Community Patch - How To Install

No need to be patronizing here. He's was a legitimate question, and no pushing tone added that I can feel. This is one, if not the most, of the best-behaved sub-forums in CF, in its entire history, proven by not a single mod intervention so far; in this sense, it resembles more the EU Paradox forum than an average CF forum.

As for his question, many of us have the same, and also because we have another life, and cannot afford starting a session when it will be rendered useless by the next patch. Nobody is pushing Gazebo, it's his creature after all, but many would like to know at least approximately.

Bottom line, please no self-proclaimed mods in here.

I wouldn't say 'no' mod interventions. One of our members has been sanctioned at least once. :)

Update is coming along, still making sure v67 merge didn't break anything.

Didn't see that happening... still, only one.

Take a look at the MCR post I just wrote, you may find it food for thought.

Oh, and about the merge, I am 100% confident that it broke something. It's the First Law of Merges: something always breaks. That is why I asked you about it, when the gain does not sound at all valuable.

Merges are necessary. The CP needs to maintain parity with the VMC and incorporate bugfixes - it is my unwritten promise to Whoward for his invaluable help in getting the CP off the ground.

Oh, OK, that explains it all. Ethical reasons are powerful in my dictionary, and I celebrate they are in yours too.

When the new version is ready for release. Don't push Gazebo. Although he is releasing new versions faster than we can playtest them, it seems that apart from working on CPP, Gazebo also works at university and has private life :) I think he is merging some new stuff from the new WHoward's DLL, which can be very time consuming, so I think even he does not know when it will be ready.

Is there anything particular you are waiting for? It seems the latest 10/23 version is stable and quite balanced. If you are concerned about the herbalist wrong yields, go to the thread about the 10/23 version, I posted how to change the yields in XML files manually, it is very simple.

Ok, thanks for the answer. And sorry Gazebo for "pushing" you

No need (I don't think I said I was pushed), I don't mind info update requests. I work with college students, so I'm quite used to getting messages about grading etc. and wanting it now! ;)

I think that was meant for me :(

Sorry, I did not mean to be patronizing. I probably should not have said "Don't push Gazebo." or should have added more smilies (I am really bad with these) :)

I literally meant that as Gazebo is doing other stuff too we cannot ask him to give us exact dates. And there was no hidden meaning when I asked if shader301202 was asking for anything in particular. This I also meant literally. There were several people asking for the herbalist fix, so if it was it, I directed him to the fix.

shader301202, I hope you did not feel bad or offended, that was not my intention.

is this normal?

No, this is definetely not normal, but I have seen this here in the bug thread several times. It is also mentioned in Estebanium's install PDF:

https://mega.nz/#!vApnySCQ!WhZ8rzzZA39rJn8kvctZp8PRUpIjpZd_6fwzEVzq9HE

It seems to be caused by EUI installed in the wrong folder. Check if you can find "UI_bc1" in your Civ5 folder, e.g.:

C:\Program Files (x86)\Steam\SteamApps\common\Sid Meier's Civilization V\assets\DLC\UI_bc1

If your Civ5 game is installed in a different folder/drive, reinstall CBP and choose the correct folder for EUI when prompted.

Cyberian has disabled the TopPanel from EUI. I have the same bug, when I disable the TopPanel.

how do I change that?

anyway my game is just redownloading and should hopefully be clean of all settings
did not play Civ5 for many months and back then I remember messing with lots of settings and mods

That would make sense, but I think it is enabled by default, no? So I suppose that right after the clean install, you should be getting the correct top panel?
Also by disabling the TopPanel, do you mean manually deleting a related file/folder in EUI or changing some settings in the options?

By deleting the ModUserData folder in addition there should be everything vanilla, related to the appearance of the User Interface. He says that he just installed CPP, so I assume that there went something wrong with the installation. EUI in detail, I am pretty sure that the path that was posted here will lead to the U1 folder, but that's it. The game is more likely in a different directory..

THX guys works now

I think it was just the install directory
My Games path was correct but part of my steam library is on E drive and he assumed C
anyway did not hurt cleaning up the game

Yep, that's what I think is happening and that's what I wrote in my previous post, quoting your PDF install document ;)

My game version is 1.0.3.18

And it is not compatible with this patch, thus i cannot play with JFD's Exploration and expand Patch, nor can i use this Comunity patch.
