Finally... after 108 grueling years of bitter defeat, the Chicago Cubs have their day. What a time to be alive.

I'm sorry, but we were waiting longer.
Don't worry, the Indians probably win within the next 40 years. The Cubs' loss streak will never be broken.
See that? Yeah, that right there is why I'm so annoyed right now.
But now that the Cubs are winners, they're not going to get that same love that they've been receiving for the past century. Now the Indians are the new underdogs to root for, so they're going to inherit the fandom.
In all seriousness, this is probably going to work out in your favor. For the longest time, the Cubs had been THE team to root for, because they were the perpetual underdog. Outside of Chicago, even the most avid fans of their home team secretly rooted for the Cubbies.

Before this thread I never saw anyone calling them the cubbies.
Hmm I just assumed from your hatred that you were a WHITE SOX fan.Why are you assuming I'm an Indians fan?
A Californian complaining about St. Louis smugness? Really? Why are you assuming I'm an Indians fan? When I can just as easily (and actually am) a bitter Giants fan who just despises the Cubs fanbase. They're #3 on the hateability index, after the Cardinals and the Red Sox. At least they were before they won. It remains to be seen what happens now that they are the mutant combination of smug ******* "we root for baseball better than you do" of the Cardinals and the "Oh pity us loveable losers who actually win a crapton and are total dicks about it" of the BoSox piled on top of the Drunk douchey fratboy that was the core identity of the Cubs fanbase before this. It's a trifecta of hateability.
