Comrades, Construction of the First People Army has begun in Cuzco. This Army will be used to smite the fascists.

Cancel most of the deals with 'bella in 1630. @ lux's have another 8 turns to run.

We need more artillery. Treacherous Toku and Abu sign a peace treaty in 1635.

1640: destroy Taif. Immediate steal Sci. Method from Bella. Convert Machu Picchu to ToE (due in 2). Ask Bella to leave and she does. This will be a recurring theme.

1645: Plant a city. Ask Bella to leave and she does.

IT: ToE comes in. We get corp and AT. :spank: My bad.

1650: Build Cax.

1655: Trade Bella AT for Refining and 968g

1660 IT: Bella demands wines. The Heroic Socialist Incan bow to nobody. She backs down. ABu and Bella make peace.

1665: found New Twinkie. Abu gives us Suhar for peace. Ok. Immediately aboandon Suhar (flip risk)

1670: deals with Bella are finally over! Ask her to leave and she declares. Buy in Toku for Ivory and Abu for 20gpt. Start art. bombardment of Merida. 5 cav attacks later raze merida. Give Shiraz to Maya since we can't hold it. Take Alicente.

1675: Zimbabwe doing prebuild for Hoovers.

OK - in an attempt to get the roster back in some sort of order -

Last 2 to play were Louis and AK, Yanks Giant is back.

I can play some tonight . It's 20-30 here and I have work tomorrow and a few other things to do , but I should be able to get 2hrs play in. I am also free tomorrow night, but then out Tue/Wed/Thu/Fri evenings so am unlikely to play after Monday for a little while.

So I think it makes sense if I take the next spot , and post Monday night UK time whether I have managed 10 turns or not.

All looks like very good advice to me - I will follow this plan !

I will try to make sure I don't blow the Hoover prebuild (as I blew the Smith's
prebuild earlier in the game :( )

We are at war with Spain and have alliances with Arabia and Japan against
Spain. There are loads of Spanish troops by Heraclea
(1 stack of 27, 2 stacks of 4, mostly rifles + Med inf)- looks like
we may lose it in the next couple of turns.

Caxamalca, Cleveland and Los Angeles all look in imminent danger of falling
to the Spanish stack NE of Cleveland.

Killimg Bella looks like good advice but we do seem to be in imminent
danger of losing a few cities to her before we even get started !

Cycle through cities - AK seems to have left everything in good order
(as expected !!) so no changes made. I presume although we are going to steal rather
than research we should still buy advances from our friends if we can ?

I know we don't ned Fascism , but I don't understand why we haven't gone
for sanitation yet (trade / steal ? ) when 3 other civs have it.

Anyway I will leave it for now.

1680AD (1) . Kill a couple of spanish units outside Heraclea. Workres keep
railroading. Ship more units from Cincinatti to Heraklea. We have a settler
in Kabah - can't work out what to do with him.

IT Various build switches

Spanish capture cleveland, attack Heraclea (They have loads of troops here)
and land troops on the island of Mayapan/Kabah/Corihuayrachina/Andahuaylas

We have 4 towns on this Island which have a total of 1 settler between them!

Not a single troop in sight !!

This war against Spain looks like very bad news - we are completely out numbered.

I will take it for a couple more moves and see how things pan out.


1685AD (2) . MOre of the same as turn 1

IT - Keep builds on Rax / Arty and military. Spanish capture Mayapan
and Andahualyas. We win a few battles defending Heraklea against Spanish attackers.
We get a couple of promotions but this looks hopeless - Spain are far too strong.
We'll hopefully have a few Arty to help out in a couple of turns but it
doesn't look good

1690AD (3) . Arty arrives in Heraklea and damages a few Spanish units. Workers
continue railroading.

IT Heraklea is captured by the Spanish. We lose lots of units. Furious Arabs
want WM and Espionage for WM. I decline.

I'm going to stop here for some advice. The war against Spain has been a
disaster so far . Our military is far far too weak to be fighting against
the spanish and we will not be able to retake Heraklea. We still have many
undefended cities and I can see the Spanish walking all over us in the next
few turns.

I am really inclined to end the war NOW!!

I am a loss not sure what to do with the money. We now have 7564 gold and it would
be useful to use this for stealing tech but I can't help thinking we drastically
need to start rushing some units.

What do you all think ?

they're not our friends. they're just temporarily off the target list. I'd rather have the cash pi**ed away in an unsuccessful steal than feed it into their ecomonies.

I don't like hospitals anymore. They cause pollution, are pains to MM and if you can use hospitals you've spaced your cities too far apart.

We have a settler
in Kabah - can't work out what to do with him.

