Nobody got the answer I was looking for, which was Shang-Ti. But then again I only learned about this recently. After checking it up a bit more I gave out a half point here and there.

Shang ti is the specific Chinese term for the Christian god, and not for any particular Chinese god(s) AFAIK...

Florida. It was bought by the US (like Louisiane before that), probably to avoid having a foreign part of the continent near them. Actually as someone mentioned it was Spanish before becoming English so you can imagine how it went back and forth...

Nikita Khrutchov. I don't think Brejnev even went to New York so he was definitely out.

4/ What's the meaning of "Rum" in the Seldjukids of Rum ?

Means Rome because they occupied former Byzantine (= Rome) lands.

5/ What organization was the ancestor of EEC ?

The Economic community for Coal and Steel since these were, at the time, the most important industrial products and that they concerned very much the area between Belgium, France and Germany.

6/ What major victory of the Mongols over Europeans in 1241 turned out to be fruitless because of political troubles within the Mongol Empire ? Bonus : Who was on the loser side ?

Actually there were two : one in Liegnitz against Polish and Germans. The second against the Hungarians at Sajo was actually the closest time) to the political troubles that made the Mongols go back East. I considered both to be correct.

7/ What was the main source of income for Philippe II's Spain : the gold of America or the taxes from the Dutch cities ?

The Dutch cities, the richest area of Europe at the time with over 200 cities, including the large harbor of Antwerpen which monopolized largely the trade of Northern Europe with the newly discovered continents. Basically it gave the crown about 7 times more money that the gold from America whose influence should then be somewhat limited.

8/ What are/were the "Luddists" ?

The industrialization of England created some dramatic social changes. The use of machines was then feared because they were considered to deprive workers from their jobs by replacing them. Ludd was one leader of a revolt that broke down machines because of that. Hence the name Luddists.

9/ What country (apart from England) tried to establish a colony in Australia ?

France lol BTW there was a question in a former quizz about the Encounter Bay (hint, hint !)

10/ What was the official reason for Roma to act against the Illyrians between the two first Punic wars ? Bonus : name one of the famous Illyrian leaders of that time.

Because Illyrian monarchs had created a powerful fleet, that acted with some Greek cities to develop a strong piracy economy, blocking trade between Italy and Greece. The widow queen Teuta was the one I really expected and most mentionned her name.

For question 1; albeit Cornwallis' surrender in Yorktown was extremely important, I really thought Saratoga was the turning point of the war, Yorktwon "just" being its continuity. But fine
