First, I sure up some defense against possible Arab attacks. I begin the assault on Bagdad and level the city. The workers are freed from their capitalist opression and will be sent to our socialist work camps. Send some troops to attack Adun (and the gems) while the rest goes after Mecca.
Unfortunately, we have begun to get attacked by Arab Guerrilla fighters. Already, I am regretting splitting up our army. On turn 5, I begin getting reenforcements for the attack on Adun, I've moved some troops up from Balkh to help with the Mecca attack.
Arab Guerrillas continue to attack our forces, and our assualt on Mecca was repulsed. I loose a stack of cannons. We have researched replacable parts and start working on Espionage.
1605AD: The Mecca campaign has ended in failure. All our troops, including additional cannons and an army were destroyed. We also lost the workers we had previously liberated from Bagdad.
1625AD: All is not lost comrades. Our forces in the western Arab lands have succeeded in capturing Adun. We now can get access to gems, as soon as we build a road and harbor.
Troops are being massed in Balkh for another possible assault on Mecca. Infantry and Artillery should be included as well. There are two settlers, so we can raise and replace the cities. I think our production is far superior, and they don't have rubber, so there is no question we will win. I just hope this win will be soon.
