I can't seem to trigger the discovery ones (Hawaii, New Zealand, and Easter Island) even though I find them.

Nevermind. Now just need "Do you have a little Captain in you?".

I have yet to be able to find New Zealand or Hawaii in the random maps. Is there some trick to this I am missing?
They're not where they normally are, I found NZ Where Hawaii is normally and Hawaii east of where NZ is.

Easter Island took a while to find - many games, and finally I had to explore almost the entire map.
Something.. probably the latest patch broke my hall of fame file. So I had no other choice and had to use other ways to check how many victories I have. Luckily there is also a program called SQLite Database Browser. Freeware, no installation needed. Just point to Your halloffamedatabase.db file.

It appears the broken achievements have been removed...I now have 135/138. Even though I could have sworn the burial tomb one was broken too. But some people do have it and it wasn't removed.

Yeah, the XML page is down to 138 too. Of the 14 achievements previously believed to be broken, only "Model of a Modern Major-General" and "Tomb Raider" remain. Updated full list spoiled below.

If they remove the broken ones, why didn't they remove all the broken achievements? Modern Major General is still very much broken, 'cause building a Lancer post-patch hasn't triggered it for me yet and the log from before december 16th clearly states that a lancer is all I need for the achievement...

Yes, definitely only 138 now listed. I hope removing them is in preparation for replacing them with working ones. I'm not holding my breath though.
It seems like other players here have unlocked several Polynesia-achievements, but I can't seem to unlock any except the ones "Win as...". What's the secret of this? For instance, I played through a random map game and plainly found NZ, but no message came up, and afterwards the achievement was still locked.
Also, when is Cpt. Cook due to enter the scene? I hung around after winning the game until late 19th Century, but nobody came. What's the deal there?
Last question: On random maps, does Australia, NZ, Hawaii and Easter Island appear in every map, or randomly some or all on a case-by-case basis? In my random map, I only recognized NZ, and as I said, didn't get any achievements..

This is the third time I've tried, twice finding Australia on SP map and once at least finding NZ on random, and all three times researching Scientific Theory.. Still only the "Win game as Tonga/Samoa/Haiti"-achievement has appeared.. What can I be doing wrong? Also tried to start the Paradise Lost from MOD and SINGLE PLAYER SCENARIO..
