coolest military uniform.

I'm gonna go and call BS on that...especially as the link is BNP.org.uk
Heh. I just used google image search to find it. Didn't notice anything about BNP. :p

But it is in fact a real picture. It was part of many news articles a year or two ago when it was decided that police women in England may use hijabs.

Times Online, but they use another picture.

I can't seem to find an English media page about it, but here is a Norwegian newspaper with the same women in another picture: http://www.dagbladet.no/2009/02/11/magasinet/hijab/religion/4801656/

I can't say I've ever seen any policewomen dressed like that (though admittdly, where I'm from theyre 99% white)

What's confusing me, is that uniform hasn't been used inBrtian for a while

This is standard:

Standard uniform is a white shirt with a tactical/stab vest over the top, sometimes with a yellow jacket or top.

Another reaosn I was skptical is the hijab obscures the badges of rank, and the police number of the officers; in the UK this is illegal.

The truncheon in question hasn't been used in a good few years either...police use the extndable pocket batons
I cant see any radio

Their uniforms don't even match

The Times article picture looks right, but I'm still calling BS on that pic

Fair enough. This is the London Metropolitan Police if that matters. The picture is apparently theirs.

Oh, and I believe I remember that these police women were part of some "special" unit of the police, in which they didn't have all the powers regular police has. Or was that something else? I'm not quite sure anymore, but I don't have any more time to look for a good English article about it. But I remember even reading the womens names, so until you waterboard me, I'll swear that that picture is real.

Well, we have PCSOs, but they're quite recent, and are immediately obvious because of the blue trim their hats and epaulettes have.

Met Police tend to dress like this:

For what it's wroth, I also found this :D

I gotta agree that, on the whole, Nazi Germany had great uniforms (there may be some better uniforms, but no country can match the Nazis). The only real flaw was the helmet. Just imagine if they kept the pickelhaube or adopted a helmet more like the Brodie helmet (the best European helmet from WWI on).

As for police, it is tough to match a mountie in his red serge:

Unfortunately they are primarily just a dress uniform these days.

Needless to say I am also a fan of the old red coats :)

I think somebody's already mentioned the US Navy's dress blues..

This Roman legionnaire is certainly cool. I'm betting he's downright cold.

German infantry from the Great War, minus the pickelhauben.

Union/Federal army soldier, American Civil War. (1861-1865)

And of course, my favorite. ;)

I was about to consider reporting this, when, y'know...nice fooling there, can't tell the difference between the real thing.
