Clive2 - Random Monarch

Sorry about that....

Recon: I'm somewhat confused by the builds in the core where there's no danger of flipping. Libraries before courts and markets? Change what I feel needs to be changed.

Not much until 1355 IT when HE finishes. Take Uxmal in 1360. Built a city (sorry rushed for time forgot to note the name).

Not much more until 1375 when we trade Abu Medicine + 180gpt for Nationalism and Steam Power. Start on the path to Communism. Sell Bella Medicine for 50gpt + 80g. MM, using cops. Start railing. Merging native workers into cities to get them to size 12.

Ake deposed in the 1375 IT. We razed it in 1380 along with Tikal.

Build multiple cities (names should give everyone a chuckle).

CI razed in 1385. Bonampak razed in 1390. 1390 IT deal with Toku ends. Sell him physics and dyes for incense.

Idiot inattention takes over, Mayans take Krispy Kreme due to shear idiocy in 1395 IT. Madrid finishes Smiths. Switch Cuzco to MA.

My thoughts for the future: Rail stacks of workers are not optimized. please fix. Cuzco builds nothing but armies. Macchu is doing a prebuild for the next available wonder. We don't end the Mayan War until we control the silks near Copan. After the Mayan war ends our next target is Japanese incense. After we have the japanese incense, we start moving troops to heraclea for the invasion of Spain. When we get commie, revolt. Please let's discuss.

Far too drunk and far to tired to do anything other than the turn log (it is 2am Sat after all :)

Louis XXIV
Sir Clive
DBear
Admiral Kutzov (just played)
Viper275 (up)
Noldodan (on deck)
YanksGiant87

(BTW if anyone is in London and wants to go to a show I can thoroughly
recommend the producers (based on the Mel Brooks film) . Went tonight - it
was absolutely brilliant !!!! )

Oops, I didn't realize I was up. Got it, but I'm not sure if I can get this done really fast, so if you don't want to wait anymore, skip me.

OK Viper -we'll give you the 48hrs from now (i.e until 7pm
London time Weds)

If you just want to play and post 5 turns, that's fine.

If we don't hear from you by 7pm Wed we'll skip to Noldodan

That time us up now (thanks for giving it to me, I intended to play it), RL was busy but primarily I've been having problems with C3C (it crashes when you enter the Domestic Advisor screen in the Industrial or Modern Ages. It happens every single time, too.) I guess it's possible to play without it, but way too difficult (it's a habit of mine to hit F1 all the time) and would play like a warlord level player ;) plus crash the game dozens of times accidentally. I was told at another part of this forum that you can't fix it but you can work around it and prevent it, which I am trying to figure out how to do right now.

And you're in 7 SG's, too. That's gotta put a crimp in things. Would reinstalling work?

PS: I've got the save.

Reinstalling didn't work. Fortunately it only happens in the Industrial and Modern Ages, so I only need to skip in 2.

Preturn - Begin moving Galleons to West coast for Japanese invasion. Shaved 5 turns off Commie research. Crabengwë!
Turn 1 - Cuzco begins Army, ETA 20 turns. 6 "We Love the Sapa-Inca Day's" celebrated. Copan captured, no losses, Great Lighthouse taken. Gonna need some big garrisons. Found Minas Alcar NE of Heraclea. Piute!
Turn 2 - Japs land settler/samurai on former Mayan lands. Raze Qurigua.
Turn 3 - Japs found their city on their landing spot.
Turn 4 - Mayans land Longbow on Donut Island. Yaxchilan razed. Found Eldarinorë in the middle of former Mayan lands.
Turn 5- Arabs land Cav/Settler on former Mayan lands.
No more time to play, sorry. Didn't get much done. Take out the last two Mayan cities on the continent, if you would please.

Public service roster check:

Louis XXIV - up
Sir Clive - on deck
DBear - thinking of cultural pursuits
Admiral Kutzov - should be playing one of the four he's up in
Viper275 - computer problems
Noldodan - just played
YanksGiant87 - requested a skip

Thanks for doing the bump AK - my RL has been absolutely manic for the last 4-5 days so I am afraid I have neglected CivFanatics :(

If Louis doesn't post a gotit in the next 24 then I will pick it up although I will not be able to play Tues night so it will be Weds evening London time before I can play

I got it. I hope I'll remember to play. ;)

Sorry, I've been busy. I hope to play it tommorow evening, but I can't play any sooner.

