Exploration age? I wonder if that’s the name of a specific age or something more to do with a Millennia-style age system? Likely the former.Shawnee is an Exploration Age civilization that excels at utilizing natural resources. Their unique ability, Nepekifaki, gives more food for settlements built on river tiles but slightly reduces food for any cities not built on rivers. Its associated wonder is the Serpent Mound.
Dude, I grew up in SE Ohio and never expected this but it's awesome.
My guess is that it's what they call either the early or the mid gameExploration age? I wonder if that’s the name of a specific age or something more to do with a Millennia-style age system? Likely the former.

I did not see elevation clearly, it could have just been mountains and blocked coast tiles. And I think elevation was a minimum, since I have been expecting a real globe for eons now. Other games already did it.
it does look like either the maya or aztecs are base game this time around, just based off the architecture of some of the civs we sawAt least there's an indigenous North American civ in the base game this time, even if it's day one DLC. That's a step up from Civ6.
Looks like cities are enormous. Or could just be a small portion of the map. With sprawling cities, will the maps be super big now? If not, I feel like cities will either be cramped or civs will be small. I wonder if civ7 will favor "tall" now since the focus will be on a small number of cities but really developed and sprawling.
Overall, civ7 looks gorgeous. I can't wait for the gameplay showcase later to learn more about the actual game mechanics, like diplomacy, combat, etc.
this was one of my primary complaints with civ 6, where the cities were so sprawling it felt like the map was very small in comparison. hopefully map scale is changed here so that cities feel sprawling yet more appropriate, and the countrysides are meaningfulWith sprawling cities, will the maps be super big now?
