Civilization VII Screenshots Thread (Funny, Strange, etc.)

Kelantan is a Malaysian state. Why is it part of some Civ's City-list? Is this Siam?
Majapahit. I'm not sure how fitting that is. It's probably not their core territory, but was inside their greater realm?
City lists are often a mess, but I would have guessed/hoped that the SEA ones were selected with more care than others.

In general, the most frequent reason for me to go at war is because a dman AI settled in the worst place and prevent me from getting back my treasure fleets (such as closing navigable rivers and so on)...

You are aware that you can just ask for open borders, right?

And they can say no.

True, and at that point I get going for war. But I feel like it's pretty rare for them to actually do so unless you're already on bad terms.

Not exactly what you want to see when attacking a Japanese leader as the Mongols...

Somehow I question whether this Amphitheater should be getting extra culture when it's so close to those toxic volcanic fumes...
No so sure about that. I went to a lot of concerts/performances in the modern version of an amphitheatre back in my college days in which the theatre was full of 'toxic fumes' and it just mellowed everybody out . . .

It's genuinely not uncommon for people to just live on the slopes of stratovolcanoes.

In general the danger from volcanoes is a bit overstated in people's minds in the first place. The vast majority of volcanic eruptions don't cause damage beyond a dusting of ash more than 3-5 km away from the erupting vent.

The total number of deaths from volcanic eruptions in the 21st century (so 25 years) is about 4000 (pessimistic estimate), with three quarters of those coming from one single eruption and another twenty percent coming from just three others. For comparison, in that same span there have been 20 earthquakes, 15 floods and 15 hurricanes with individual death tolls over 1000.

Meanwhile, there are only 31 volcanic eruptions in recorded history with an estimated death toll that surpasses 1000.

Very long river! Plenty of room to send my navy up there and conquer it all.

Treasure it. In 50+ started maps and a dozen complete playthroughs I an count the number of long rivers like that on the fingers of one hand with digits left over. One DLC really has to include some much better map scripting, for better continents (inland seas, bays, gulfs, real mountain ranges?), better-distributed biomes (Less Tundra, More Forest!) and at least a few longer rivers (cue Hatshepset screaming for her Nile, Tecumseh growling for his Mississippi).

The Qing people must've been so happy and thought themselves spared they saw my navy withdraw from the Wei river...

Might have gone a bit overboard on nukes near the end there...

Finished my domination run as Xerxes (Persia > Mongolia > America) where I only allowed myself to gain new settlements by conquering them. Prioritised killing leaders, eliminating Pachacuti in antiquity, Jose I think in exploration and chasing Ibn off the homelands continent in exploration then finishing him off in the modern era. Could've also chosen to win with economic and cultural victories, both of which were easier with less competition.
