Core

As Raimundo approached the fence, he heard a snickering noise behind him.

There was a woman behind him. Actually, it would have been better to say a teenager-she looked young. A T-shirt and the pair of jeans she wore were typical of a normal person of Core, bu the shoe she wore was of suspiciously high quality.

"Watch out," she said. "You might actually kill a person with that."

Geoffrey turned around, the kid was up and screaming again, something about killing Gilberto.

Geoffrey shouted "Listen, I didn't kill him! Sit down, kid! You need some more food or something? Would somebody who hurt your friend offer you food?"

"Kid, I am no kid. I am Joseph van de Vooten and I am 23! Then where is Viktor Vasseliev? His son killed Gilberto. I want to kill him."
Joseph was going mad. His memories of his first mission was running through his mind.
"I will tell you where this Red Hand people is if you find me Viktor."
Joseph took out a rat from his pocket, and ate it. He looked the man in the eye.

"Alright, fine. Joseph, I'll try to help you find Viktor, I know enough about him that I might be able to help. First, can we go see my friend Jose? I just want to tell him what happened. After that, we'll look for Viktor."

"Good" Joseph laughed again, and munched on his rat.
He started singing:
They laugh and smoke with all their money
And think their life is as good as honey
But when Joe comes out to play
He makes them sit down and all of them lay
And he takes his gun and points it at their head
And says Good Night, I said Go to bed!

"What is your name by the way"

"Great to meet you Geff!"
Joseph started jumping up and down. He sang again.
He has the name of the one called Geff
He is tall and proud And he is no way near deaf
He is no officer but he is a private eye
And my friends and family that is no lie!
He will sort you out like a ref
My friends his name is Geff!
"I am okay. Let us go!"

"Ok then." The two set out toward the orphanage, not speaking much but Joseph burst into song every once in a while. They eventually arrived at the Orphanage and entered the building. Geoffrey walked up to the receptionist.

"We need to speak to Jose" he said.

"And I will have some smoked rat with cheese!"
Joseph started to sing once again.

They come in large and small
But all they good all in all
And when they come out to play
I have to put my guns away
Because they are tasty and fresh
Especially their lovely greyish flesh!

Geff told him to shut up, but Joe kept on singing, not too loud though.

Anderson sighed, of all the things he could do in Core, he was forced to head to the docks and watch for suspicious characters and arrest a certain person of interest, but if he knew the shadowy world of Core it was easier said than done. Not one to challenge his superiors, perhaps if it was his captain that gave him his orders he might contest this, but this came directly from the top, so Anderson simply tightened his belt and headed out into the night.

As Anderson headed from the Police Station towards the docks he noted many undesirables lurking around and many simply looked away or scampered out of the way as he walked by, only a few would stare directly at him, these he knew belonged to either the Italian or the Russian Mafia. Most Gangs, such as the Red Fingers or Blue Noses are more easier to control and fear than those belonging to the Mafia. Fortunately for Anderson as he walked with his partner Tom Yancy, he realizes that his badge does not rule the streets, it is his size, not many people would dare stand their ground and fight a hand to hand style combat with Anderson, and even the Mafias have few guns, though more than the Police, as rumors report but they cannot supply enough for all thugs.

So as Anderson and Yancy strolled through a particularly nasty stretch of town, ruled by the Italian Mafia, Yancy muttered, "Why do we go through this area? Wouldn't we be better off going through Russian territory or even taking the longer route through the territories of the Red Fingers and Blue Noses?"
Anderson sighed, he has had this conversation with many other officers as well, "Because unlike some of the other gangs, and especially the Russian Mafia, the Italians honor a code. They will not touch cops if we leave them alone, and personally I would prefer strolling through a rough Italian neighborhood than a casual walk through a calm and friendly Russian neighborhood, because in the former I know I will survive, in the latter it is not so clear. So I would suggest you heed this warning and leave the Italians alone. They will be taken care of in due time, but right now both the Russian and Italian Mafia provide a sort of stability in Core that allows us to focus on the more serious threats such as the Red Fingers or other weaker gangs that disrupt the status quo."
Yancy appeared to think on the subject for a bit before he nodded and voiced his agreement and that he would listen to Anderson from this point on. Anderson sighed, then smiled as he thought, 'Well maybe this guy will survive after all.'

