but today is Sunday and things are unlikely to get better so
here goes :)

MM a few towns but generally everything looks AOK -
As per Louis' plan units will go to Cuzco coast or Copan coast and core will
build infrastructure.

Settler in Washington is going to head towards Alicante and get rid of Spanish from
our area and also claim their coal (hopefully)


Pre turn - Increase research to get Communism in 1

IT - We get communism - switch to Industrialisation

We get a Palace expansion.

1455 (1) Not a lot to do - general movement of troops. Workers concentrate on
railroading.

IT - Americans land in the unsettled land between Suo and Calakmul
and demand an audience. We exchange world maps. (not much use to us
but they are furious and we have no gripe so might as well keep
them happyish )

A couple of towns complete builds - I switch to Libraries for now as there doesn't seem to
be much merit in building any more military.

1460 (2) Workers railroad. Found LouisRuins on ruins north of CalakMul.

IT - Spanish build Shakespears.

1440 (3) Found Sausa. Switch Eldarinore to settler and rush since Arabs
have built city in the area.

Sorry all - I only managed about 4 turns due to RL and I will be staying at my girlfriends tonight so will not be able to post until tomorrow night at earliest. If you want to skip me , go ahead , otherwise I will post something by midnight tomorrow

1475 (5) Found Huamanga. Carry on railroading. There is a settler due in
Copan next turn to fill in the gap by the bananas.


Sorry these turns are fairly :( . It's been a hellish busy week with RL
so I have only been able to play 5 turns and those were crap and slow.

But at least we are still in touch with the leaders

okay to build more military, but it's more important to get the rails built.
 
I don't think military units are a priority in main cities, since they are isolated on an island. You are better off with just a coastal defense. With ships/bombard units, you can stop any invasion. To be on the safe side, you also build rails to rally troops to any weak spot.
 
Got the save. I see we need military and rails. Anything else on the "honeydo" list?
 
We could use more settlers, or at least culture, in the eastern territories

You can also mass some troops in Uaxactun (also, don't build a warrior in the city, move better troops in from the mainland and build something with culture instead).

Worker switched from grain to cop. Pelargir running a food deficit, but will be fixed when the irrigated plains are railed. Vitcos cav-->worker. New Orleans harbor-->temple. Upgrade 3 muskets to rifles. MM various maxed out cities, turning surplus workers into cops or scientists. We need replaceables so we can get some engineers. Memphis switched to rax, Krispy Kreme to Rifle. Bananarama founded ssw of Copan next to bananas, starts rax. Chuito switched to aquaduct. Run explorer back to Bananarama and disband him for shields. Canal City switched to lib, two switched to police. Tell Arabs to clear out, they declare. OK, let's go! Army razes Mosul. We take Shiraz. Bribe Spain to ally with dyes, they pay us 71+ 15/turn! Now the two powerhouses are at war with each other.

IBT: Our fur deal with Spain expires. We renew it, but have to pay 9/turn. Since they're paying us 15, we still come out ahead. Privateers sink a galley near

2) 1485: Clive's Castle settler-->cav. Vitcos worker-->worker. Army kills forces coming from Balkh after cannons soften them up. Merw is taken. Muscat is taken, lone Arab citizen is happy. Rush lib in Huaca. Ica built.

IBT: Arabs raze Copan.

3) 1490: Hlobane starts bank. Ollantay starts cav. Huaras starts cav. Eglarest starts rifle. Jungle City worker-->temple. Huaca lib-->court.

IBT: Our incense deal with Japan ends and they want too much. America signs an embargo against us--big whoop. Arabs land 4 troops at Uaxactun. Since it's such a high chance of flipping anyway, I'll just give it to Spain.

4) 1495: Nasca builds frigate. Isthmus City founded. Philadelphia rushes court.

IBT: longbow kills our cav, redlined. 2 muskets die against our ancient.

6) 1505: Learn industry, start electric. Cuzco army-->factory. Constantinople harbor-->temple. Varna rax-->court. Dallas market-->aquaduct. I see a Rambo in Balkh--they have replaceables! I get a leader, rush him back to Bananarama to form cav army. Army takes Balkh. Machu Picchu switches to Suffrage as a prebuild for Darwin.

