Good idea embryodead. They would be good slann? I cna't rememmber now what you called them. They would make good were rats too if downsized a bit. That would make them for Glantri and Malpheggi then.

@Isak: don't worry about being behind on that. I've been behind due to my work lately. Tons of overtime, but that makes getting that laptop I need that much closer, then I will really be able to work on this faster. And finish some more stories for my books.

I realize I do talk to much, no need to answer that. My friends made me the DM for that reason, I like to talk. In fact my first day on this forum I posted 20 times because I was excited to find this place and a thread on the Lord of the Rings. :)

ratmen = skaven. slann are the frogs :)
I'm not sure yet, will have to decide after resising (if feline legs are too visible then it would be kind of strange rat).

If your good at resizing units, I was wondering if you had time to resize this so I could have a kender unit. Kender are halflings.

Kender Unit already on its way.

Yeah, off and on. I've been thinking of putting together a Dragonlance mod. But, not sure if I have the time. I know nothing about your Mysteria or whatever.

Krynn is similiar except Kender are usually called Hin and they don't suffer from wanderlust. Dragons are still smart, but not organized into armies with Draconians which aren't in Mystara as far as I am aware. The Gods are different too. I think Krynn might be smaller, but not sure about that. I was thinking of doing a Krynn scenario mself, but I probably won't. I have a few friends that would jump on a mod of Dragonlance and play it to death.

Hi

The new bonus grasslands is fine. i think with the old one (with a small hill) players could mistake it for hills variant. Well not such a problem.

i've made some slight change to coastal / sea / ocean tiles, to includes whales, squids, dolmphins and squids (i was was bored by so much blue horizons ! ) which gave the following results :

:goodjob:

:hmm: That is pretty cool. I would never have thought to add animals as just part of the watery background. Very old world mappish like. :goodjob:

Your attention to detail on these maps are quite impressive. I'm almost done with setting up the unit lines for each of the civs :crazyeye:. I'm going to be working on figuring out some techs for resources, worker actions, and units. I'm making an extras units line for units to be built by wonders or improvements or somthing. Mages would be built by mage towers, Centaurs from some wonder I haven't found a name, Winged Sylvan Elves form the Rainbow...I forgot what that was called, I will have to do research when I get to that point. Some of my plans is to require certain techs to cut down forests, plant forest and build mines so that I can make them civ-specific with civ-specific techs. Only elven civs will be able to plant forests, only dark, evil, or dwarven civs will cut down trees so they can build mines, etc. I'll figure it out when I get there, just some ideas floating around in my head. :)

As you can see in this post I still have a ton of work to do. I'm teaching a friend of mine some things so they can help with research and they will probably do the tech tree for me, once I have the techs assigned to their eras. I've been thinking about the LM Hills. If you think they aren't useful we could change them to something like what embryodead did in his War Hammer mod. I believe he made some snowy hills, and they could be used for the northern regions like Norwald to make it look colder. What do you think? Unless you found a good use for the Roughland type terrain. I am going to change some of the properties for the terrains eventually to encourage the AI to use them they way they should as elves spread their forests and humans irrigate everything and dwarves mine everywhere. And orcs just cut everything down and dig holes(mines).

thx. i'm still lokking for others pretty little gfx addition like this.

About LM hills, yes i think we can do something else with them. i'll make some test later.

Wonders allowing building of special units is a very interesting point (as wealready said).

of my plans is to require certain techs to cut down forests, plant forest and build mines so that I can make them civ-specific with civ-specific techs.

yes. i'm not sure to see how to do this

Only elven civs will be able to plant forests, only dark, evil, or dwarven civs will cut down trees so they can build mines, etc. I'll figure it out when I get there, just some ideas floating around in my head.

yes. that's an important point.

Don't worry, I'll figure out the trick to allowing only certain worker actions to certain civs. It will complicate the tech tree, but only for the one creating it. The civs who can't build mines will not have a tech available to them that will allow it. :).

Here are some icebergs to add some flavour to the great blue.

i'm changing LM sea tiles (will also be LMOcean if needed) to incules many different kind of floating ice blocks.

N.b. : gfx are still a bit rough, i'll correct this later. modifying flat terrain tiles (in opposition to hills/forest/mountains is far more tricky than what i was expecting ; there is many many combinations)

Here's a glimpse of what result you can achieve. (North part of norwol, above Alpha, near Frosthaven)

i will make too LM sea; one with Icebergs everywhere, one as u see here with just icebergs here and there.

My problem for now is understanding how the game decide to put one tile or another. it seems to me that it is a random process.

so, sa i said, i encounter many problems realizing a good and nice LMdesert (for rockier desert for instance).

here is a snap of what i've made and that i think is usable. it's not excellent, but the way tile repeat themselves make it very hard to have some good results (when u use big rocks or special hills); the result is too often sad and ugly.

On this csreen shot u can also notice a small wreck of a ship, near the coast. Sea is a dangerous place.

Your Icebergs are cool, certainly better than mine... :) How the tiles are positioned isn't random, well sort of is, but it's programmed randomness ;) You can download my update for C3C Winter Terrain to use as reference, I tried to place the icebergs right in the places game requests them, so that there are least gaps possible:
