Three questions, if I may.

First, you're taking a class on business and advanced placement economics? Given your ideology, what possible incentive do you have to attend these classes?

Second, there is a communist club?

Third, the communist club has a treasury?

You know how communism really works. ;)

I would suggest Southern Illinois University, that place is crazy-liberal.

Um like it or not the world still goes by teh rules of economies, im more interested in microeconomics.

as for business? just taking it as a filler cuz i come to school early n e wayz. actually its a ******** class that jus like repeats what AP econ said last week in a simpler manner
Second, there is a communist club?
yeah, technically its the socialist club but we call it communist club , its prolly the biggest active club in school next to KEY CLUB
Third, the communist club has a treasury?
well yeah, we gotta collect money to pay for the stuff we do and places we go to

I"ve seen California colleges. The problem with them is that every campus has some kind of rodent running around. Be it squirrels or rabbits or raccoons.

First of all forget about Stanford. Berkeley will be difficult too but UC does favor california residents. Pick a few safety schools too.

What's wrong with Stanford? His grades are good enough for him to get in. Stanford is a good school, but it isn't impossible to get into.

Stanford is private so it's much more expensive for residents who get a big break on tuition at state schools. UC Berkeley is a phenomenal school as many of the UC schools are (UC San Diego, Davis, UCLA). My fiancee' is a teacher who went to Berkeley and followed with her education masters at Columbia in NY.

Needless to say we have very different views on things but I love her anyhow.

Maybe you wrote this somewhere but I didn't see it. Do you have any idea of what sort of major you're interested in, even just roughly? Because that could go a long way towards narrowing down where you want to go, although that's probably something you'll be doing after you get into schools, you should apply to a number of them.

Hehe. I'm on my team's Varsity league :p
Hope to meet you in the ring!

How can you have such good grades and write so poorly.

You better try to go to Berkeley, because there's very few other universities that'll be good for an uber-commie like yourself

Any major university is going to have some sort of ubercommie population.

Other than West Point, Annapolis, or the Air Force Academy, anyway. :p

Those are academies :mischief:

Wes Clark went to West Point. Jimmy Carter to Annapolis. Some on here would classify those two as ubercommies.

 They'll get heckled as corporatist pigs just as readily as any other national pol in Cambridge or Berkeley, though.

Every college has some sort of rodent running around. That's what you get when you have the sorts of open spaces that you usually have at colleges.

BTW Commie, you're quite wrong about GPA. You unweighted GPA and class rank are likely much more important, because weighting systems often vary significantly.

And you've obviously never been to the South, either.

EDIT: If you're looking for chances, all I can say is that your resume (especially wrt ECs and SATs) is probably a little lean for Stanford. Berkeley might be a good fit, though.

If you think you can do better on the SATs it could be worthwhile to take them again before the deadlines.

You could probably get into most of the UCs. UCLA and Cal are a tight squeeze, however.

UCLA and Cal are harder to get into than Berkeley? I thought Berkeley was significantly better, as in one of the top schools in the country?

Cal is Berkeley. UCLA has the lower acceptance rate, but I think that's just because it gets more applications from people wanting to live there.

Cal is Berkeley. UC Berkeley was the original site of the University of California, before it started expanding to other places. Apparently, if you live out of state it is as tough or tougher to get into Berkeley than it is into Ivy Leagues, whereas the in-state requirements are somewhat easier. Acceptance into UCs seems to be somewhat random at times. I know a number of people who got into UCLA but not Berkeley, but also a fair few who got into Berkeley but not UCLA. A rather strange phenomenon, considering the same application is sent to both schools.

Fetus, how did you end up at UCLA? Weren't you the one with the Cal avatar for a long time?
