and Mongolia have been a staple of the game from the beginning, we've already seen Mongolia is in the game, and China has better/more popular alternatives.

I just wanted to add that the Babylon wonder now that I fully see it looks more like Etemenanki and not Ishtar Gate, which might have been a rumour I may have started/added to on Boes' stream when I could only see it from one angle... woops!

But I'm a little confused... Boes in his latest stream (00:47:30 ish) lists the wonders he built and says etemenanki. But the list UrsaRyan gave us doesn't have Etemananki, but it lists Dur-Sharrukin, which could look similar?? I am behind on all the forum chat on this though, would love to hear if someone knows more!
I think I've spotted Persia! That double bull headed Persian Column and the 4 cornered Chaharbagh I think confirm it for me - I just don't see either of those being Assyria or Babylon! Would love thoughts on this.

Ursa Ryan claims he pulled his list from the press build's civilopedia. But that doesn't necessarily mean its complete or up to date. Where does Boes' info come from?

here on stream at 00:46:45 ish he goes into the list of wonders he built, and about a minute after that he says Etemenanki, but he is relying on a reddit post to jog his memory. If only they had invited me I would have remembered every wonder, every river, every mountain XD

They would need to add a lot of Civs per nation for every age to make the experience fun,i wonder if they ll do it instead of just going for the most known ones.
Eg. Mughal India , seems likely for exploration age(based on Red fort) but i would also like to see Chauhan(chahmana) India and Chola india for eg. to increase roleplaying, and add different flavour instead of just a single obvious historical path,i hope they add a lot of civs.
I was initially thrown off by the Hanging Gardens and the Etemenanki (or maybe Dur-Sharrukin) building in the back left. But that column, and I don't really see any other distinguishing art/architecture than the two I pointed out! I just can't imagine they would use the Persian column for another civ??
Awesome! I think the Mausoleum of Theodoric is more "strong evidence" since it was also confirmed by UrsaRyan's video, and if you look at it in that screenshot of the Persian city above, I can't imagine it is anything else!
