Current (SVN) development discussion thread

No probs Leoreth but thanks for considering them, and rock on! Btw feel free to pm me if you ever want help with some icons and stuff - I did a bunch of civic buttons for RoM a while ago.

Oh, that could definitely come in handy somewhere :)

I'll get back to you then.

No probs these are civic icons I did before!

They look great!

Yep I think i got more Leoreth, but if you want any you can just pm me or discuss if you have new ones you need etc. Happy to help (i work in graphics/film etc) but ive got a bit of spare time hehe i can contribute towards me ol' fav mod!

@AdrienIer: DoC is english only, you have to change the language ;)

You're absolutely right, but I'm certain my game was in English yesterday. It seems to have auto-changed the language back to French during the night somehow !

It sometimes changes after an SVN-Update, it happens to me sometimes too.

I find the 1rst Congolese goal to be very dependent on how the reformation goes : on my first game most countries adopted it and I got to almost 25% of the votes, but this time only the Vikings did (and even though I couter-reformed Mbanza Congo got Protestantism in it) so I only got to 8.5%. Dunno how to make it less luck dependent though...

Wasn't the reformation popup limited to european civs? Or did I understand it wrong?
In my game I never had the reformation popup...but I'm not sure if protestantism had been already founded when i first met Portugal.

I just wanted to say, the Moors and Congolese really add to the unique historical flavor of DoC (as the Polish did, and of course the other nations RFC lacked).
This brilliant mod keeps getting better and better! I also like the think-tank-like ambience in this subforum. Everyone seems to have some great suggestions for further improvement and Leo is such an open-minded person to include things he likes/thinks that are usefull for the mod!
Also, the general conversational tone in this sub-forum is really friendly and casual ... I dunno if it's just me, but that is some really rare thing on internet forums, which are generally full of sarcastic jerks and haters.

-> :)

Those buttons look %#£*$ sexy Lawrie!

Spoiler :
...and that's about about as wild as it gets in the all-veagan super-happy rainbow-loving eco-friendly fun zone that is the DoC subforum ^^

I agree, I really like to hang out here ;)

Seriously, without the constant activity in this forum, no matter if it's constructive critique or new suggestions, I wouldn't get half the work done. So please keep up too :goodjob:

Rest of the internet, is it you? :borg: ...

Yeah, I remember when iOnlySignIn first started posting here,
people were telling him to tone it down.
Now he's more mellow than a Marshmallow Peep

I admit, this subforum is generally so mellow,
you'd think it were an online hookah lounge.

Amen brother!

P.S. You can take it as you wish, but no religious bias intended.

Awe thanks guys, i mean i did a pile of them for RoM a while ago (and a mod mod i was trying to do but couldnt boo... it all related to civics) If you guys ever need the actual graphics for use, let me know, happy to share (folks can use what they want etc.)

I just wish I had more time to mod graphics etc boo, but can help a bit if needed.

Hmm, I just played another Congo game where I had made well over 1000g from the slave trade--this time I made around 2000g--and the goal failed. Am I the only one experiencing this? The amount I made just doesn't seem to matter. It even had a check-mark before the goal failed.

EDIT: If the goal is not finished UHV wise, and just there for testing, I should note goal 2 is a moderately easy. I would raise the goal to something between 1400-1800.

Well, now that you've put it that way...

Leoreth! Do the new Roman UP!

Leoreth! Do the new French UP!

Oh I just... choose to omit my replies and/or vent my feelings elsewhere.

Seriously, some of the replies I've got here (I won't say which) have made me go like:

Link to video.

But I'm now content to follow up with mild, thickly veiled sarcasm that are typically overlooked.

What, so the sub-goal tracker went green but the goal itself didn't count?

And you're right, I think I'll raise it to 1500g.

Well, now that you've put it that way...

I haven't forgotten that (the problem with your suggestions though is that you lay out so many good possibilities that it's hard to decide ;)). I even think I'll do that right after my current thing, before I do the barbarian overhaul.
