Mattias was running in the silence of the night, next to his companions, as they tried to get into the city of Kalaris, that was the capital of the Sardinians ever since Cartago had fallen into the hands of the Army.

The Primer Cuerpo de Guerrilleros of the Tartessian Army was doing its best to reach the walls of the city without being seen, which was a difficult move, because there were several archers in the top of the walls, always watching the outside of the city to make sure that there were no enemies around.

"What should we do, Mattias?" his second-in-command, Andrea, asked.

"It's going to be difficult to follow through with the original plan, there are too many soldiers over those walls to take care of them without being caught," Mattias said. "An assault on the doors is outright impossible, and I won't even suggest we escalate the walls. Any ideas?"

"I have one, Mat," one of the soldiers - Guille, Mattias thought - said. "There are some people in the unit that know to speak in those pirates' language with enough fluency and no accent. If they convince the Sardinians about being from one of the towns in the south that has been attacked, they could be distracted for enough time that we would be able to kill several of those archers and win time for the army to arrive and enter the city."

"It's very risky," Andrea said. "It is very possible that the ones we send to the doors die."

"OK, gentlemen, let's ask them if they are willing to do this before we start the plan. If not... well, then we will just have to plan something very fast."

------------------------------------

To everyone's surprise, the Sardinian-speaking soldiers were very willing to go through with Guille's plan. They, like many others in the Guerrilleros, didn't have any family save for his friends in the Army, and said that dying for their family and their country would be a very high honour.

"Prepare your bows," Mattias said, pointing his bow from his hideout in the forest near the walls of Kalaras. He heard several other bows being tensed at both of his sides, and hoped that this plan would work through.

He couldn't hear what the guys were saying, as they were too far away from the doors to even catch something, and anyway he wasn't very good at understanding Sardinian. A few seconds later, he saw that every archer on the walls had stopped their patrol and were pointing their arrows towards the Guerrilleros in front of the door.

"Crap! What do we do?" Andrea asked.

"Don't shoot! This might only be them being a bit paranoid. Don't shoot unless they do it first or until the doors are opened."

As the order was transmitted, Mattias was worried that this would really end very bad for his men and women (OOC: Yep, the Tartessian Armies admit both men and women). At least, his observation of the archers was correct, as the arrows had not been shot yet.

A few minutes later, several noises were heard from the door and, to the surprise of everybody, the right leaf of the door was slowly being moved towards the outside.

"Don't move until our guys get the control of the door!" Mattias growled, the tension of his back being now as bad as the tension on his bow.

Something metallic shone in the dark night, and suddenly nearly all of the Sardinians on the doors had fallen to the floor, victims of the famed axe-knives of the Guerrilleros, while the last five started to fight some of the Guerrilleros for the control of the left leaf of the door. The archers, who had relaxed their positions after the door started to open, were again pointing their arrows to the Guerrilleros, who were opening the doors wide to use them as a cover.

"NOW! FIRE!" Mattias shouted, letting his arrow go and starting to get other arrow from his bag on the back. At least a third of the enemy archers had died due to the sudden attack, as the arrows hit them in vital zones like their faces or their throats, while others were still alive but incapacitated with arrows on their arms and legs, the pain stopping them from shooting the arrows.

"KEEP ON! DON'T LET THOSE BASTARDS KILL OUR FRIENDS!" Andrea shouted too, shooting other arrow. An archer fell from the walls, hitting the ground six meters down with a sickening crunch.

"GROUP C, KEEP SHOOTING! GROUPS A AND B, WITH ME!" Mattias shouted, and the Guerrilleros prepared to follow their leader.

"RUN!" the leader of the Guerrilleros shouted, and jumped forward towards the doors, where his companions were holding their ground against some axemen that were trying to kill them and close the doors again.

Mattias brought out his axe-knife and attacked one of the Sardinians, who died as the axe cut his head off. Other Sardinian died, a knife stuck in his chest, and the third Mattias met was given a kick in the crotch and then tied down in a few seconds.

"WELL DONE, SOLDIERS, NOW LET'S KEEP THESE DOORS OPENED!"

Mattias then sent group A to the walls, to take out the last remaining archers in that section and to allow group C to reach the doors. It was a matter of minutes before this last task was done.

"We have really taught them what the true meaning of war is!" Andrea said, exhilarated.

"Our task has not finished yet, we have to wait until the army arrives," Mattias told her.

"Mat! I have seen the banner of the Balearian Army!" one of the members of group A said, running down from the walls.

"And just in time," Andrea replied with a big smile.

"Let's wait for them, then, it'll be a matter of minutes before Kalaras falls," Mattias said, although it wasn't needed. The fall of the door into the Guerrilleros hands signalled the end of the war, as Kalaras would not be able to stand the attack of the Tartessian army as it entered the city.

The era of the Pirates of Sardinia has finally ended.

The Secrets of Bronze

As research has finished and Songhai has learned the secrets of Bronze, the King of Songhai looks out, thinking about the other African nations. The Zulu who have just finish their endless struggle with the Congolese barbarians and the great Sea men of Madagaskar, these great nation have yet to learn the secrets of how to use bronze. Both these nation could use this knowledge to greatly benefit their nations. The Zulu's could use it to improve their military and aid in any future barbarians they may find, while the Madagaskar could use upgrade their ship to travel farer and faster an ever before. Perhaps their a deal to be make here.