7) 1510: Washington lib-->rax. Vitcos cav-->factory. Baltimore settler-->aquaduct. Carson Barracks starts aqua. Silkburg built. Basra razed. Heraclea rushes harbor.

8) 1515: Ollantaytambo cav-->factory. Heraklea harbor-->lib. Get forces in position near Kufah.

9) 1520: Zimbabwe and Tiwanaku build cavs, start factories. Juli starts lib. Kufah razed. I had intended Suffrage to be a placeholder for Darwin. Though Suffrage won't do us good since we're not going to be in a WW government, building it will give us a Golden Age.

IBT: Arabs land a rifle outside Isthmus City which is undefended. Mace kills off a rifle attacking.

10) 1525: Eglarest cav-->factory. Huamanga worker-->temple. Declare war on America, have three escorted galleons heading there. Spain is trying to get to open area sw of Riobamba. Set Philly to settler, will pop next turn. Rush rax in Eldarinore.

To Do list: Wipe out Americans and hurt the Arabs as much as possible. Prepare for Mayans as well. Try to get factories in our core cities. I don't like switching governments in wartime, but it may be worthwhile to switch to commie.
 
Well I have no idea what I am still doing up at 2am but seeing as I am here and I started this thread I had better post a roster.

Once again apologies for my limited participation of late but I am now spending 2/3 nights a week away from home and am therefore unable to post as frequently as I would like :(

I will try to arrange my social life so I can play my 10 turns in the required time next time it comes around to me !

Yes, we should switch to Communism (set a prebuild to SPHQ ahead of time)

After that's done, I still think we should go after Japan (I think the Japanese mainland has some luxuries that would be useful). Its a shame we lost Uaxactun, I would have used it to conquer that secondary Japanese island (its not a big deal, of course, we don't even have to conquer that island if we don't want to, since the luxuries are on the mainland).

Given our scientific incompetance, a blue ribbon panels suggests dropping our research to zero. The revolt of the masses is expected post haste.

A Short History of the Great Revolutionary War. Our entangling alliance with Spain and continued all around backwardness led to the great revolt of 1530. This revolt would take 8 turns to resolve. Under pressure from the revolutionary committee, the general staff begins to operate in a more efficient manner, moving to block the spaniard from creating a new settlement near Eldarinore. The Diplomatic Corps likewise feels the pressure from the Revolutionary Commitee on Anarchy and suceeds in adding another partner to our revolutionary war vs Abu. Toku joins our war for economic guarantees of wine. The Worker Efficiency Commitee reassigns many workers from jungle clearing to railroad network completion.

The General Staff initiatives pay off in 1535 when Cleveland falls to our revolutionary forces. The final American city is destroyed the following year.

The Anarchist's Construction Project results in the founding of Point Denial in 1540.

The Diplomatic Corps, having spent too much time in proximity to Smoke and his unusual substances, sends a strange cable to the effect of renewal of the ongoing peace treaty. They add a peculiar postscript, "He's not called Smoke for nothing."

General Staff offensives result in the destruction of Damascus in 1550.

The Inspector General Directorate is sent in to root out incompetance after the destruction of a 12/13 army to a 4/4 rifle.

Our anarchy is quiet until 1565 when the Communist Party siezes control after a questionable election.

Diplomatic Corps secures scientific assistance in the form of Electricity from Spain in return for economic guarantees of gems and silks. Our scientists assure the Commitee for State Security that infantry will be available in 8 turns. Commisars are sent to all the cities in 1570 to assess MM capabilties. Their final reports are expected tomorrow. The Incan Democratic Socialist Republic is poised for further expanison.

The People's Commisars have completed the MM of the cities. IDSR forces consisting of cannon, 2 cav armies and assorted other units are poised to attack Baghdad. Heroic workers have completed the railnet. Commitee for State Security awaits completion of a factory in Zimbabwe to begin construction of their new HQ.

Viper - do you still have problems with your game in the Industrial Age ? I think you skipped last time because of this. After tonight I will probably not be back on the forum until late Tuesday London time (although I may possibly have time to access it from work before then) so I will state now that it should be bumped to Noldodan unless we get a 'got it' from Viper by 3am Tuesday London time
