We know not what you want with that worthless land but we accept the trade. Stay out of our lands and there will be peace.

OOC: I will build the Statues on those cliffs of course! To welcome back any trade ships!

Also, I think my Longboats have ocean-going ability already right?

Koryo

Death Squad 4 was deep inside Xenshin territory. The commander, Fag Man Du, and his 10 men had just ambushed a Xenshin village and was cleaning up the remnants. None would be brought back alive for slaves, this time. Death Squad 4 was too deep for that. Everyone put to the sword.

A runner came up to Fag Man Du, and urgently he told the Death Squad commander "M'lahwd. The general has announced a general march into Xenshin lands!"

Fag Man Du looked shocked. Like this... :-O!!!! He had thought the Emperor gave no such order. The Emperor's orders were simply to send in the death squads, and leave the armies to train.

No matter, Fag Man Du set off to join his division, where he was granted audience with the general.

General Fu Man Shu had a commanding presence. He was 6 feet tall, and stout. See, 6 feet tall is very tall indeed for a Koryan.

Fag Man Du bowed, humbly, and acksed, "Sah! The Emperor's orders were to unleash us dogs of death.... Not for a general war against them!"

"Never mind that", said Fu Man Shu, "The Enemy is the one to attack US! WE MUST NOT FALTER!!! WE SHALL CRUSH THE ENEMY BENEATH OUR FEET, THEY WHO START WORTHLESS WARS!"

"Aye aye sah!" shouted Fag Man Du. He bowed again, and left to prepair his squad for the onslaught that was to happen.

Dani Orders
Use the Army and Navy to continue expansion along the coastlines and rivers, villages taken can chose to either pay a tax in money/goods or have their young warriors join our army.

Begin "wonder": the Dani's Saga (+Culture +UU Vikings)
Description: the Dani's Saga is the first attempt to codify Norse mythology, gathering all the loosely connected myths and tales and crafting them into a proper Cultural and Religious movement, out of this the tradition of the Vikings will arise. The Vikings are some of the fiercest Dani Tribesmen and are led by the smart amongst the tribe, they are skilled in warfare, sailing and trading. While their equipment widely varies the Vikings tend to prefer melee weapons to ranged ones, many ending up choosing the trowing axes or, the strongest amongst them, Trowing Hammers. Each group of 25 Vikings has a Snekke, this small vessels are propelled by either sails or up to 24 oars, with a draught of only 0.5 metres (1.6 ft) they can sail on practically any river and can easily be carried by its crew between rivers, allowing the Vikings to achieve unparalleled mobility. This also allows them to be extremely effective at raiding.

From: Tartessos
To: Sicilia and the Hellenic Republic

As we stated before, we would like to sign a trade agreement with you. What do you say?

From Sicilia
To the people from the Great West

Our merchants will gladly deal with you. To ease the trading process, we advise you instruct your merchants to land on the north-eastern side of Sicily. The same tariffs that apply to others will apply to you: if any of your merchants are caught trading with any other merchants, they will be taxed heavily; however, there will be no federal tax on trade between your merchants and ours.

From Sicilia
To Carthage

We have heard rumors that dark-skinned pirates from the west have been interfering with our merchants' trade. Our map-men believe they originated somewhere to your west; will you aid us in destroying these plunderers?

From Sicilia
To the Hellenic Republic

Our merchants bring us news that the men far to your east have a similar dialect with the Great Westerners; being very interested in geography, the king has shipped you a slave obtained in the Great West and would appreciate it if you compared him to the barbarians to your east and confirmed these rumors.

Spoiler Orders :

Invest 1 EP in the economy, specifically agriculture. If I get to choose where my next city goes, could you please make it Malta?

Invest 1 EP in technology.

Continue our policies of not allowing direct trade between other nations and always being the middle man. Tempt Tartetoss merchants into exchanging their goods in Sicily, rather than Carthage (propaganda, the fact that we protect merchants around our waters, etc).

New policy: all lands currently unsettled by Sicilians, but near Sicilian borders, shall be the property of the government, who will then sell it to private owners. Use this to make a bit of money out of selling land in southern Italy to the agricultural elites and/or yeoman farmers.

Encourage merchants to set up a colony on the western edge of the Gulf of Sidra, which should strengthen our hold on central Mediterranean waters. Fund this expedition with money gained from land sales in Italy.

Continue using our fleet to protect merchants et al.

OOC: I think he was talking about Ukraine or maybe Turkey. Read diplomacy.

Songhai Origins

Songhai was original one of a numbers of small tribes along the Niger River. The Songhai are proud and strong tribe being one main tribes insuring peace the surrounding area. They may have just stayed like that if it was not for strangers crossing the Great Desert and attack the area to try claim it for themselves.

Some say the strangers they was exiles the other empire looking for land to start their kingdom, other say they are barbarians wanting to be know and fear all round the Great Desert but one thing was known is that they was not going to get it without a fight if the Songhai had anything to do with it.

These strangers were well organise and started to attack the number of weaker tribes first before the Songhai and their allies could react and help them and then used the those tribes resources to prepare themselves for the battle against the Songhai.

The first day of battle between these two didn't go well Songhai and their allies their warrior was brave and strong but they lacked the teamwork been them and the other tribes because they was a bit to confidence that they defeat these Stranger easily like all other challenges to this area before.

After the battle during the night the leaders of the allied tribes was talked trying to think of what to next. To either continue the battle tomorrow, leave and defend what still got or leave and let each tribe defend their own lands. The leaders debated this until the leader of the Songhai spoke. He was known as one the bravest warriors in area and also being very cunning able spot weak points used them to his advantage and now he had come up with plan which may defeat these strangers but he needed help all the tribe and for them trust their warriors with him. After a lot of talking and arguing they finally agree to try Songhai leader plan.

The follow day battle went a lot better for Songhai and their allies who manage to infect large loss on the strangers and force them back into great desert. The Songhai was victory however after battle them and their allies low on warrior with Songhai having the most warrior. It was decides that after that day defend of the area was to under the Songhai control and cause the tribe to grow and start to become a civilization.