So the King sent messengers to both the Zulu and Madagaskar to see if they interested and prepare his scholars and metal workers of the trip to show them how, if they agree and send payment.

La Guerra de los Piratas
Emilian Lalen

The fall of the city of Karalas is normally signalled by historians as the end of the Pirates' war between Tartessos and Carthage/Sardinia. The Guerrilleros Broncíneos (a corps derived from the original Guerrilleros, but armed with a bronze axe-knife and armoured with bronze armours instead of stone and leather) played a very important role in the fall of Karalas, as they used subterfuge to make the Sardinians open the doors, allowing them to take control of them so that the main army could enter. Ever since then, the whole world has used the expression "a Karalan's Guerrillero" to signify this kind of warfare, which has even expanded into the territory of the OPs (OOC: TTL PC) and the Interred, as the hackers use special programs nicknamed "Karalan's Guerrillero" to enter other people's OPs through the Interred, making the OP's owner believe they are going to start a program that in reality allows passage to the hackers into the OP.

Once the doors were taken, it only took a few minutes for the army to enter the city, easily defeating Karalan's militia as they weren't well trained against the warfare Tartessos was able to display. Before the day was through, the whole city was under control of Tartessos, and the last aristocrats of the nation had to surrender to their powerful enemy.

It had taken Tartessos nearly four hundred years to finally defeat the piratic nation, but once this happened, many parties were thrown from north to south of the country, as the enemy had been beaten for all times, and would join the powerhouse of Europe.

An unintended consequence of this war would be the disappearance of the nation of Sicilia from the maps, as civil unrest derived from piratic attacks and apathy of the high classes when trying to direct the country exploded, prompting the country to divide in two parts: while the region of Napolitana requested to join the near Kingdom of Milan, the islands of Sicilia and Malta did the same to Tartessos. Both countries, allied in the war against piracy, wasted no time in adding these lands to their nations, thus making themselves bigger.

The final battle of the war in Karalas gave the Guerrilleros even more fame than before, making them one of the most feared military units in the world...

Renaissance; it's quite a ways away.

Damn, it'll take tenths of turns just to reach Renaissance! I'd say that the Great Lighthouse is very overpowered, then, because allowing ships to traverse oceans at any age has become a huge boost for Florida, especially if they are going to be the only ones that can traverse oceans for at least 4 tech levels (Classical, Post-Classical, Middle Ages, Renaissance). Could you just put the limit in the Post-Classical Age? Vikings were able to go from Norway to Iceland and Greenland way before Renaissance started, and Chinese could do the same much before they even knew Europe existed.

The construction of our Zulu Trade Center was completed last year. Emperor Obama in awe about shiny Songhai artifacts...
Several strange artifacts from Songhai origin have been shown to Emperor Obama by Songhai merchants. They look shiny yellow/brown, like nothing we have seen before. The Songhai said they were made of 'bronze'. The Emperor was quite impressed of the shape, hardness and color of the items. Some of the items were tools, pots and pans, while others were weapons like daggers, swords and arrowheads.

Worship They Who Bring You Success

With the Antarctic Aurora being discovered, Emperor Htletchta went to bed, hoping to see the Four Wise Men again. He drifted off to sleep, and there he was in that same green field, stretching for miles and miles with nothing but green. Soon, the four appeared, sitting cross legged and looking exactly as they had the last time they met.

"So...you found the Aurora? Good good...lets hope it helps you." said Pawl happily.

Htletchta shook his head vigorously.

"That Aurora will help you for centuries and centuries to come. Don't go and lose it." said Jun, happily, but in a more serious manner.

"You have given us this great gift, and have set the stage for our rise as a great and powerful empire." exclaimed Htletchta.

"Well, that was the intention," chuckled Ren-go, "we like you guys...and we wanted to help."

"Your great deeds will never be forgotten!" shouted Htletchta.

The four looked at each other and smiled. It was then that Joage produced a book, bound like no other seen by Htletchta, so simple, yet so elegant.

"Its our lyric book," pointed out Joage, "It will help you greatly in the future. Keep it with you."

Htletchta took the book, and held it firmly. He opened it, and golden light poured from it, and into his eyes. Suddenly he knew...it had taught him its contents, from cover to cover...every word, every note...they were now known. The light faded, and Htletchta looked upon the four, and Paul spoke.

"Pretty cool, huh? That is every song we have ever written, all their meanings, stories about us in our lives, and everything you need to know about us."

"But now, we must leave you. Although we will not be visible, know that we will always be watching, always assisting, and always guiding you in all that you do." said John.

The four stood, as did Htletchta. One by one, he shook their hands and embraced them. First Paul, then John, then George, then Ringo. They patted him on the back, and turned to walk into the horizon, and disappeared.

Htletchta awoke in his bed, enlightened, and excited. He hopped out of bed and ran towards the door...but suddenly stopped. He turned, and saw the book laying in the bed. He walked back, grabbed it, and walked out into the light of the door.
