CivIVNES

Thought I throw in another story as well as the answer to Civorian League offer.

Targeni Army
Spoiler :
With the discovering of horseback the Targeni tribe master the art of fight on their horse. The Old Grand Chief use this skill to create the fearsome Horsespawn riders (Decide to call them that intend of horse squad). The mens were taught to fight in that the rider and the horse were one being intend of two. A Horsespawn rider is chosen from a group of his peers in their village at the age of 15 to 16 year old and trained by veteran riders. After some time of training a Horsespawn rider give a horse that the elder tribeman believe to fit the rider's character. After the choosing the horse remain with the rider for life.

Civorian League Offer
A horsespawn rider arrive at the city of Akaria to deliver a message to the people of Akaria.

"People of the Civorian League your offer has been heard by the Grand Cheif." said the Horsespawn rider.

"People of Akraria I Grand Cheif Akir see that you dont want war and I agree with you but sadly I must for the well-being of my people". "These gems that you offer as tribute doesnt not have the abilities to house our people" What we need is land." "That is why I send this messager with a counter offer." "I will halt the attack if the city of Akaria is given to the Targani people." "The citizen will move out for my people to settle" "If this messager is not back at our home with immediate reply I will believe that the Civorian League want to go to war."

After rider saying that the rider stand outside the city to wait for an answers.

And on the seventeenth day of the month of teeth, in the eighty-ninth year of the age of the laughing bear, Olkan the Moon descended upon Ak'nakal, assuming control of His earthly vessel. There he paired with Nitak, the Unwavering Star, and from their union was spawned Hut'anak, Prince of the Earth.

As the Moon faded to darkness and the Unwavering Star faded below the black horizon, the Prince waxed. In time, he would come to master Ak'nakal, and upon his generation's completion, transfigure into Olkan himself.

Such is the way of the world. So has it always been. Son becomes father, ever with the eternal mother.

Spoiler :
Focus on cultural development, see if we can found a religion or build a wonder or two. :)

Almost forgot to do orders.

Spoiler :
Seeking to secure a strong backbone on the Taoron culture, the High King institues a policy on development and passivity towards neighbors while developing a written and spoken language to be taught in all cities and places and to secure a policy of spreading the Taoron culture throughout the Empire. Expansion has taken up too much time, and has made the nation barely a confederacy of loosely allied city states, which the High King and the kings below him plan to fix and adjust over time.

I have eight ordersets, I believe, which leaves erez, Omega, North King, terrance, and ChiefDesigner another day to provide me with the input which I will lovingly mold into a coherent sculpture of history.

Omega has requested an extension until Friday and I'll give it to him because he's been such a good player so far. :)

The Civorian League Accepts

The city of Akaria, or as it is now known, Akraria, was in uproar from this announcement. On one hand, their honor as a civilized people are at stake. On the other hand, they weren't sure which side of a club is for hitting, and which side is for holding.

Finally, a representative from Civoria, named Yarro arrives. "As we all know, Akaria is the second oldest and most glorious city of the League. From Akarian fields come exotic plantation crops and produce. However, Akaria is not the League. If we stand here at Akaria, all of Civoria will fall. And the only truly civilized people on this world shall perish forever.

We recognize your difficulty, therefore, we are willing to go to drastic circumstances. All who leave freely shall be given treasures and land to settle two new cities to the east and wast of Akaria. Tools, cattle, resources. All you shall ask shall be delivered for our friends in their most grave of times.

However, those who do not freely depart shall be convicted of treason and enslaved and forced to work for their wiser Akarians. Civoria shall not have the entire world suffer from the stubborness of a few.

All of Civoria's resources are on hand so that her most loyal citizens will not suffer unduly for their most valued sacrifice."

