Community Patch - How To Install

I am plaing now Vox Populi with all 6 options activated (community patch, balance, diplomacy,luxuries....) without EUI.
Is it possible thaat there are bugs in the social policies? For example in Liberty --> "Collective rule" no settler shows up when activated?
If yes I will create bug report, if not, please explain my mistake :)
Btw, played several 100 rounds in Hot Seat Modus, absolutely no problems regarding crashes and such things.

Note: if using standard EUI with just the Community Patch (the 'Core' Installation), there's one additional step. Delete the LUA folder from the Community Patch. You will lose some interface changes from the Community Patch, but EUI will work normally.
Well appreciate your help but I'm using the full Vox mod. Which is why I'm finding this strange. The automatic installer i would assume should be fully updating my EUI

I think that your Civ5 is in a non-English language, correct? If yes, then either switch your game language to English (you can do it somewhere at Steam) or read the install instruction, there should be a link to Estebanium's thread which explains how to setup Vox Populi for a non-English language.

You are seeing some vanilla descriptions - the said policy should nit be giving you a settler and the tree is not called Liberty, but Progress now (this is how I found out your game is not in English) :-)

Not playing with EUI myself, so I won't be of much help, but I'd suggest posting a screenshot first, so that other people can tell you if your EUI is messed up or not.

Is your Steam in a non-standard folder? I'd try deleting the EUI manually - I don't remember the exact location, but I think it was somewhere in Program Files/SteamApps/common/Civ5/DLC/ and the EUI folder is named UI_bc1 - and then running the autoinstaller again. If the UI is completely messed up, then it means the EUI landed in a wrong place. You have to find it (it probably created the default folder structure where your Steam would normally be) and move it to your correct non-standard folder.

Also, I remember when I tried out EUI that you could customize it quite a bit - both from the in-game options and by messing with the subfolders. Have you done any of these? If it works otherwise, you may be just running a different setup ... ?

Ahh. I'm familiar with all the in game features. But if something can be customized with the sub folders, i have not ventured into this. Thank you! At least i think i understand how they have changed some of these additional features.

@vyyt: You are absolutely right, regarding the language setting. I changed it to english now, and now I know why nearly no social policie does what I expected :)
Thanks a lot, now everything makes more sense hehe ...

Hey y'all! Is it possible to disable some components of CBO? I want to disable the Happines Mod. And is it possible to use this mod but disable the modded tech tree and use the vanilla tech tree?

Hi,
1. Changing the CBO could possibly turn the whole game upside down. So, not possible?
2. Advance setup mod could probably help you disable the whole happiness system but I never got to test it out yet.
3. Revert Technology tree back to normal? I don't know. You could?? ( if its possible, civ v lords could probably play with prehistoric mod too I guess)
I hope this helps you, even a little in your mission to win your next game as the supreme overlord.

Oh, I got a problem too it seems. There's no new luxury (all the integrated more luxury mod except glassware and one other thing that city state produce) spawning in any of the maps (even the modified Terra!) and putting the original mod will CTD. Help!

Nope, how do you imagine it would work? There are buildings tied to the new technologies and buildings affect the happiness via the new happiness system - which by the way I consider to be the best feature of CBO.

You can always play with the CP part only (which fixes bugs and improves AI), but then you will be missing the other parts of CBO.

Technically, you could try disabling the new happiness system in the options file (if the option had not been removed), but as stated above, I think it will break the game completely.

Make sure that you do not have the original More Luxuries in the mods folder (even inactive - delete it, as it shares the mod ID with the VP one) and also make sure you are not subscribed to it at Steam Workshop. I'd also make sure that your Civ5 is up to date (the latest version is .279 - you can see it at the bottom of the welcome screen after the intro animation when you launch the game).

Thank you,
Testing it. I'll come back to this later.

Nope, Cache and mod deleted. I have maximum natural wonders mod installed that modify mapscripts, is that a possible reason?

hi everyone, I am a new guy who is not familiar with CP and CBP. recently I grab some concepts from the threads and want to try playing a game with CP only.
my quick question is the following:
1.if I want to play a game with only CP, which one should I download? currently I am using EUI (the latest version) and inforaddict, IGE. there are lots of updates happening everyday, and I am now confused. which version should I choose to play? please help me out.
2. I would love to add enlightenment era, future worlds, Gazemo's more luxuries and Nutty's Ethnic diversity mod into the game, I don't know if doing that might trigger compatible problems. So I need someone to help me that as well. I know there is a compatible patch for CP and enlightenment era, but could someone please send me a link for that? the threads grows more and complicated everyday and unfortunately, I have no time to track everything. So...if someone want to help me out, I would be much appreciated for that.
3. here is another question, I want to incorporate civilization IV diplomatic features into a game with CP and I know there is a CP version of that, but for the sake of saving time, I would like to ask someone, politely, in this thread to give me a link. Thanks in advance. btw, forgive me my bad English. : )

1. If you only want the Community Patch (rather than the gameplay overhaul), then you're only gonna want the CP Core; choose "Manual Download" from the OP of this thread and only download the version starting with (1). If you're using EUI with it, then you're gonna want to delete a file called LUA inside this mod; it'll be a top level file. Ofc since you're then going to be using JFDDLC you're then gonna have to stop using EUI but that's a minor detail :P

2. The core CP alone doesn't require any special compatibility stuff; just use the vanilla versions of these mods.

3. Aaaand that's where I pass over to someone who actually uses the whole package :p

choose "Manual Download" from the OP of this thread

Why the manual download??? You can just simply use the autoinstaller and choose the CP only option. You do not have to delete any folders, the autoinstaller will take care of everything, no?

I personally find the manual download easier, but I guess that's because I know what I'm doing :p

I have switched over to the autoinstaller long time ago. You just download it, run it, choose which part of the package you want and never have to worry if you forgot to delete the right folder again.

I don't mean to sound mean or anything, I just do not think recommending a manual install to a newcomer is a good idea if there is a much easier option.
