It makes sense if there are European cities there, or Mexico and Peru are vassals, but the year is 1400 and I as Japan am the only nation with astronomy. I have two cities on the west coast, and both Aztecs and Incas are my vassal. Yet protestants are taking over. I went into the world builder and changes it to Confucianism.

Well, it's appropriate that they settle Siberia from western Russia, so I'd say that's WAD.

In terms of balance, I've never seen the AI make a decent Russian empire.

The change of the tech penalty to be based on population instead of the number of cities has benefited Russia a lot. AI Russia also benefits from the new stability and collapse mechanics that allow them to immediately return when the Mongol Empire collapses.

You don't know how much of a hassle it is to be on your phone and constantly forget to switch between the English and German autocorrection.

I assume he's afraid that the SVN version he starts his game with has a game-breaking bug or crash that prevents him from finishing. I'd say it's pretty unlikely, but I can't rule it out. Obviously I can't rule it out for released versions either, because it's not as if those go through some sort of enhanced quality control.
