Cookbook #2 - horrible difficulty

I will try to look at the saves after work, but I may not have time. I don't want to vote just based on comments though. I'm probably the weakest player here though, so my vote should probably count half anyway.

I'll abstain from voting this turnset.
I wasn't on top of things when playing, and I have not yet taken the time to look through all saves enough to justify me ranking them, and won't have time to do so in time.
Everyone who took part gets a small + from me, and I'll try to do better next set.

Unfortunately I do not have much time, so probably will not vote.

Same here, I don't have access to Civ while travelling but I've read and enjoyed the whole discussion. So while I can't vote I very much look forward to playing the next round from one of the winning saves.

3 players have made really excellent efforts and are all getting two points from me. The order here represents very small differences or simply my personal preference.

1st place (2 points): Lymond
Lymond has completed the GW and still has decent chances at the Pyramids. Both Delhi and Bombay will be well-established quite soon. I'm a little concerned at only having 2 cities and 1 worker at this point, with no workers or settlers in production. Delhi's lighthouse will ease the burden by making coast tiles into mini-cottages.

2nd place (2 points): Lain
Lain's save has by far the highest probability of scoring the Pyramids, which has been growing on me in importance. The fogbusting situation is also quite good. My concerns are that Bombay will languish at 1 population for some time, and that settlers #3 and #4 won't be produced for a little while, although the high maintenance costs on deity soften the impact of this.

3rd place (2 points): Sampsa
Sampsa's save has gotten the most done productivity wise, at the cost of every forest within hundreds of miles. The Great Wall is a big advantage, Stonehenge is pretty good too, but getting the Pyramids in a timely manner will be quite difficult. Also, the very annoying barbarian city will likely curtail expansion to 3 cities for a little while.

Also, some honorable mentions (saves that have certain really good elements but too many other issues):
Gumbolt (Nice productivity, but some fogbusting issues, weird choice of hunting and Bombay stuck at size 1)
Krikav (Bombay placement is quite interesting and I like researching pottery, but fogbusting issues and didn't settle on stone)

Overall, congratulations to all! This map is really tough, and everyone who submitted saves did a good job. Best of luck in round 2!

New round starts

You can pick from those 4 saves:
Swordnboard
Lain
Lymond
Sampsa

Play until turn 80 and save your game (re-name always nice too :))
Closes on: Saturday 22th (included)

Quick rules repeat, you have 1 try only for your submitted main game.
Afterwards feel free to play more games from other saves, not further than T80 thou.
Please no details about your game until next Sunday, wait with

I know I'm late to the game and I didn't read or look at anyone's saves until I was done. Feedback would be welcome as I'm really trying to improve my starts and micro.
Hiya, i would say your save is okay..barb defense has high prio on deity, but 5 warriors were too much if you also go for copper, wheel and Axe unlock.
We started in a corner here with less pressure to cover all directions. Masonry has high value when settling on stone, some of those warri hammers could make great failgold or wonders.

Wait so everyone who posts a save beats Lain? must...play... ;)

Merci, okay i see.
Different question thou, should we push the deadline here?
Originally i used only 6 days cos of feedback that most would like to play on faster,
but i can see why this might not be such a good idea before xmas?

Extension would be cool, I'm procrastinating as usual.

Oh good to hear, milady! I was indeed dealing with Fam and other crises this week. ;)