Spoiler Story-Style Orders :

We shall have peace.
We shall institute slavery in these dark days.
From the ashes of old Akaria shall be born 2 new cities. Yekaria and Rhubania.
From our new resources we shall build an army the Targeni shall fear to face.
Our culture shall be so that Akarian Targeni shall soon admire the Civorians.
However, the League at its heart desires nothing more than mere expansion. Land. LAND. LAAAANDDDDD!

Spoiler Civ-style Orders :

Adopt SLAVERY
Use the whip to found two more southern cities. One at the Horses. One at the Copper.
Give Akaria to the Targeni as they have demanded. DO NOT COMPLETE THE AKARIAN LIBRARY. I shall not have them get free culture. Let them be culture starved and suffer revolts! Also, don't give them Akaria until they have in game sent a horseman over. I want to squeeze as much from that city as I can before I hand it over, hopefully 2 settlers to match the RP. However, the actual route is up to you.
Although we shall use the Horses and the Copper to build a true start of a real army, the real effort shall remain relentless settlement. By the next turn, they shall mourn to have spared us!
In Game wise, we will run a Specialist Economy based on scientientsits in Karosia, and with our capital spewing out gold to fund our roleplay-generated REX.

My name is Suppanokum, and I am High Chief of the Kappanoka.

If you know my name and do me well, smile. For when I greet you with an open hand, it is as if all the bounty of the world is opened to you. I am a master of many lands. Where my grandfather and great-grandfather knew beauty in their halls and plenty in their stores, I have expanded it tenfold. When men feast in my halls, they eat not only crab, but pork, and tamales of amaranth and sumpweed. When men drink to my health, they toast me with the finest wines of the north.

If you do not know my name, fret. For when I greet you with a closed fist, it is as if you face the fury of an angry god. Once they called me Chief of Yutki. Now they call me High Chief of the Kappanoka. I rule all the lands south of the Ukmal, and even the Akanakaw do me homage. The spears and swords of my people have been shaken across hill and vale, from plain to ocean. The very oceans call my name.

My name is Suppanokum, and I am High Chief of the Kappanoka.

~ Inscription from a pillar in Yutki.

Spoiler :
The dominion of Yutki was fleeting, but Suppanokum made the most of it. The High Chief, most influential since the great Tippanaw, quickly established rule over the other two cities in the Kappanoka, and sent raiders against the Ak'Nakal for a time before it all came crashing down after his death.

Nevertheless, his rule did mean that the old line of High Chiefs in Kappanoka proper, who had been forced to kowtow to another chief for the first time in centuries, forced themselves into action. An attempt was made to consolidate their own hold over the western cities, and while Yutki held an initial monopoly on the technology of iron, the metal proved plentiful and all three cities had roughly equivalent access. Thus, Kappanoka, as the largest of the urban centers, raised a tremendous series of armies -- more important were their force levies of workers, who soon constructed a long road system to link their cities together.

The new infrastructure united the southern Kappanoka into a coherent political unit for the second time, and this one would prove more durable. Trade flourished with the Ak'Nakal, as they found that rather more profitable than the earlier raids had been; Suppanokum had only reached the Ak'Nakal hinterland, after all.

Meanwhile, the northern Senedewick would establish their own offshoot of civilization; they clung to the forested hills, and quickly gained a monopoly on the lovely wine crop there. More colonists would eventually secure the copper to the west, but they could not really hope to hold off Kappanokan armies if the southerners really desired to consolidate their hold over the whole civilization, as happened a few times...

Nevertheless, a united empire proved far too large to effectively govern, and north and south -- for better or for worse -- would drift further apart.

Spoiler :
Pop a city to the South East of Faust near the Copper. If there are any inhabitants of the region, kill them so we can take the area for ourselves. Send a work party to connect the copper mines, and to connect the new city to Faust.

After this, we want the Jaegers to start building up their army.So I guess an early focus on Expansion but then shifting to Power, though I imagine Trost will solely focus on Power.

New names for cities I’d say are Fiore and Sabst along with Ponzdam and Zerbst.

The daughter of waters, reading the rivers, said: There will be danger. There will be the coming of alarming news.

