Cumulative PM-based History Quiz III

Maybe it's just the summer reducing participation.

Does anybody know why the animals in coats of arms so often stick out their tongues?

I think anyone that actively posts in the history part of the forum is not going to be put off by a long thread, actually anyone interested in history may be more likely to take part!

Sorry for not attempting the first two parts steph but i had absolutly no idea, at all!

Thanks for the quick responses. :)

The current table goes like this:

Illdisposed: 71
Innonimatu: 55
Cheezy the Wiz: 34
Dutchfire: 31

I think some of you should at least guess the composers - they are all famous and I'm sure you have heard of them all. You could pick up a few points. :)

4 points away from 33%, I'll try to get some more points soon :)

Spoiler :
Number 4 is Pericles. I think N6 is Marcus Aurelius. I also think N3 to be Homer.

Moderator Action: I put it in spoilers for fairness.

This is quite a good quiz and I will take on it if it is still open when I return from my vacation on the 5th of August.
As with the previous one I think it might have been useful if the quizmaster could set a deadline for entries.
PS: My compliments for the new format in #3!

Thanks for the compliments. :)

I think I will set the deadline as Thursday 7th of August 12am British time.

If anyone is on holiday and wishes for me to extend that a bit later so they can take part, then I can.

P.S. Sorry if I havn't marked any recently, I've been a bit busy. I should get around to marking the rest in my inbox later tonight.

I'm very glad to find such a fun quiz awaiting my return. And hey, nothing at all in OT to distract me. The world is as it should be.

Thanks for all the compliments and replies guys. :)

Sorry I've not marked the current quiz answers in my PM box - but I am doing it now.

I've actually just realised that I've miscalculated the music question (doh!).

It should be out of 24 points, sorry.

Which brings the quiz total to 113.

Thanks for all the replies. The new score table is as follows:

1)Steph 81
2) Taliesin 73
3) Innonimatu 72
4) Illdisposed 71
5) Sydhe 66
6) Plotinus 48
7) Cheezy the Wiz 35
8) Dutchfire 31

If the contest is still open I will be more than happy to try to take the burden off you.

Sorry I havn't closed the quiz when I said I would - I think I chose a really bad time to close the quiz since I have been exceptionally busy with my birthday and work and such.

I'll set a new deadline of the 12th and I will have everyone marked and the results posted by then, if that is okay with everyone and there are no objections?

Do you still plan to close ithe quiz today? If so, no worries.

If not, I'd like to submit, but will need a few days to get to it. Still catching up all the things left to languish while I was on vacation.

Well, if you would like to submit then I can extend it once more. :)

I would certainly like to have it closed before I go on holiday though (but there is plenty of time before then).

If I close the quiz once you have submitted and I post the final results up then, then I'm sure everyone would be okay with that, unless there are objections?

That's OK with me.
However, assuming that you received my PM yesterday, do you mind publishing my score?
