Complaint Sub-Forum

I think quite a few posters are getting too focused on the specific suggestion, instead of trying to understand the very reasonable frustration behind the OP.

Similar to how it's been pointed out that people critical of the game don't always get their point across correctly, but these criticisms can come from a place of valid frustration.

Or we can go for pithy takes because we feel our opinions are being threatened by the mythical, 100% unlikely to happen because this thread isn't in Site Feedback, "complaints subforum".

I don't see how that's more constructive than a good faith attempt at understanding where the OP is coming from, but I guess others know better.

If you feel that’s the best use of your time, who am I to stop you. But I thought this thread had nice empathy and understanding for the most part, and some nice ideas on how to make it better.

Sometimes I wish we had a separate sub-forum for complaints. I get it. Lots of people don't like the game. It definitely needs some work, but I try to come in and see some interesting discussions on strategy or people talking about cools things that happened and all I see is complaints.

I think complaining is valid and useful, I just wish I could avoid it unless I wanted to see it.
There are plenty of those topics in this forum. It’s just that the complaint threads are more active… probably because the game is sitting at a 63% negative rating right now lol

It’s just that the complaint threads are more active
I find it sad that so many people think complaining about something over and over and over again is normal activity for a person. It's and unhealthy thing to do and unhealthy for people to read. I've mostly given up participating in CFC and only come back to update mods. My observation is lots of people have left and are now active elsewhere talking civ.

(Not a comment about you @Askia Muhammad , just my thoughts in general on about active threads)

That's what i was mostly doing, but since i discovered civmods i do all my updates and downloads on that app, it still brings me back here though when i click on a new mod to see what it's all about. I just look in here daily to see if there's a conversation i'm interested in but that's about it.

I DO want to know what else there is to talk about.

If only there would be more information for the player presented how the game actually works instead of hiding it all away in game. Game lacking several concepts also make it more shallow compared to previous versions.
Best thing is to create new interesting topics here instead of blaming others for a lack of conversation.
The fandom wiki is the best source i've seen, it's often my go to as the civilopedia needs some serious work to make it better.

It might be nice though, to be able to ignore an entire thread forever if you want. Maybe they could add that feature, and people could decide for themselves which threads are overly-complaining.

IMHO it’s not so easy to mark entire threads as complaining for everyone because people often come share different viewpoints in them too, and all their comments would then be labeled complaining too.
You can just unwatch it, and you never get alerts there, again, unless someone tags or quotes you. Deleting all comments you made in that thread will likely complete the job.

lol. I know that would upset a lot of people. Personally if people want to vent they should be able to, I’ve just become tired of seeing all the negativity towards a game I enjoy.
I enjoy the game too! But can't play it because of bugs the last patch introduced (I mean, game-breaking stuff that makes it impossible to play, not just minor things). In 30 years playing this game, I've never seen that happen before. Patches have in the past always improved the game, never broken it!
