Community Patch - How To Install

1) Do you have all the DLCs?
2) Have you ever managed launching the game with other mods?
3) Are you absolutely sure that after you activate the VP components in the Mods screen, you do not go back to the main game menu and launch the game unmodded game? Many people make this mistake
4) When you manage to launch the game and open the ingame menu and click "mods" there, can you see the VP components there?
5) Aren't you subscribed to CP on Steam? Or any other mods using Whoward's Various DLL components? If yes, even just being subscribed or just having them in the Mods folder (without activating them) can cause problems

Hello!

1) Yes, I do!
2) No. My game crashes even when my Mods folder only contains the VP-related mods.
3) Yes, I am sure I did not do that.
4) As I said, when I try to launch the game using VP (only VP, no other mods) it crashes, and in the rare instances when it actually gets into the game without CTD, the game will be so bugged I can barely do nothing. The same effect doesn't happend when I launch vanilla.
5) No I am not and never was actually. I only donwload from this official thread. As I said, I am a long time lurker.

Sorry, is there a way to enable only the changes to Civilizations without any of the other mods or changes? I happen to quite enjoy JFDLC, and want to run it without losing any of its features, but I very much like how much more balanced Civs are in this mod.

In addition, is there a way to remove the requirement that the Community Patch be installed? I am actually running it, but given that JFD's mod pack has a different name for it Vox Populi isn't recognizing it.

1) Not possible without a lot of works. Some of the civ changes rely on the mecanical changes made. The "easiest" way would be to create your own mod and copying all the new effect for civs

2) A relevant note is: as soon as you have two copy of the same mod (even with slightly different names or version) in your MODS folder, even if only one is enabled, the civ 5 mod manager will have bugs and may fail to correctly load your mods. So make sure you never have the two version of Community Patch in your MODS folder.
If you play with Vox Populi, I strongly advise keeping the version from the auto-installer rather than the version from JFDLC. But anyway, the part you are looking for is in the ".modinfo" file of every mods. There is the list of the required mods.

JFDLC and VP are not compatible in general. You may manage to take some of the things of one and put it on the other, but it is not advised. I'd rather advise you to switch from one to the other depending on your mood, since both are great mods.

JFDLC requires CP.

Hello, G. I am trying to play with this set up:

-(1) Community Patch
-(1a) Community Patch - C4DF Addon
-EUI

Unfortunately I cannot make this work with EUI. I understand that playing with CP + EUI only requires the LUA CP folder to be deleted for full compatibility, but what is the process I should take in order to play with the CP + CP C4DF Addon + EUI? I have tried everything, deleteting the LUA folders, deleting specific LUA files, installing the CP Compatibility Patch, but to no avail.

Also, something funny happens when I install and run both CP + C4DF Addon: a third folder appears on my MODS folder called "(1a) Civ IV Diplomatic Features - CP (v 1)" but this third folder does not appear on my Mods list when I run CIV V.

Any help?

I don't think JFD supports EUI at all. So that's your hangup here.

But I am not using JFD. The other guy who posted before me is. I am just trying to run my game with the setup I showed on my previous post.

Sorry, misunderstood your question - EUI is not supported with 1+1a. That was Putmalk's decision, not mine (as he makes C4DF).

In that case, where in the game files can I find all the new effects so that I can copy them in?

As an alternative, would it be possible to have JFDLC override CBO whenever the two make conflicting changes?

Hey, I just installed the latest version. The thing is, none of the resources from more luxuries appear at all. I have had this problem before, but I can't remember how I fixed it. I usually use the tectonic map script, but it doesn't seem to be the problem

Well, so far all I found out is that the game registers the new resources just fine (I can place them with IGE) but they are not generated. Other then that I haven't been able to find a solution
