Im totally confused, If i just went then what happened to Dbears, vipers and noldondans turns?

things bogged down after after Louis asked for a skip, so i grabbed it to keep things moving.

Why are we build military in towns without rax? Things aren't that dire.

1752: moving stuff, spanish start Hoover
1754: safe steal electronics. switch Zim to hoover due in 1. load troops and ship 'em to Minas Alcar.
1756: Aden deposes
1758: Move second army to spain
1760: plinking
1762: drop science to 50%
1766: Abu and Bella sign peace
1768: declare on Smoke just cause I'm tired of the irritating blue blob on the mini map. Smoke goes up like a puff of smoke
1770: Buy in Toku v. Bella for coal. Buy in Abu v. Bella for iron. Bella finishes US.

Forces are gathering for assault Spain. Keep plinking with the cannons until you get a third army to cover the other 2. Don't let the armies fall into yellow even if you have to delay attacks. Conserve the forces. http://www.civfanatics.net/uploads9/Clive2_ak_1770_AD.SAV

I think the roster should now be

Louis XXIV - skipped
Admiral Kutzov - Just played
Sir Clive - Up
DBear - On deck.
Viper275 -
Noldodan -
Yanks Giant -

I'll try and play some tonight (Mon) but may not be able to get to it until Tuesday

OK - I am about to start playing now.

It is 10-10pm and seeing as the turns are quite long now I am not sure how far I will get tonight but I will try to post something tonight or tomorrow.

Not looking good so far - I am having real trouble holding off the Spanish. Any advice Welcome !!

Pre turn - we are at 0% sci - not quite whether we should be researching
but turn it up to 70% - flight due in 4 .

All build instructions look pretty good.

To recap we are at war with Spain and have alliances against them with
Japan and Arabia. Troops to head towards Heraclea to join in the campaign
against the Spanish

Hit enter

Japan demand we leave - sign an ROP with them.

1772 (1) - General movement.

IT - Spanish capture Atico :( Army completes

1774 (2) - General movement.

IT - Spanish capture Zimbabwe and MoM :( :(

I don't know what the hell I am doing wrong here but the last two turns I have
played I have found it absolutely impossible to defened our territory.

I just cannot see anyway of defending against the Spanish - we seem to be far too
weak. Looks like it is gong to be a turn of damage limitation.

We also have an army which is likely to be destroyed by the Spanish next turn :(

Ollantatybo -> SPHQ

1776 (3) - More pointless movement - we just don't have enough troops to
protect ourselves

IT - yet more Spanish land near our undefended cites. They capture Hlobane
We discover flight .Switch to Mass Prod due in 6. Switch a couple of builds to bombers.

Spain has a stack of 2 Guerilla, 4 infantry , 1 Med Inf and 1 rifleman near Isthmus
City. We have nothing that has a hope of defending against that :(

1778 (4) - Try my best to defend our towns but it doesn't look good

IT - The Spanish obviously feel sorry for us and don't capture any more cities.

Late now so am going to have to take a break until tomorrow

@ sir clive - you should have been able to draft as needed to stop any landings on our shores. The rail net is up so you should be able to move art. as needed to pound invaders. Capturing Zim. should not have happened if you noticed the landing. Can you post a save for the prior turn?

If we have an army likely to be destroyed next turn, you've used it too much.

Need some screenies. Yo' viper, you out there?

I'm going to have to ask for a skip. I am under the gun trying to finish up CotM10 and I won't have time to plan this war. :(

The army survived OK - I think I was just being slightly paranoid.

Trouble with moving the arty is that we don't have anything else much to protect them.

I should be able to complete turns tonight. I have never ever drafted before but I will give it a try.

Here's the save

Saved game

Well this has turned into a bit of a disaster so I am going to hand over now before I do any more damage :(

Read up on drafting citizens - have never done this before .
Civilopedia says it will give unhappiness - hope it is not tooo bad !

1780 (5) - Inflict Further damage on Heraklea. Draft a load of Infantry
on our Eastern island.

IT Spanish capture Port Denial :(

1782 (6) - Well the drafting looked like a good idea at the time. However
conscript Infantry are worse than useless against the Spanish and we fail
to take any of the captured cities.

IT Spanish capture Eglarest

There are Spanish ships ready to land all over the place and we have very little
to protect our cities.

I think I will just play one more turn to avoid inflicting too much damage.

1784 (7) - We don't lose anything but I am just having no joy at all
here. There is a stack of conscript infantry near Zimbabwe but they are
just suicide fodder against a single veteran infantry in Zimbabwe.

Hope the next player can get us out of this mess and show me what I should have
done :(

Saved Game 1784

@ SC - con. inf. are pretty much for defense only. If the AI lands 3 units, you draft 3+1 to cover whatever cities they can reach. I may not have been clear when I said fight defensively + bomb with the cannon and take down RL units. if I in fact ever said this.

We really need Zim. back. If the SPHQ is gone, we need to get it back up. Next player, please post a got it and a map soon.

lurker's comment: Why the panic? Look at the map, find the artillery, crippple the invaders, cover the open vulnerable cities with Invaders+1, and watch the Spanish die. The most they will send will be four.

But most importantly, use the artillery, do not attack healthy infantry with anything until you have tanks. And especially don't attack towns defended with artillery and infantry with an army. It will die.

You have a spy and lots of money. Use him. You can steal plans, initiate propaganda, steal technology.

Preserve your forces! There are enough of them to protect the realm and progress up the Spanish peninsula.
