Ýay, Gran Columbia! Not a Maya respawn, judging by the colour.
Oh, they are a Maya respawn. Keeping the color is not a necessity.

And the leader is Simon Bolivar. Cookies for the first to guess whose personality I used for him :mischief:

Ah, didn't know that. I assumed from Mexico, Iran, and possibly Italy (I can never get straight how exactly they are related to the Romans in the mod) it had to be the same colour.

As for his personality... Simon Bolivar from Civ4Col? :p

I don't have Civ4Col ;)

Anyways, the revision with Colombia has been committed. Full stats:

Spawn: 1814 AD
Capital: Bogotá
Leader: Bolivar
Unique Unit: Albion Legion (Grenadier with 2 movement, starts with City Raider I)
Unique Building: Hacienda (Grocer with +25% gold with Coffee)
Unique Power: The Power of the Liberator: No resistance in conquered cities in Latin America
Unique Historical Victory:
- Allow no European colonies in Latin America in 1860 AD
- Control South America in 1920 AD
- Acquire 5000 gold by selling resources by 1950 AD

What counts towards the 3rd goal? Would selling techs and maps contribute for instance? Slaves? Or just trading resources for gold-per-turn agreements?

Is there any chance you could change the South American UBs to provide Yield bonuses instead of Commerce bonuses? That would make them more distinct from each other as well as more realistic IMO.

For example:

Columbian UB: +1 :hammers: for all Plantations and Mines in the city's radius.

Brazilian UB: +1 :commerce: for all Plantations and Farms in the city's radius.

Argentine UB: +1 :food:, +1 :commerce: for all Pastures in the city's radius.

Yeah, it's a leader from BtS. Contacting Bolivar in game with sound on counts as cheating by the way :mischief:

All gold-per-turn agreements. Is there anything else but resources? It's intended to only count resource deals.

I thought that was your intent. It is possible to demand gold-per-turn also though (from a weaker civ) or be gifted gold-per-turn from a friendly civ. Would these be differentiated in any way from the selling of resources?

Since Iran (being a respawn) is playable from the 1700 A.D., will Mexico and Columbia ever be?

I think a very big reason for India's tech rate is that they start with Iron Working. This gives them fast access to Compass which they often get before China (or anyone else) does.

Some adjustments may be needed. India spawns around the same time as Greece (who starts with Bronze Working instead of Iron Working), and yet with the same tech as Rome (Iron Working).

Since India spawns in 1500BC (Late Harappan/Early Vedic) they should be starting with Bronze Working rather than Iron Working. Moreover what they need is Axemen to defend against Persia, not Swordsmen.

I would also like to see a new UU for India, in addition to my 33 Devas UHV idea. Fast Worker is actually more boring in RFC than in vanilla BTS because India is a builder civ rather than a conqueror civ. Fast Worker becomes a meaningful advantage only when you're war mongering.

India IRL entered the Iron Age ~1200 BC which is much faster than they can research, also they

As blizzrd says you can extort or be gifted gold, or you can get it as part of a peace deal / capitulation. Tho' I reckon resources will be by far the biggest contributor.

The XML doesn't allow that currently.

Oh, that's true. It's hard to find out the exact source of periodic income though ... so I guess I'll just broaden the goal description.

Will i have to restart my game for these changes to take place?
One restart of the game itself would be necessary for the XML changes to take effect, but you should be able to continue your saved game and Colombia would still appear.

I'm going to guess........ Napoleon.
Right! Have a cookie ;)

They are playable ;)

But if you mean selectable from the start, no. Making a civ selectable from the start is possible because it circumvents the normal autoplay system.

Just started playing as the French on the 1700 CE scenario on Marathon and got the message that I'd failed to first UHV condition (25,000 culture in Paris) at the end of the first turn. Might be an issue only in Marathon, since on Marathon the scenario starts in 1699.