Spoiler :
History begins with the assembly of the First Host -- according to legend, ten thousand strong men and women, with priestesses to lead them. Paths were built to ease their travel, spears and axes were forged for their use, sheep and horses were slaughtered and salted.

Here, the first raids against the Targani begin -- they must be kept from exploiting their copper and tin, lest they grow too strong and covetous.

Diviners speak of strange dreams, of the secrets held in cast metal and of the birth of a stern woman, a giver of laws. While our wise men have other priorities, our oracles may find those secrets unlocked to them.

Should the secrets of cast metal be revealed, begin building forges and homes for smiths.

The faith of the Thousandfold Waters begins with Mazu (lit. "Mother-Ancestor"), venerated as the patron of the seas, prayed to by sailors, fishermen and their wives.

Mazu, it is said, had two daughters -- Thousand Mile Eye (Wanlimu), who saw in her glass the patterns of the winds and the coming of the rains; she was the first teacher of the Thousandfold Waters, who laid down the philosophy and ethics of the faith. She taught that as the waters depart, so do they return; thus it must be for the Children of the Waters. They grow, they depart, but always they return, to the home, the family, and to Chaoyang, where Wanlimu gained enlightenment through contemplation of the waters and the world. Her daughters, adopted and biological alike, became the first daughters of the waters -- keepers of shrines and watchtowers along the Chaoyang coast.

Mazu's second daughter, it is said, departed before she was born, but one day, she will return; that time will be a golden age of man.

I lack input from erez and Omega. Omega has requested an extension until Friday, which he has.

erez, however, hasn't shown as far as I know. To avoid a repeat of the last debacle, I will consider applications for Tahnek rather than simply taking the first person to post. Alternatively, if erez sends orders in the next 24 hours, he can keep his spot.

But act quickly, please.

Spoiler Orders :
In this turn, as previously, the Abeille culture continues to remain devoted to Faith, particularly to the goddess Marias. As of this time, the once plentiful pantheon had developed into a virtual monotheistic religion. Only Roche and Torde (see previous story) would have any serious worship devoted to them, with Torde only being relevant due to being the husband of Marias. The other gods are still reconised, but are regulated to only be told in tales of great adventure, not adoration.

The discovery of massive gold reserves to the south to Abeille quickly took the interest of the entire nation. The unclaimed desert, once considered a massive wasteland, represented a massive opportunity for expeditions to be sent to colonize the untouched wilderness. Freemen of lower classes found the goldmines to be an excellent way to quickly become rich, while nobles who otherwise would be far out of succession to get their own land could stake their own claims within the desert. Thus caused a massive migration into what is now known as the Le Desert Iça. Boom towns would be established where gold is found, only to be abandoned once the reserves are depleted.

The building of the Grand Temple of Marias in Ruche is considered to be the epitome of not only the superiority of the Marias and the Abeille faith, but of Abeille in general. Being built out of marble and rare materials not present in the homelands, along with the gold decorations in the south, the Grand Temple in one way symbolizes the continued awaking of the Abeille out of their self-imposed isolationism. While still officially too proud to associate itself with the surrounding barbarians, the ongoing missionaries brought with them trade, and soon Abeille merchants made fortunes buying and selling wares to the mysterious barbarians. While still being passive Passive, Abellie is much more open than it used to be to the outside world. In particular, defending its interests in Le Desert Iça was paramount; no one wanted the Southern Barbarians to take control of the region

Try and change capitals (doesn't matter to which of the other cities, I prefer the Vekora

Other than that prefer increasing production over expansion. And increase exploration over military units.

I'm kind of in a no want to write or do anything else mood so I'll try to get things written as soon as possible.

