Computer Questions Not Worth Their Own Thread II

Source Engine games (Gmod, Half Life, TF2, Portal, L4D2), Fallout 3 & New Vegas, Resident Evil 5, Call of Duty: World at War, Mass Effect series, Minecraft, and Terraria.

You're on a Civilization forum for crying out loud, I think you forgot something!

Has anyone else have any issues with Google Images redirecting you to a rogueware site?

I have two questions,
1) How much faster is Sandy Bridge than Pentium 4 clock for clock?

2) I'm looking for software to replicate a computer case and then scale it up, any ideas?

Someone told me not to do something with my computer because I may break the time-space continuing (I can't remember the right spelling). What's this mean? Will it break my OS?

The time-space continuum? Sounds like they're joking with you.

EDIT: In other words, you'll mess up the universe if you mess with the computer. ;)

Yeah, that's probably it. Maybe they meant what I wanted to do was very stupid.

I have a different question. On the advice of the webhost I installed a plugin on WordPress to optimize the database. I usually do it once a day or so. But sometimes on days when I do absolutely nothing on my site, some table like wp_options will still optimize maybe 0.02 kb or something. Why?

You were probably trying to divide by zero, or maybe access Bing from a Chrome browser or something.

Why won't Netflix streaming work in Chrome's incognito mode?

Google no help but perhaps, do you need to login? I dont know how incognito works but it may not do the cookies right.

my mom has a friend who claims his computer got struck by lightning & there was smoke and flashes and bangs and stuff. i don't realy believe it. i think that probably a power surge popped his power supply unit. because the house didn't catch fire or anything. does that sound right?

Sometimes there will be errors with silly large numbers like "54849439434 MB required for download." I've been thinking and are they usually caused by a missing decimal point?

There's a mass of blurs shooting up the right side of the monitor on my laptop and the entire screen is blurred with a few horizontal bars shooting across the screen. Occasionally a vertical rainbow bar will flash across the screen. What the hell is going on and how can I stop it?

Why does Windows 7 keep installing updates every time I shut down? And how do I fix this? It's been doing this now for over a month. It can't possibly be installing updates for this long. Somehow it's stuck. And it give you the message don't unplug your computer or whatever. So I have no choice but to wait for the long shutdown on my computer. It's starting to get annoying especially when I'm in a hurry to get out of the house.
