Community Patch - How To Install

can someone tell me in plain English how to use eui with this mod? For some reason the mod creators always make the instructions really confusing.

When using installer:
step 1 run installer, select EUI option, if Civ V is correctly specified into windows reigistry (i.e.: not using hacked/portable Civ V) it will 'automagically work)
step 2 open My Documents\My Games\Sid Meier's Civilization 5 and delete contents of cache and moduserdata folders.
optional step 3 if registry is not set: download cp version of UI_bc1.zip extract into $civ5location\Assets\DLC

If doing manual install
step 1 extract all mod zips except UI_bc1.zip into My Games\Sid Meiers etc.\MODS
step 2 remove contents of cache and moduserdata
step 3 download cp version of UI_bc1.zip extract into $civ5location\Assets\DLC

Hi there, congrats for all the hard work behind this project.
I 've downloaded everything but cannot activate it ingame because I'm missing the DLCs and can't find them anywhere... Alternatively, is there a workaround?

How can i uninstal the mods? i use the Automatic installer

You can deactivate them by unchecking them in the in-game "Get Mods" screen.

You can uninstall them by deleting them from the MODS folder in the "My Games" tree in your PC.

Do i really have to wait close to SEVEN hours before the download starts??

You shouldn't. How are you doing it?

You have to buy them. Steam is the easiest place to do it.

Download doesnt work for me as well.
mega.nz seems to be out of free bandwith at the moment, and only displays a 7 hour counter for me, even after getting a new IP. "This limit is dynamic and depends on the amount of free bandiwth we have availible".

Please upload the installer to another location, would love to try this. :)

Don't you have a choice to download directly to your PC?

I never use mega.nz.

I never use mega.nz.

That is what I'm attempting to do.

edit: possibly region restricted problem as my friend from another part of the world could download it

There's literally an 'alternate download' link on the main page.

Download auto-installer. Click next until installed. Play. If you have a nonstandard civ install (i.e. steam folder moved, documents folder moved) it may not work. However, if you are advanced enough of a PC user to understanding changing the location of core folders like documents, you should be able to discern where the mod's files should end up. Sorry if that's not helpful, but lambasting 'mod creators' when we have zero control over the mod tools we're given is...not nice.

Buy them on Steam, GreenMan, etc.

Hi guys, I just got back into this game and people told me to check out this huge mod, which I have. I don't like all the changes, but mostly it's interesting changes that have made the game seem more fresh. I'm having a problem though in that I can never research masonry. I get stuck at this tech and can not research anything past it. The tech tree can't scroll right past it either. I have to use the in game editor mod to give my self the tech, then the game continues as normal.

Also the package has an installer, but I still have to go through the terrible in-game mod interface to load the mods every time (I really don't like how civ5 handles mods). Is there a way to setup a launch shortcut that launches with all the mods, or do I always have to do this every time?

Sounds like you are missing some DLC.

I have all the core gameplay DLC, just not the map packs and crap.

Do I really need ALL the DLC, even the fluff stuff? You mod seems to run fine other than that one research problem.

1. Obviously there must be some sort of issue with those missing map and scenario packs that cause the issue.

2. Haven't you heard of buying a game during Steam Sales? Like $20 bucks man come on. Complete Edition?

You don't need the map packs, but make sure you own all leader DLC. Also make sure you are loading the mods, hitting next, then starting your game.

So for every change or addition in this pack there's something I also don't like. Is there any way to better pick and choose what elements to install? It seems a mostly all or nothing thing.

I like the changes to tile improvements and most buildings, but I hate the confusing requirements for wonders.
I like the slightly slower pace of research, but I hate that I can't ever seem to get ahead even as Babylon.
I like the city happiness system and that luxuries are less powerful, I like the monopolies system. I like the changes to religion.
I absolutely can't stand the changes to sieging cities. The entiee siege part seems gone, hit a city once or twice with a tebuchet then walk in.
I like that the overall balance of the game seems more balanced in wide vs tall.
I really like the civ 4 style diplomacy options, vassal states, map trading and so on.

I'd love to just have:
Basic community patch bug fixes and improvements
new luxuries/monopolies
new social policies/religion
new happiness system and tile improvement bonuses (like build 3 farms together for a bonus)

I've had the bug/error where corporate/monoply page opens upon entering a game and I cant seem to close it.
The only way I am able to get rid of it is if i don't use CSD and the compatibility mod anyone have any idea what I've done wrong?

I have another issue with Territorial Disputes. I (as JFD's Burgundy) was on one continent, :c5angry: Denmark was on another. We were very far apart, so they obviously wanted to settle where I was. Problem was the only city I founded was my :c5capital: Capital. The other mods were :c5faith: Historical Religions Complete, [civ5] MC's Civ Splits (Polynesia, Greece, and India), :c5culture: Cultural Diversity, :c5influence: Unique Cultural Influence, :c5greatperson: the Enlightenment Era, :c5goldenage: Renaissance Era Revised, :c5happy: More Luxuries and :c5faith: Pantheons, :c5moves: Exploration Continued Expanded, and [civ5] Events and Decisions.

You can toggle some elements in the options file, but keep in mind that the game is balanced as a whole.

I hate the confusing requirements for wonders.
You mean the policy requirements? Seems everyone was happy about it, but I suppose you can edit the xml files in the balance patch and set the social policy number requirements for all wonders to "1"

I hate that I can't ever seem to get ahead even as Babylon.
Of course you can. You just probably need more practice with this mod, it is very different from the vanilla game, where AI civs got huge bonuses in the beginning, while in VP, the bonuses are more evenly spread out throughout the game.

I absolutely can't stand the changes to sieging cities. The entiee siege part seems gone, hit a city once or twice with a tebuchet then walk in.
This sounds more like a bug or a bad install (or some mod conflict???). Are you on the latest version? I think 3-4 versions ago there was this bug when AIs were not prioritizing the defensive buildings enough. What you are describing should not be happening unless you are attacking a newly built undefended town with advanced units.
