2) Played a King level duel with both nations as Egypt. Built a burial tomb in the city nearest to the enemy and let them take it. Tried to take the city back and get the achievement that way - but ALL the buildings were gone

Burial Tombs are always destroyed on city capture, which is why this doesn't work. Some have speculated that this is actually the reason the achievement is broken, but changing it in the XML never helped in 0.621 and I just haven't cared enough to try again in 1.135. For the most part I've stopped worrying about broken achievements until I see someone post here with confirmation it is fixed or I see a much higher percentage in the global stats.

Siglo de Oro (Beat New World Scenario as Spain) works, as does Dr Heidegger's Experiment and Raleigh's Road to Riches (Two new natural wonders in the New World)

So does Khaaan! (Run out of time to beat the Mongol Scenario)

i didn't got Dr Heidegger's Experiment and Raleigh's Road to Riches is that becuase i didn't played the senerio because in normal games i had seen those 2.

Just finished an Immortal domination game that had Egypt in it. I took 4 or 5 of their cities (including Thebes) in the Modern Era but none of them had burial tombs. Since Egypt had built around 80% of the wonders in that game and were no.1 in almost every demographic (until they declared war on me ) I find it hard to believe that the achievement is working. However, 0.1% of people have unlocked it.

My conclusion is that either (i) Egypt rarely build their UB, or (ii) the achievement is broken but some people have managed to find a way round it.

Has anyone on here unlocked it?

(Just a thought, but what about if you play as Egypt, build a burial tomb in a city, and then allow that city to be captured by someone else. Might be worth a try?)

I unlocked it today, but not in any way that's going to help anybody because it was clearly a glitch. I was playing *as* Egypt, and I took a Roman city. And it wasn't even a city that had changed hands or was once mine, it was an original Roman city. And yet as soon as I take it, the pop up came up that I had unlocked the achievement.

Seems broken.

(This was on the Mac version, btw.)

I suspected it still might be. I haven't tested out:

1) I have the power
2) The two online achievements
3) The research pact achievement

Since the 12/22 hotfix, it appears that achievements_debug.log no longer gets updated on my system. Anyone else noticed this and, if so, how to get it reenabled?

Hello together!

(At first I have to say sorry for my English, languages were never my friend. Also I play the German version, so don't take it by heart if I call the achievement wrong.)

I've read that tread since C5 was rolled out but never wrote something, but now i can't stop me, because it's been really annoying...

Anybody can confirm the following regular and not hidden achievements to be strange:

Khaaan! --> I won the game on king by points and after 100 rounds, but didn't get it. Get the King-achievement, but not the one for winning over time.

Tombraider --> Ok, nothing more to say about that, played several times vs. Agypt, various difficulty, various time area, plunderd improvements, captured cities, ... didn't get it.

Archaemennid --> Played with Darius and had 9 golden ages (1 by social, 2 by happiness and 6 by great persons) but didn't get the achievement. Pls don't tell my, that I had to have 5 golden ages by happiness...that means a damn lot of happiness!

Since 21/12/2010 the achievement_debog.log didn't refresh...got achievements in Steam, but not in the log.

The Khaaan! description is sorta confusing but the internal name in the debug log is "ACHIEVEMENT_LOSE_SCENARIO_01" so I think you need to actually lose the scenario for this one to trigger; even though you ran out of time, you won so you got the win achievement instead of the Khaaaan! achievement.

Although temples are given for Industrial starts, Burial Tombs are not given free in any era in the unmodified game. You'll have to wait for Egypt to build them manually (or do a bit of XML-editing ).

May I request knowledge about what I'd have to do for this?

Also, how exactly does War Canoe for Askia work (as it seems to be fixed now)? Do I just have to conquer a city on another continent in a continent map?

Burial Tomb is still bugged, don't worry about it for now.

For Askia I started a new game, clicked the "advanced" settings, selected map type as "continents," duel (or tiny) size, modern start, then just took an APC across the water and attacked a city (either landing first or amphibious directly against the city).

The achievements_debug.log file has also stopped being updated for me since the 1.141 patch (22 Dec). I am getting steam achievements though.

Found the Eldorado on a standard map and I didn't get the achievement. When found it while playing the scenario, it did. I've seen it myself once or twice, but I've played many times.

Has anyone done Ruler Of The Seas? It is still at 0%
