Czechs to change their name?

Actually, historically the Crown of Bohemia consisted of 4 states:
1) - the Kingdom of Czechia
2) - the Margraviate of Moravia
3) - the March of Lusatia (in some periods only)
4) - the Duchy of Silesia (in some periods only)
I don't understand why the word "Czechia" is unknown for most of native English-speakers.
In Poland we commonly call this state "Czechy" (in English: "Czechia"), rather than "Republika Czeska" (in English: "Czech Republic").
Of course modern Czech Republic includes historical regions of Czechia, Moravia as well as part of historical Silesia.

I suggest corridor to Croatia as was the post WWI demand of Czechs then. Austria is that corridor...
And one more corridor to Brusel as we need better comunication with the EU central. It will have to cut through the Germany obviously dividing the country in Northern and Southern Germany and it should include our ancestral land of Luxembourg...
You have a point. I may like English Czechia more but in Czech Česká republika sounds better then just Česko.
I like Europa Universalis series but Sudetland is not a proper region. Not ever since the Germans have left...
After this upcoming election when left is going to prevail we may as well change the name to Peoples socialist republic of Czechia.
After annexing Silesia, Slovakia and northern parts of Austria-Hungary I wouldnt mind calling it Great Moravia.

Federal Republic of Czechia, Moravia, Silesia and Lusatia would be better. "Sudetenland" is an artificial region created by Nazi propaganda.
The name Bohemia is not a synonym / replacement for the name Czechia.
Actually, the Crown of Bohemia included Czechia, together with Moravia, Lusatia and Silesia.
We are just not much of a big fans of a Catholic church - besides that we believe in lots of things....

Hi there Domen. Exhaustive as usual, I see. Good on you. Tunnel is very popular term in here, especialy in economical sense but tunnel through some coal mines in Silesia isnt such a bad idea I suppose...

As a Czech myself I vote for Czech Republic. Czechia sounds just weird.

Maybe we could call it The Kingdom of Heaven on Earth? But the name is not that important (as long as it is called The Great Bohemia) but it could be an interesting project in the central Europe if some of the obvious obstacles could be surmounted.... and of course we would need at least two corridors: to Croatia(by annexing Austria) and to Serbia (by annexing whats left of Hungary)

It should be /o/, at least according to the Wiki page concerning vowels in the Czech language; when I pronounce it, it is more closed than when I pronounce /ɔ/ in English. I've never had a good ear for vowels though, so you may be right. Of course in normal speech it is slightly reduced, we don't say Českooo or ČeskO, the rounding of the lips is sometimes almost non-existent.
I also used the wrong E, so it should be more like /ˈt͡ʃɛsko/ in phonemic transcription. But I am not that of a linguist to say I am 100% sure
