Essentially i worked on LM Desert. But for the moment, the result is not satisfying. My goal is to have LM Desert for Badlands or rocky desert.
i don't expect modifying other LM tiles for now, even if i also regret the lack of steppes tiles.

My latest advances were on Savage coast area. I expect to finish yazak steppes, arm of the immortals and savage coast areas soon soon.

i won't have internet acces back for 10-15 days; so u won't see me often till this moment. :(

@Arghis: I was wondering what LM terrains you currently are working on. Were you making the rocky desert in the Great waste with the LM Desert? I need to know so that I can finalize the terrains in the editor. If your not sure, but you plan to edit the LM-grassland and LM-plains as well I have a request for the grassland part. I could use steppes for the Ethengar region. It is supposed to be steppes and grassland. For the plains, I think you were on to something with those badlands graphix, just get them in the LM plains file and then if your not to busy, could you post a shot of any of these terrains you are working on? Just curious so I know what I'm working on. No rush since I know your on holiday. I'll move the finalizing of the terrain down the list a little and start woking the units and their upgrade paths, etc. I never knew units could be so much work. :crazyeye:

No problem about the steppes. I will start a graphix request thread next week with many things I need that I may not be able to do myself, and I'll throw in the LM plains and LM grasslands. I'll wait and see what you manage to come up with for LM Desert. The LM Sea by the way is perfect. I would like that for the mod for sure. Later on if you have time the LM Hills could be made into some type of spired rock land or wintery hills. I'll let you choose since you are in charge of the maps and that way you can make what you need. I'll put off working on terrains for now, and wait to see what you come up with. As I'm sure I've sadi before, I prefer quality of speed so take whatever time you need. :goodjob:

Don't worry if you think of something after the mod is released, we can always do an update, which I'm sure we will do a few due to the glitches the testers miss and the constant updating of the civilopedia which I won't do until the beta is released. ;)

I'm wondering if anyone thinks I should keep this title screen or should I just scrap it and make a new one. Nobody seems to have noticed it, or has this thread been thrown into the ignore list.

Scrap and make a new one :p Seriously, look for a pic that has full resolution (1024x768 or bigger), so it doesn't look blurry. Small pics resized to big ones look ugly. I'm certain there are plenty of D&D pics in high resolution.

I wish I could make a start screen for warhammer, but Games Workshops prohibits any use of their graphics :( (and they *do* prosecute the law). Especially sad since their pics are awesome.

Yikes. I'll remember that then. It is tough to find big enough pictures. I have a site with tons of them, but most are too thin. I really like this one, but I'll do another then, this one will be for my private collection. :groucho:

hi ! Internet access is back - it's hard to live without it when u're used to it.

Well here is LM Sea modified to be some kind of ice Sea. Here u see the area near Frosthaven (north part of norwold, above Alpha)

I've made 30 icebergs on the 62 tiles for LM Sea. i'm not sure if it's needed to make all tiles with an iceberg. I have more or less 25 different image for icebergs, so it will obliged me to put two times the same image. This can be repetitive for the eye.

The numbers are just temporary (it helps me understand, if it's possible, how the game draw tiles - so far i don't really understand, just have a rough idea).

Also i've corrected the color table, so now the blocks of ice looks nice (i don't think you'll see that on the screenshot)

I have now a better idea on how to modify LM desert for instance. i'll try that later.

well here is how it looks when u paint a large area with this LM Sea modification.

(numbers are temporary)

i still have to make some slight change, cause some blocks doesn't fit well, imho. But nothing serious i think.

Here u can imagine using iceberg to blockade a sea area (alternating LM Sea and normal sea)

As i said, half the n° of tiles are changed. i think that if i add more icebergs, it won't be good. i'll make a try, by duplicating present graphics, just to sea

sorry, i uploaded wrong img. i've corrected this now

well, this is a nice babe, but i think u could use a more generic painting, like those gazeeter cover for example.

Seeing several kind of characters over a fantastic background will be more convincing. Not that i do not appreciate fantasy babes, ... but ... :crazyeye: it's a bit out of the subject

interesting, yes.

i was expecting doing some revamping on map buildings, but as it's not an important point, i've putted it at the end of my "to do" list.

this one can make it. some details are to be corrected i think. one hut is too big. two huts image are not easily recognizable. ... nothing dramatic

@Arghis: Whern you get back here is a possible option for goody huts. I like it. More variety for the game.