As a continuation of the expansion program set forth by his father, Esc I Lexing, Esc’s third grown son, Admont Escsson, would command a ship filled with warriors and settlers across the Straits of Shepleigh to establish a base on the island to aid future settlement. Only fishermen in search of new shoals of cloams have ventured near Shepleigh, and many of them reported towers of smoke pillowing out of the pines, clear signs of habitation. Moreover, cloamsmen have reported increased harassment by ships with no colors in increasing frequency, a sign of something sinister.

These natives of Shepleigh, Sheplings, have existed outside the collective consciousnesses of the rulers who’ve sat on the Cholk Throne. The harassment was nothing more than a nuisance, nothing unlike in other borderlands. However, after several cloamsmen reported these raids in the straits, it was decided that civilization ought to be brought to these Sheplings. A sturdy boat was launched from Clifton wharf filled with Admont Escsson, Admont’s son Cinebalt, the sherman of Shepleighshere, fifty warriors, and several maids.

It should be noted that the sherman of Shepleighshere, an elder named Duda Colasson, possessed the title in spirit only and never before had set foot on Shepleigh. The title was bestowed upon him as an honorary title more than anything, as no Cliftonlings, besides pirates and vagabonds, lived on Shepleigh. Hence, the sherman of Sheleighshere possess no clout, political or otherwise. He did sit on the meetings of the members of court which were periodically summoned. Hence, the title was given by the rulers of Clifton to particularly members for their lifetime achievements.

Regardless, Duda Colasson was not infirm; he was an active, patient, and wise man, contrasting greatly with the brashness of Admont and the warriors on board. The warriors manned the oars and set sail for Shepleigh, which are barely visible on the horizon from the highest hill in Clifton. The crew sailed south for a bay on Shepleigh known as Kese. The bay provided satisfactory shelter for the vessel from the wind and waves. The crew disembarked.

Admont proclaimed the entire island as part of the Cliftonling matrimony. The land nearby Kese was flat and forested, giving the men many resources to construct the first dwellings in the newly founded town of Keswick. Several native shepe were found by the encampment and were quickly slaughtered for meat and wool. Several more were kept in pens.

The first several days on island were about making sure that the foundations of Keswick, both literal and figurative, were strong. The galley was sent back to Clifton with Admont’s assurance that the land was peaceful and fit for settlement. Duda Colasson quickly set up his office of sherman in one of the first buildings built on the island.

Meanwhile, Admont’s son, Cinebalt, seventeen, lead a scouting expedition towards the interior of the island to located any water resources and natives. The party reached the south shore of the island, to an endless ocean. Cinebalt entered the water and exclaimed in the Cliftonling language:

“My, such enormity! May Clifton rule all the land this water touches!”

The waters were named the Faring See. The party continued along, enjoying their long walk on the beach. A warrior remarked that the population of craebs was nothing like he’d ever seen. Indeed, the south shore of Shepleigh possessed large populations of crustaceans, many of which were fit for consumption. The party, after a long night of roasting and eating craebs, headed back to the base camp. Cinebalt relayed the news of an endless southern sea and crustaceans to his father, who was pleased at the news. Keswick will be a great city one day, remarked Admont.

Many weeks later, Keswick received its second load of men and women from the mainland; Keswick’s population increased nearly threefold as a result. Duda Colasson was much pleased.

However, Keswick attracted the attention of the Sheplings, whom of many the land around Keswick was their home. On a blustery day in the fall, a fair-skinned, amber haired man of great stature and build emerged from the bush with several other men. The warriors approached Admont unabashedly. The giant of a man spoke a dialect of Cliftonling in a brutish accent, making it hard to decipher. What Admont understood was that the man was named Yngvy Tirsson and he was a chieftain of the Skesperlings, the native term for Shepling.

Yngvy spoke for the other chieftains on the island when he denounced the settlement of the island by the “ugly, filthy, and weak”1. Admont did not hesitate when he drew his weapon, a stone tipped curved spear known as a Shillæla, and pointed it towards the chieftain. Despite Admont’s above average height, his Shillæla was angled high for to point at Yngvy’s face. The chieftain’s facial expression remained cold and stone-like. Yngvy had seen enough of Admont and the skrælings intruders. Yngvy muttered something in his native tongue and turned around, disappearing into the forest.

