Cumulative PM-based History Quiz III

I am aware that this is developing into a travesty, but I still lack the time and energy to go on with this. I am not going to miss 2008.
I will try to get a quiz posted around Christmas.

Hey, anyone interested in resurrecting this one?

If nothing happens within the two next weeks, I might post a small quiz. Don't expect high quality though.

Alrighty then, I'll see what I can do. I hope to have it up after the weekend. Can't promise anything though.

Nice to see you again, compatriot! Hope your stay will last long!

Ok, here's some questions for you. I hope I found a good mix of easy and hard questions. Hopefully there aren't any mistakes. Can't guarantee anything though. Also, this is a rather short quiz, just to get things started again...

I'm not sure whether I will give much feedback on your PMs or not. Depends on how busy I will be next week. Deadline for sending your answers will be on Sunday in one week. Hope to see many participants! If you don't want me to put you in the scoreboard-list, please tell me in the PM.

Spoiler The Questions :

1. Place all the statements/events/pics on the map with their corresponding numbers. There's no need to give the answers; only a-1, b-2 etc. 1 point for each correct answer.

Dutchfire is the first to submit, scoring 10 points.

Dutchfire 10

The second participant, Yeekim, jumps into the lead with 20 points!

Two persons joins the fray: Taliesin with 15 points, and BananaLee with 26!

BananaLee 26
Yeekim 20
Taliesin 17
Dutchfire 10

I noticed now that the quiz is very Eurocentric. For that I apologize. Also, 6b and 7 seems to be a bit hard; don't despair if you don't know them. ;)

Edit: Taliesin improves his score with 2 points.

Atticus takes the second with 22 points!

BananaLee 26
Atticus 22
Yeekim 20
Taliesin 17
Dutchfire 10

The man with the many avatars, Dachs, is the first one to nail question 1. He got 28 points in total.

Dachs 28
BananaLee 26
Atticus 22

Edit: BananaLee improves his score with 4 points, thereby taking over the lead again!

BananaLee 30

I'm showing the finger to you now, Dachs! :D

I gave the wrong name for question Three.. I feel such a fool now.. Haha

Revenge is sweet for Dachs - he improved his score with 6 points. Innonimatu takes the fourth place with 23 points, while Sydhe jumps in at third place with 26 points!

By the way, there's one thing about this quiz I'm want to hear your opinion on:

2) The highest scorer gets to set the next round of questions, unless he also set the previous quiz.
Would it be better to leave an open floor after a quiz? With the current rules, the people who "never" get a high score will never get the chance to make a quiz (like myself). It was due to the open floor I got to make this one... Also, it seems that some of the top players were a bit tired of making yet another quiz, so maybe a little rotation wouldn't hurt. :)

Hmm, I'd give preference to the winner of the last quiz to make a new one, and if they don't reply in, say, 48 hours, automatically open the floor. That's what is done in most other quizzes here, though of course this quiz requires way more preparation.

Submitted. :D
Thanks for an enjoyable quiz!

Regarding rules, how about this:

Go by ranking: the winner has 48 hours to state whether he will be able and willing to post a new quiz. If he won't/can't, the runner-up gets asked, and so on down the ranking.
Whoever is then 'up', having stated he will do it, has a week to post a quiz. Only after that is the floor open.

This way the incentive to answer and get a good score remains and we have a good chance (I hope!) to keep the ball rolling in a timely way.

Dragonlord joins the upper echelon with 25 points!

Dachs 34
BananaLee 30
Sydhe 26
Dragonlord 25
Innonimatu 23
Atticus 22
Yeekim 20
Taliesin 17
Dutchfire 10

I have got many good suggestions for 6b, but no one has got the correct reason yet. I think I will give you the name of the 5 persons in 48 hours, and a couple of hints in addition. I won't give any points for those who answers 6a after that.

I like your suggestion, Dragonlord. Any objections to it, or should we amend rule #2?