Playing now, as soon as I read up on what needs to be done :)

Here are my goals:

Retake Krispy Kreme, take Calakmul and Tulum. If I can, I'll try and get Uaxactun in the peace settlement for a place to launch an attack on Japan, but I think it will be there capital, which is just as well, because their other cities will be hit by corruption.

Build settlers like crazy. Get workers as well so I can get those settlers there faster.

Who knows if I can do any of this, but I'll try.

Before the turn:
Move any units I can spare south to retake Krispy Kreme in Operation Time to Make the Donuts. Rush a settler just to get one more. Change a few pointless harbors to Courthouses and Libraries

Check Diplomacy:
Up a bunch of techs to the Americans
Abu Bakr has more than us, I don't see anything we can trade, though.
Spain is up as well
We are up some techs to Japan and down Free Artistry. Trade doesn't seem worth while.

IBT: Memphis fell? It looked like it was empty, but I'm fairly certain there were units inside.

[1]1430: Lots of moves, but let's focus on the fun stuff, the battles.

VET Cav vs. Pike on Hill - No idea since moves weren't animated (explains the problem with Memphis as well). It looks like I won with 1 damage.
ELITE Cav vs. Spear on Hill - Won, 2 damage
VET Cav vs. Spear on Hill - Won, 2 damage
Capture Calakmul, 3 resistors. Move all units in.

After a lot of moves, I hit enter
IBT: We quell two resistors

[2]1435: Land some troops in Dallas
Against Tulum:
VET Cav vs. Reg Pike - Win, no damage
ELITE Cav vs. Vet Spear - Win, 1 damage
I will capture the city next turn
Hit Enter

IBT: Resistance ends

[3]1440: Get out the good stuff first:
Battle of Tulum:
ELITE Cav vs. Longbow - Win, 2 damage
Capture Tulum

Both these cities need fast culture, which we need to rush (maybe I need to rush).

Operation Time to Make the Donuts - Troops advance on Memphis

I figure, at this point, its better to have cities far apart. If we need to, we can have culture or more cities to fill in the gaps. I just don't want to loose it to the Arabs or Japanese.

IBT: Knight retreats to our MDI as part of Operation T2MTD

[4]1445: Time to Make the Donuts in full scale as cavalry has been committed.
VET Cav vs. Reg Spear - win, but loose 3 HP
VET MDI vs. Reg Spear - win, 2 Damage, promote
REG MDI vs. 1HP Knight - win, 1 Damage
Liberate Memphis!
Battle of Krispy Keme:
VET Cav vs. Reg Spear - Win, 2 Damage
VET Cav vs. Reg Spear - Win, 2 Damage
Krispy Kreme Liberated!

We can now make peace, but I don't want to do so unless Uaxactun is included, since I think we can take the city easily.

Talk to the Mayans and...they are really whipped.

We can get Uaxactun, Mayapan, Kabah, Xcalumkin, Free Artistry, and 8 gold per turn in order to stop fighting. I try to think of anything else I want, but I don't think its possible for them to give me more. I grudgingly accept ;) Uaxactun might flip to Spain, so we might want to try and get units over there as fast as possible

Riobampa is founded.

We now are at peace and I have more units that I know what to do with. I do know that all units either have to go on the Cuzco coast, or the Copan coast. However, it is late and I'm tired, so I'll leave most of that for the next person. I usually have to take a break before switching to domestic building anyway.

[5] 1450 - Rush a Library in Tulum. Decide to end here, sorry I couldn't play more.

Sorry all - I haven't been on the list for a bit. Been going out with a new girlfriend for the last 2 weeks - she lives over the other side of town so I've been spending a bit of time away from home. She does have internet access but I don't think she would appreciate me sitting there playing Civ at the moment :crazyeye: so it's the first time I have been able to get onto Civfanatics since Thursday night :(

I've got it , will play at least 5 turns and post something tonight assuming no major disasters