Unless you need an emergency wonder rush, Cuzco stays on exclusively armies. Plenty of other cities are productive. Build military there.

The only thing really important is that we keep the 2 big islands. Everything else is peripheral. I know I left you lean on military. Once the builds finish we'll pump units like you've never seen. Hold off for awhile, I'll try to get some plans and screenies up before you have breakfast. I shoulda mentioned, this was to be a defensive war to chew up the spanish forces. My bad.
 
Here's the plan. The sky is not falling.

Change Cuzco to army and keep it there. don't be afraid to draft in response to landings. You've isolated the spanish forces in Heraclea; keep them there
Keep the army in Cinncinnati on the continent it's currently on to help deal with any unanticipated landings. Your goal is hold our "good" stuff and let the spanish and our allies beat each other up. gift the cities on Maya capital island to Arabia. You can't hold 'em, neither can Smoke. Looks like you've figured out how to move forces to the Heraclea area. Keep it that way. Need an inf. army to guard our future artillery stack (see reference to Cuzco above) If you can't hold it, give to a much weaker AI (don't go crazy here) I'd go heavy on inf and art builds, then cavs in the homeland. Once the infra builds finish, you can mobilize if you need to. Our main enemy is not the spanish, it is the japanese. Bella has spent her offensives. All that is left is heavy cleanup. Toku needs to be taken down in the future. In the interim, he's hopefully squandering forces against Bella. We want to play Abu, Bella and Toku off against each other since all three are religious. Keep them out of Demo. Cuzco, Victos and Zimbabwe are our heavy hitters. Cuzco is stuck on armies. Victos and Zim. should alternate wonders and prebuilds. there are plenty of other cities to build military.

Is there anything we should be spending on now (apart from Electronics
steal when it becomes avaialable ) ?
 
you can fire up the research again since there's really nothing else to spend it on. Try to keep around 5k in the bank.
 
Well , it didn't go great but it could have been a lot worse I suppose

As per advice I gear myself up for a defensive rather than an attacking
war and switch some of the cav builds to infantry.

I am still worried about the undefended towns on our mainland
(sugarland, Eldarinore, Riobamba, Point Denial, Isthmus city)
especially since the japanese have Suo there but I guess we can get defences
there quickly if thing do turn nasty.

We can research steel in 7 at a loss of 5 gpt. Since we have 7564g in the bank
I decide to go with this.

1695 AD (4)
Start moving troops near Heraclea as per AKs advice. Also start moving troops
and army towards cincinatti.

IT Despite moving the troops to better defensive positions the spanish finish
them off easily.

Gift Kabah , Corihuarachina and Xcalumkin to the Arabs

Ironland completes Intelligence Agency - change to infantry

Move empty Army into Huaras. There are 3 infantry just landed to the NW
who should be able to join it next turn

Spanish move their troops towards Carson Barracks which is undefended.
Sci down to 30% still means steel in 1 turn

1725 AD (10)
Arty bombards the Spanish invaders near Huaras but barely infllict
a scratch.
The 3 infantry are now in Huaras - I'll leave it up to the next player to
decide whether to load it into the Army

Btw can u guys give me a summary of what i need to accomplish during my turns so I don't screw up the whole game plz?
 
@ yg87 - fight defensively.

@ clive - you forgot about drafting. No big deal this is in the bag. Think frictionless movement. Move thingies to where they land and kill them. Includes draftees for defense. Once the rails are up and we've got cities above 7 pop, no reason to lose cities. Draft as needed to stop the incursions.

@ all - any diplo stuff we should be doin'?
 
I will be able to access civfanatics briefly tonight London time (although I won't be able to get to it until about midnight) . After that I wont be able to get to it until Saturday evening (apart from a quick view from work if I have time)

So - AK could you take responsibility for bumping / roster posting if you don't see me doing it .

Should be back to normal next week (until Easter at least :) )
 
responsibility, moi? I see it's snowing in the Sahara... No problem. :)

@YG87- hold off the spanish, steal techs, build up the cash for future steals, draft as needed. Please advise if more details needed.

Turn 1: Change Buffalo from library to infantry, everything else that finished i changed to infantry. Create army at Carson Barracks.
Sorry guys we lost our army of 3 cavs on an attack on a one infantry.

IBT: Spanish captured Xcalumkin

Turn 2:Our Infantry army and an infantry and one guerilla take out the Carson Barracks invaders.
Change Juli to Galleon.

Turn 3:Nothing happens just transport troops up towards Cincinatti to guard vs amphibious assualts.

Turn 4: The lone cavalry invader is erradicated.

Turn 5: Just move troops around and move workers.

This is all I have time to play for now, Sunday is a really busy day for me, I tried my best not to mess up the game =/.
