Community Patch - How To Install

just don't enable the balance patch and you're set.

Sadly not that simple, it seems. There are options for enabling this mod and that mod all over the place as far as I can tell.

CSD and civ4 diplo support is pre-enabled in the community patch, the balance patch is optional :) the OP needs to be updated, it's a bit misleading at the moment.

"If you have additional mods you believe belong in this list, let me know!"

I would like to request the Historical Religions mod, if it isn't already compatible (it wouldn't work with Communitas).

If we're mentioning mods that we like to use, I have two more:

Randomize City Names (Steam Link), just randomizes the names of cities founded (except capital), no problems from this.

Really Advanced Setup (Thread), allows you to set free yields, units, map explored, etc., I use it all the time to make Later Starts not taking exceedingly long to set up as the standard starting amounts are too low. I've been using it not as much (as I was trying to get a feel for the early game again), but I fear there might be some issues. I haven't seen one yet so far though.

why is the City Working Radius mod included in the recommended list? it seems quite unbalanced, adding another ring of tiles for hanging gardens and all indian cities.

The word "recommended" is wrong but there is a valid explanation after it saying "The following list of mods is known to work with the Community Patch. If you want to use them, you'll need to download them using the links below."
So they are recommended because they are proven to work, not because they are actually balanced.

Hi, I'm a big fan of your work! This project is awesome!

One question, why you don't put the project on steam? It would be fast for the people to install the updates via steam, instead of doing it manually. :crazyeye:

Regards!

I'm not in charge of the mod, but I think it's too unstable at the moment (not in terms of crashing but in terms of development and testing): the happiness system still needs a bit of testing, the policy overhaul is coming and so on. Steam is kind of a not-so-good place to discuss things, most people just install Steam mods and stick to the Steam forums.

That's fine for stable releases, but there aren't really stable releases at the moment. I wouldn't be surprised if it made its way to Steam then.