Finally the duo arrived at the harbor district and they searched around the docks, finding many junk and broken fences but nothing of interest. They interrogated a bum that was sleeping in a nearby gutter, *"Have you seen this women?" They asked the bum.

OOC: Bolded * I am assuming we have a picture of the women we are looking for. Or a drawing of some sort.

Anderson thanked the bum, tossed some coins at him and headed down the Harbor in the direction the man pointed. He could voices, albeit low but clear in the sea air. Anderson motioned for Yancy to stay close and Anderson gripped his grandfathers old gun tighter and attempted to peer into the darkness. Not daring to use his flashlight in fear of alerting whoever was in the dark. Nonetheless he informed Yancy, who had no gun to hold his flashlight and be ready to turn it on when ordered. Yancy trembled, but still managed to nod. Anderson looked at Yancy and said, "Relax kid, nobody comes into Mafia territory with a weapon and expects to live. They are probably just bums." The words seemed to calm him down, but Anderson knew that they were not bums, it was possible they were mafia members disposing of a body illegally or drug dealers. Anderson hoped it was the latter, he did not want to tangle with the Mafia just yet.

The sounds became louder, and Anderson felt he was close enough, he leveled his gun and pointed in the general direction of the sounds as a precaution and told Yancy to turn on his flashlight. In a commanding voice he yelled out, "Police!" In the beam he spotted someone kneeling by a fence and a young girl. He relaxed a bit, thinking they were teenagers up to no good, but then he saw the face and immediately tensed up. Yancy gasped and nearly dropped the flashlight and muttered, "My god, can we be that lucky?"

Vasiliy exited the building in a sort of daze. Many things swarmed through his head, fighting for dominance. For one used to short, quick thoughts such as him, the sudden surge of information hit him hard. First, Viktor Vassilev himself had personally given him a mission. Second, the mission itself: to contact one of, probably the most powerful man in the city: the head of the Italian Mafia, Giustino Alessandri. And then that begged the question of why the two most powerful mob leaders in Core had to meet. He had to lean against a wall and breathe deeply to calm himself.

After a few minutes, he stood straight and looked around. Not many people around at this time of night. He thought to himself, of whether he should dare go into Italian lands right now, or wait until day came. Did his family even know that he was out? What would they have to say about it if they woke up and found that he was not in the house? But... the don himself had told him this. He didn’t want to make the don mad. Thinking back to the encounter in the room, his mind began swimming again. Electric lights! That kind of money, technology... it was amazing to Vasiliy. It would pay well, very well, this job. His decision was made.

He set out for the Italian Mafia’s lands.

Lolwut? Darkness after 10 AM?
Sorry, but that's the time my RP is set at...

OOC: Small RP, will enlarge in a few hours.

I climb out of my hiding place and join Geoffrey and Joseph, standing so that Geoffrey is between me and Joseph at all times.

Oh sorry. Anyways, its supposed to be days, the update, right? I just skipped the night then. Although I was talking to Germanicus.

Joseph looked at Jose. He remembered what he did, and laughed at the thought.
He than sang out loud.
Little boys come out to play,
Every single night and day,
But this comes one with me,
In search of a lost family,
I laugh alot at the thought,
That i did not get caught,
Of my evil little kill
That always pays the bill

"Don't worry Jose, I won't bite!"

Geoffrey looked at Jose, then Joseph. "Jose, Joseph killed Nana. But I don't think he meant to, and he was hired out by the Red Finger." Geoffrey said, as calmly as possible, he didn't want the two to fight. "Now Joseph and I are going to Viktor Vasseliev and we'll find who's really behind Nana's killing. And if you ever want justice, you're going to have to trust me. Joseph is the only one I know with solid connections to the Red Finger, he's our best shot at taking the gang down."
