Are you playing v20 or latest SVN? This isn't crashing for me, so it may be that whatever causes it is already fixed in the SVN version.

Is it 100% reliable for you? (on end turn from the posted save game)

I am playing v20. And the crash occurs at the end of turn.

Hope it was fixed in SVN version, and in v21 everything will be fine.

@Sgtslick
If you Can go to SVN please do. I couldn't for a long time because of my internet provider was very limited. But once I got a better service I now use the SVN regularly. It's allowed me to get games up into the Industrial Era. Plus it allows me to give better feedback that isn't (sometimes) outdated.

I grabbed the svn last night and moved it into my c2c folded, replacing everything.. I think this was how i was suppose to do it
I dnt wanna have to redownload the entire thing again.. prolly shudda asked first
I probably should have just copied and pasted it rather than simply moving it right? :cringe:

I got the svn coz the black terrain bug came back, now with my new version its gone. So far so good..

The scroll/minimap CTDs are a graphics issue that I still investigate. A workaround if you get a lot of it is to use the SVN version and hide the city entities with Alt-Shift-R.
Ill try this now that i have the svn next time i wanna scroll around.

I keep getting MAF's tho which is kinda annoying.. oh well

With the amount of RAM you have, Civ should have a full 4GB for itself which unless there is a serious memory leak around should prevent MAFs.
What does the task manager say about the amount of memory of the BtS process?

If your getting MAF's then you should be getting CTD's and then post the Minidump (from the BtS.exe area folders) here where the "experts" can take a look at them, thx. But please post anything wrong in the v20 thread like that.

8gb dd3 - 64bit win7

The MiniDump.dmp is an invalid file type to attach.. anyway its from yesterday (date modified) - does this mean its not relevant?

I mean what does the task manager report how much memory the BeyondTheSword.exe process is using when you have loaded the problematic game?

Use one of the compression formats that are allowed.

Are you on the newest SVN (one from late today)?
Then try Alt-Shift-R and see if you still crash.

This seems to work by the way :)

Only problem for me is MAF's but it usually only after an hour or 2, so im assuming its the memory leak

Its nice mod btw guys

Industrial era workers can't build Fig Orchards or Fruit picking camp. So if you've upgraded your workers to industrial and you plant a new city that has Fig as a resource you can't take advantage of the resource.

Why do Paved Roads no longer give an additional hammer to mines? Has it been moved to Shaft mine? So in essence shaft mine also loses a hammer?

What does it take to get rhino riders? I've finally been able to capture several rhinos but no rhino rider build option in the city build list.

Has the ability for an animal to place a resource on a tile now gone?

Has Banana Plantation had it's Food output reduced? I only get 4 now, it used to be more. Same for Apple orchards. Makes using a GF to plant a new Orchard not worth it.

And why is the Elephant camp so weak. Been meaning to ask about this for the last several versions. 2 Food and 2 hammers is weak compared to horse and cow or even bison and sheep.

There was an error in the XML. I will post a fix soon.

You need to build the Myth of the Rhino with the Subdued Rhino in your capital. You need Alt-Timelines on. You need to beat everyone else to it because the Rhino Trainer is a wonder.

They do still place instead of being subdued but in fewer cases. People were complaining about getting the resources next to each other.

You can also build a Rhino Hunter's Camp which requires Elephant and Pig resources in the city vicinity. However this combo can be rare on maps.

So far for me very rare. :p

I started civ IV and tried to load a saved c2c game from civ IV main screen. The game just stopped working and I have to Ctrl-Alt-Del to stop it running. Then I loaded up c2c before trying to load the game. Then I got an error message saying, "The save file you have selected is protected to ensure that the assets in your mod folder have not been changed."

??

What? Ok, so it's protected. Now let me play? Please? Anyone?

Edit: Ok, so I closed down the program and started it again. CTD when i tried to start a new game. Ok I was clicking like mad trough the menus, but still. Then, I restartet c2c again and tried to load the save file mentioned above. Now it worked. Super strange. I did not change anything. Just restarted a few times.

So everything is working then?

I have the Divine Prophets on, so I am supposed to get a Great Prophet when I found a new religion, but sometimes I don't get one. I was the first to Hindu, but no GP. Had to go into world builder to give myself one to found the religion. This has happened twice before too.

Are you sure you WERE the first to the tech granting Hinduism then?
A computer might have gotten there first and got the GP, just not used it to found the religion with. You do know that's an option too.

Cheers

Ok guys, I am sorry, but the error I reported is back, and it is relentless this time. I am playing the new 28 civs scenario, started from Custom Scenario option, if that matters,

If I try to load the game from civ Iv main, it crashes, as noted. If loaded from c2c main, it presents the error message, the music stops and I am pushed back to main. If i try to load from within a newly started game, the error message occurs and I am immediately pushed back to c2c main, loosing the newly started game.

Am I the only one to have experienced this? I have v20, no SVN. I have tried to restart a lot now, to no avail. Will reboot my system now, and see if the problem is that i try to load from civ IV main. Will edit this after this trial.

Edit: I tried to start from civ IV main again, without reboot of the system, and now it worked. Can anyone explain what is happening? Why does it work some of the time, but not all of the time? What does the error mean? The error is, "The save file you have selected is protected to ensure that the assets in your mod folder have not been changed."

That come sup when you have the option "Lock Modified Assets" on in your game. It's used to stop cheating of any kind, be it entering the World Builder or changing files between loads.
The best option is to not use that option when you start a game as you can't update the game in any way and keep playing that save, including updating the DLL for crash fixes.

Cheers