Admont, despite winning this altercation, was visible shocked. A man essentially vowed to remove him and his people, almost personally, from the island.

Yngvy did not return to the village for many weeks, in which time several more shiploads of settlers and increasing number of warriors arrived. A rudimentary palisade was erected around the domiciles and workshops of Keswick. Admont's bushy beard grew with his anxiety and anticipation.

Finally, several warriors preforming a routine, nightly check around the palisades spotted several women running through the forest.2 Suspicions aroused, they scouts quickly reentered Keswick to alert Admont. As they were doing, several screams were heard in the forest, which awoke many people within the town. Several Skesperling men and women were attacking one of the entrances into Keswick. Admont quickly scrambled his men around the gates of Keswick to defend against an assault.

One of the gates was breached and dozens of Skesperling poured in. The warriors were in a defensible position when the human wave reached them. Slaughter and chaos ensued. Many citizens entered the fray with household objects, such as shovels and hoes, as weapons. The melee continued for perhaps thirty minutes when someone outside of the action commented:

"The ground is quaking."

At the breached gate was the colossus himself. Yngvy entered the scrum armed with a massive club made from am entire tree trunk. One swing of his club could kill five men and wound five more. Fortunately for the settlers, the Skesperling regulars were falling faster than the Cliftonling warriors were. Soon enough, only Yngvy and a handful of his woman archers (who'd run out of arrows in the process). Yngvy was surrounded near the center of Keswick, by the wharf. The full moon glistened in the waters of the strait behind Yngvy. The cold coming-winter air blew through the now leafless trees.

Yngvy erupted:

"For every man and woman you have killed, fivefold more will join in the fight against you. Give up, you cannot hold on to your pansy little town. The fight will not end with the death of me; only with the death of you."

A standoff between Yngvy and the entire town of Keswick ensued. Yngvy towered over the townlings like a tree in a meadow. A bolt then suddenly entered Yngvy's side. A female archer on top of one of the roofs delivered an impeccably aimed arrow right under his arm. Yngvy did not flinch, despite half of the arrow lodged inside of him. Then another arrow from the near the rear striked Yngvy, this time in the left thigh. Yngvy recoiled from the shot. Then the town realized that they overtake the giant, for he was now hobbled. A charge was called for by Admont. Despite Yngvy's best efforts, wildly whacking his club, far too many people were starting to club him. A well placed hit on his stomach caused him to buckle.

Another to his shoulder made him fall onto his knees.

A third to his head made him collapse to the ground.

The melee continued until it was almost certain that Yngvy was dead. Even then, Yngvy was able to summon enough of his seemingly infinite strength to attempt to lift himself from the ground, but the death knell was delivered. The Skespering chieftain laid in a puddle of blood, with two arrows sticking out of him, battered and bruised. Keswick had survived.

-----------

Word returned to the Cholk Throne of the battle. Esc I Lexing was shocked to learn the dimensions of the chieftain. Nearly the height of an œliphant and half its weight, Esc I could not believe such a being could exist. Hhe remained in that state until Yngvy's corpse was transported back. The disbelief quickly became thankfulness as he realized that a town of his people defeated this mountain of a man. He was especially proud of his third son, Admont, summoning him back to Clifton for special commendation, Admont's son Cinebalt, the sherman Duda Colasson, and the people of Keswick.

-----------

1It should be noted that Cliftonling and Skesperling, the two languages in question, share many of the same words for adjectives. Hence, Admont was able to understand without needing a translation of what Yngvy meant: insults against his people.

2Being a tribe of few people, man and women, the Skesperlings had to rely on both genders to handle the other's duties. Hence women often fought, usually with bows, in the underbrush. Due to their smaller size, the women were adept are running through the forest, as opposed to someone such as Yngvy.