Compiled Goody Huts

I'll leave the goody huts and the terain graphix up to you for now. You've already done more than I would have imagined possible. That has more than earned my trust with you on that for sure.

I have some ideas for what to do with the airport and radar tower graphix, but I'm still gettitng the hang of the transparency thing.

Title screens are much easier than that. I'll post some pictures today or tomorrow of possible title screens. That way I can get a better idea on what poeple out their would like to see. I'll probably post a link here and start a seperate thread to get a poll to tally the votes for me. Soon as I narrow the 100 pictures available to me down to a few. At least only 20. I'm shooting for 4 though.

I think the fantasy babe title screen had cast a spell on me, because I just couldn't take my eyes off that set of...
I mean her. :satan:

thx. for your transparency prob, u could send me the img and i'll correct the way you want. i'm impatient to see the unit in action and to began testing the mod (even if i'm more and more bored by the IA - i hope we can find some players to test by PBEM or I Connexion).

i also want to make some more precise maps, after the first two, for having small (sized) scenarii on specific areas. But that's another story.

i totally agree ! those (.)(.) are hypnothysing ! héhé ! :nuke: :jump:

I actually am too amatuer to do too much. Mostly I just add some text, but none of my pictures I have really fit, so I have to resize and then clean them up before I put text on them. Mostly like restoration work than actual artist work. I figured out a way to resize pictures without the blur problem I had with the last one. After a new picture is chosen for the title screen I will be able to make it better quality than the jug queen above.
This title screen thing has been good for lifting my spirits a little, I found something constructive for the mod and got away from typing all those units in the editor. So much info. I can't wait to do text files. :p

Below is the link to my title screen poll. If anyone wants to vote, please do. I figure my taste might not be at everyone's interests at heart so maybe a vote by everyone who is waiting for this mod will help with deciding which picture could be used.

I was wondering. Maybe I could combine Alfhiem and Wendar since Alfhiem is very small and doesn't survive the plague that the Shadow Elves caused. Most Elves from the region either reastablished themselves in the Atruaghin Forests or migrated through Ethengar to Wendar. Arghis had mention Ochalea as an oriental type civ, but there is another one on the other side of Hule in Brun that would have more space and is actually larger than Hule and could be like China. I could take out Alfhiem and make that civ instead or find one on Skothar, which isn't very crowded. There seems to be a project going on on the Mystara.Fr.St site that is making Skothar more Asian based. Any Suggestions?

I won't change the overview just yet, but I was thinking of lightening the load in Brun and moving some civs like Karameikos, Alfhiem, and Graakhalia to other places. My ideas are below.

Alfhiem - Religious / Scientific - The elven kingdom surrounded by Darokin. (Located in Brun)
Graakhalia - Militaristic / Scientific - An underground kingdom of elves and gnolls in the Great Waste. (Located in Brun)
Karameikos - Industrious / Militaristic - A mercanary kingdom that was once free and now ruled by a Thyatian Duke. (Located in Brun)

Take the above out and add these below.

Kwythellar - Scientific / Militaristic - An elven kingdom north of Duargor that still blames humans for the destruction of the Elven homeland. (Located in Davania)
Thoth-Ath - Militaristic / Religious - A mostly Gnoll nation, that is coexisting with the Jennites who are homeless due to constant invasion from Alphatia. (Located in Skothar)
Zuyevo - Militaristic / Expansionist - This nation of refugees from the historical wars of Norwald against great Humanoid armies have settled in the Mountainous regions of Skothar and Western Brun. (Located in Skothar on World Map, and in Brun on Known World Map)

Any opinions on this idea? If not then I will change it later today.

Scrap Alfheim, Keep Karameikos. Neither opinion on Graakhalia. Brun is somewhat crowded, but Karameikos will strike a nostalgic chord in just about any D&D player over 25.

My 2 cents.

i've finished south part of Davania. i used Geoff Gander maps, found on Starflung, to have a more precise view of the area.

Some details are to be corrected, but it should be ok like this

@ aaglo : thx, i still have to finish (polish) this sea tile, even if it's ok for the essential. i'll post later my definitive icebergs.

As for the east part of Vulcania peninsula, you've already seen it here, and it has not dramatically changed.
Here is the west part. the south aprt of Cestia island is lacking for now, and i will adjust some minor point later, but here it is as it is (wow ! not sure if this has a meaning in english, but it sounds good ):D
