College Football 2009

Actually, Rivals had him at 5, FWIW. Point is he was a big recruit.

Hmm, why are we not up by 30 yet? To give Colt a better chance at the Heisman with a HEROIC, AMAZING, STATISTICAL comeback?

With Ingram's no-show against a suspect run D, I think Colt just won it. Holding out the possibility he destroys Florida, but I doubt it.

He could still easily lose it against Nebraska, especially if Tebow OMG LEADERSHIP INTANGIBLES JIM KELLY WANTS TO DRAFT HIM HEISMAN HEISMANs all over Alabama.

The fact that Tim Tebow and Colt McCoy are getting such serious consideration for the "Most Outstanding Collegiate Football Player in 2009" is a joke. Even if you change the wording to say "The best QB on a undefeated team." I still wouldn't put them in the top 3. Now maybe I could award it to Colt McCoy if they changed the wording to "Most Outstanding Collegiate Quarterback from the Big 12 Conference." But I certainly couldn't do that for Tim Tebow if they changed it to "Most Outstanding Collegiate Quarterback from the Southeastern Confernce."

But hell, even giving it to Colt is such a tremendous travesty when he hasn't even been in the top 2 in QB play in his own state of Texas.

So what I'm trying to say here is that anyone that puts Colt or Timmy anywhere near their Heisman ballot should immediately be stripped of any right to vote, as you clearly cannot read what the question they are asking says.

Of course I would vote for someone like Suh, Gerhart, or Nesbitt before Colt, but I would vote for Colt before I voted for the other "front runners". That is how the Heisman debate is framed, through front runners who are appointed in pre-season and only lose their spot if they lose. It's kinda similar to the BCS and it's just as much of a joke.

People deserving of an invite to NY:
Gerhart
Suh
Moore
Keenum

People going to be invited to NY:
Tebow
McCoy
Ingram

Well, at least McCoy winning it would not be as bad as Eric Crouch :p

EDIT: I love this Arkansas-LSU rivalry, the games are always epic. Plus, either Miles or Petrino will lose and that's always fun.

Under the radar, but worth noting:

SMU and Temple are playing in bowls.

mind esplode

Something else that went under the radar. Houston led Rice 59-0 at halftime.

Kraz, Pete Carroll is turning into Bob Stoops. A long TD pass up 14 with under a minute when UCLA has no way to stop you from running out the clock?

It's almost like he thinks that won't come back to bite him in the ass later. Next time I hope Stanford goes for 60.

Speaking of Stoops, there are lots of rumors floating around that he could be Notre Dame's coach by Tuesday. Shame, I've always liked the Irish :(

That was completely justified. Did you even watch the replay? USC tried to kneel out the clock, and UCLA called a timeout to lengthen the game for no reason whatsover. Okay, you want to play ball? We'll play ball. Next play, USC goes for a play action and scores the touchdown. Neuheisal needs it up the ass more it seems.

Oh, and how come you never come on #nes anymore? We were just talking about how your ass disappeared last night! :(

Oh god forbid someone calls a timeout, just incase Barkley fumbles the ball or something. Calling a timeout during kneel downs happens all the time, what doesn't happen is play action bombs when the game is decided and the STARTERS ARE STILL IN. It's not like he is giving his backups playing chances or anything.

But, thinking it over, I don't really like Neiheusal (lolsp) so I suppose I don't mind too much.

I'm not on #NES because it's a time sink. As soon as this next week ends, I'll be on it all the time again. Waiting until the last minute to write up 3 research dealies is a BAD idea. BAD.

There was less than a minute left. USC was up by 14. What could have happened that let UCLA win the game? It's not like USC manages time like Les Miles. Face it, Neuweasal was just being an ass and got what he deserved.

You have until Thursday to pound out orders for bombnes. Ottos are open and the Greek war is over.. hinthint

Wow, Carroll is a douche. He can't take it (see the "What's your deal?" Stanford game), but he sure doesn't mind dishing it out. Have fun in the Holiday Bowl Petey.

Teams have come back from more with less time before. Rick's TO call was a legitimate football play. The play that gives USC the highest chance of winning in return is to run it up the gut or take a knee. Imagine if that bomb was picked, UCLA scores a TD and then has an onside kick pending: Carroll would look like the biggest schmuck in the universe.
