Community Patch - How To Install

Tooltip with yield, tile type and improvement doesn't show when I mouseover, no buildings are visible in the city and I cannot choose production in the city.

Loaded just CSD. The city bar looked normal, but still no buildings and I was not able to choose production, I'll redownload the CSD mod. But no idea what's wrong with CulDiv, as by itself it loads just fine.
That's what I'm getting too, especially re: production. Tried going down just to CP (66.3.2) and CBP (12.5.1), deleted cache and moduserdata, and followed instructions in OP for lack of CSD, but still can't produce anything/get past turn 1.

Not sure what the problem is.
 
Quick question. Will 66.3.2 break saved games played with 66.3.1? Oh &, for the record, the Tourism issue seems to be completely gone now. Somehow I must have left the other version of H&P in my mod folder, & was using that instead of yours-it's the only explanation that makes any sense!

It is probably not save compatible. You can try it, but no promises. :)

Glad to hear the tourism bug was resolved! I figured that might be the case.

Yeah, the problem seems to be that, because I was subscribed to the original mod, it kept downloading new versions after each time I deleted it. So I thought I was using yours, but turns out I was using the original without realising it!

Pretty sure the production error above has something to do with not using CSD and following the instructions to that effect. Now using the 'test mods' and can progress beyond turn 1.

That's a lua issue mentioned on the install page. You have to move the lua files from the inactive/nocsd LUA folder into the active folder and overwrite the files.

Yeh. I know. I did all of that. As I said. I have a workaround for now (above) and maybe if someone has the same issues I (and those others) did they will see it and act accordingly.

+1, Can I use the new balance patch with the old CP?
 
Gazebo, Sukritact released an update to Events and Decisions, perhaps you'd like to make a new CBP version of it. Also he reported a larger update coming as a separate submod (because it will rely on Whoward's DLL/CP).
 
Just throwing out a question here, has anyone been able to play saves after quitting to desktop? I don't know if this would cause the issue honestly but I figured I would ask and hopefully get an answer.

I play a game (Which works just fine.) but when I save, quit the game, and come back to it later I CTD when I try to load any of the saves.
 
Community Patch is a really great mod combinig dll files of a few good mods, which allows to play them all together :-)

I must admit, that OP is not precise and many people can get confused not knowing what this mod does and how to use it's features - maybe you should re-write OP to make it clear?

As I understand it combines City States Diplomacy mod dll with Civ IV Diplomatic Options Mod dll and Smart AI Mod dll and many, many dll tweaks from Whowards Variuos mod components Mod.

All of this dll functions can be enabled by installing Whoward's "enablers" - minimods available to download from his Pick'n'Mix website.

Community Balance Patch is an additional mod for Community Patch with tech-tree reworked, some new buildings added and some tweaks to balance game with this new tech-tree and buildings.

So - if I wat to play with vanilla BTS tech tree with just smarter AI and diplomatic features from Civ IV I should download and unzip to MODS folder only Community Patch Mod, Civ IV Diplomatic Options Mod, remove dll file form Civ IV Diplo Mod and install two Whoward's "enablers" - an AI Smart Mod and "Diplomacy - Civ IV features mod.

I don't have to downolad Smart AI Mod, because it's included in the CP, but needs enabling with Whoward's AI Smart mod.

I have to download Civ IV Diplo Features mod (and delete it's dll file), because CP contains only dll part of this mod, but the not-dll code is still needed.

To enable Civ IV Diplo Features I have to install Whoward's "enabler": Diplomacy - Civ IV Features to activate the dll code in CP.

Am I right?

One more question - I see, that Smart AI is included, just needs enabling with Whoward's AI Smart Mod.

What about AI Unintelligence Mod?


I see there are its files in CP, but I would like to know if AI Unintelligence mod dll features are included in CP's dll or it contains only the non-dll AI Unintelligence Lite version?

If there are dll features of full version of AI Unintelligence Mod - is it enabled by default or I need to download some "enabler"?

I've noticed a bug with enabled "Global - Raze Major Capitals"

There's a Crash To Desktop when AI captures other AI's Capital City, and this Capital was the last city of defeated AI...
