Civilization VII Screenshots Thread (Funny, Strange, etc.)

Only commenting on my experience.

The other half of that is that last night was the first time in many plays of Exploration Age that I actually found Distant Land sites that gave me more than 1 - 2 Treasure Fleet/Distant Land Resources. In fact, my 4 Distant Land Settlements each had 2 - 5 Resources in them, which has never happened before. I had the Treasure Fleet line of endeavor finished before I was half-way through the Age, another 'first' for me.

Makes me wonder if there wasn't a Stealth Patch to Distant Land Map Generation sneaked in somehow . . .

I haven't noticed any differences between my games. Maybe you just got unlucky early on?

Always a possibility.

Especially since others have commented on 'map dependent' mechanics in the game, like the Treasure Fleets, which implies, at least, that others have had or seen similar problems with finding 'sweet spots' to make things work.

I managed to get a special event pop-up to appear. The reward is wonderful, but doesn't its title "Conquest of the Old World" contradict the content ("founded on distant soil")?

Spoiler Some said it was a myth and could never happen. :

Conquest of which world, you said.png

The available Founder Beliefs are part of the same pool. Therefore, many are already made unavailable. During a cultural Golden Age, it is possible to take one of your beliefs, but not both.

How did I unlock it? I have no idea.

I have evangelized both the Old World and the New for a long time, oscillating between 70% and 85% believers (depending on the inclinations of my opponents to throw Missionaries at me).

Each new city was immediately converted. I lean more towards a number of converted cities on a given continent, than a given percentage.

I only found Harriet Tubman "the Terrible" in the New World. She once again conquered her neighbor before my arrival. After her obstinacy in wanting to spy on me, in "reviving and sharing her values and her Religion" and other nonsense, I had no other choice but to have to confiscate her settlements. Both her Holy City (Aksum) and her Capital City (Gao).

Is it possible that the reason we cannot convert or raze a Holy City is because it is involved in Narrative Events? Currently, it is possible to purchase or produce Missionaries of our Religion even in cities converted to other Religions.

I prefer this event pop-up to others. Notably:
Spoiler I know! Please stop remind me. :
No Internet Co..png

It's possible that I could literally be living in the Amazon rainforest and my connection is unstable. But is it really necessary to display this pop-up every 60 seconds?!

The worst thing is that the "Challenge" system in the game is dependent on the Internet. I often have to save before I reach a milestone in case the game refuses to grant me completion of a Challenge.

During my last gaming session, I played the Incas. I was careful. Except that I hadn't noticed that the game hadn't validated the construction of Machu Pikchu. I had to replay the game from the beginning to validate it. Joy!

"Yes, because government regulations demand that we only build factories in cities with train stations."
This joke is catching a good point: harbors have to be a trigger of supply network just like train stations.

This game is mystical. What is it about this Bath in the 2nd rung out says it should be raking in more science than the Golden Age Academy in a quarter directly adjacent to the Palace? I have no idea :crazyeye:.
Spoiler 8 Science Bath :

Edit: I think there are Specialists there. It sure be nice to get a summary report on that by hovering over it :).

Volcanoes towns get some pretty nice yields, although (I think) you have to keep tge improvement in working order to get them.

When you put it that way, it makes me realize that Ea-Nasir was a trailblazer, an conman paving the way for countless conmen in the millennia to come. He was the creator of unethical practices as a business strategy.

I guess what I’m trying to get at is that with the definition of leaders expanded, I see no better time for Ea-Nasir to make his Leader debut :mischief:

Finally, a Mesopotamian rep for Zaarin to be proud of.

From this point on Ea-Nasir shall join my proposed list of April Fools leaders (both purely fictional and actually added if one gets determined enough)

He should
1) Always start near copper
2) Offer everybody fantastic deals with 50/50 chance of actually following them or horribly screwing you over, hence offering an interesting strategic gamble
3) Have an agenda respecting leaders who swindle like him and disrespecting naive ones
4) If the above agenda is too hard to code or the second one is allowed then: respects leaders the more copper they have
5) When he declares war the vine boom sound effect should play
6) It's a shame the game no longer has civ5-6 style leader screens because then we could use this as a diplomacy screen:

Right. A new religion is founded, in a new settlement on distant soil. As it spreads, it conquers the old beliefs of the old homelands!
