Where do you guys have the slider in the beginning of the game and at the end of the game. I usually go for a time or cultural victory.

When I check the other civs when I'm nearing then end date they almost always have their cities generating wealth, but I don't know what percentage the Culture/Tech thing is set to.

What do you guys recommend?

Tech%... generally as high as you can and still be making money
(Exceptions: if you are trying to save up to buy something....Rush build, buy a tech/diplomatic agreement, or an upgrade.... Also run it so that you are losing money if you have a big full treasury with nothing particularly useful to do with it.)

Culture %... generally 0
(Exceptions: you are going for a culture win, or you don't want to bother with Caste system/rushing a Theatre to get new cities expanded, or you need the happiness)

I generally run the tech slider as high as possible until I get banking, then I start backing it off so I can stay ahead (or at least keep up) in tech and have plenty of money left over to rush things.

Sometimes I bump the culture slider up a notch or two to deal with war weariness, other than that generally zero (unless going for a culture win)

I've been playing with custom maps and I'm starting in the future age. When I start out I have my culture cranked to 100% for a few rounds then back it off. I wondering where you guys have it when you've got all your techs and are into the future techs.

Do you get more happiness each time you go up a future tech or just the first time?
