Community Call to Power Project

I agree, the only problem is there is only one person working on the mod and he hasn't posted anything for at least 3 weeks, he said he was having some RL problems. Hopefully everything works out and he can get back to modding, cant let this mod die

Gilgamesch,

Then my suggestions is:

+ General: wonders require some resources.

– Remove Steel. Replace Steel producing building (Blast Furnace) function with doubling of city's iron resource. Add iron as requiring resource to many industrial units and wonders (such as Eiffel Tower).
– Remove Kerosene and Diesel. Add building giving additional production of oil, or
on the contrary oil sale to gold.

+ Add copper as strategic resource for copper/bronze age units and wonders.
+ Add polymers (synth. rubber and plastic) as resource, producing from oil.
+ Add industrial buildings, which produce luxury resources: synth. furs, dyes, perfume, diamonds, PC-games and other.

Actually that was partially in my PPT.

All wonders still require resources "Manpower" and some others need also resources or a related resource in the near place.
There are some industrial buildings that create unique resources...
Changing Copper to a strategic resource means to alter the assignstarting.luaplot, that means i have to recreate all resources, that would bang my time, sorry no way.

The placement of additional resources is quite difficult (only resources that are spread on the maps creation).
Any change there could break the whole resource generator and iam not willing to crack this system yet.

That gives obvious idea add 'strategic copper' to game with 'luxury copper' and some building that require hex with 'luxury copper' around city and gives some count of 'strategic copper', but this may be only workaround/

I have another relevant to resources idea, but i wonder if anyone can realize it in civ:
i want material basement of luxury trading. Namely i want that diplomatic trade of resources influences to trade routs and require it.

Sure if you are familar with lua coding this is doable. Also dll coding is needed!
But since you need to overwrite massive vanilla files, this mod would be incompatible with many mods outthere.

In my opinion this is better to create new game from zero.

What exactly need to be changed (or where are i can read about it)?

Start from zero, lol, this was discussed after the release of BnW.
But iam not willing to spend this ammount of time, also without the former modders here this would be a mess.

What exactly you need to make this, good question.
Many UI replacements and dll hooking would be needed. Look at the tutorial threads and lua section...
Not to mention that any UI replacement can (and will possibly break the techsystem).
Encountered this before, and this is/was the reason why i dont added new specialist for example.
