Put Army on Defense.

I have change the names of my cities to more native American-like. I have a question. Should I have a galley or a boat?
I'm Seafaring. If not a can deal, just asking.

Hi Blaze,

At the moment, Camps do not give any income, although they can morph into Cities eventually. It might be better just to use Raw points to claim that silver resource (for more Raw points in future)?

I saw Seafaring as your secondary trait, so you don't have any official navy just yet. I am trying to use Civ3+ terminology, so 'Galley' means any kind of ancient boat.

I have changed it & a new map, if thats ok. For my Seafaring trait I need to build my 1st boat? I have 2 land units but no way to get sea sick. :vomit:
I figured I would have at least one boat, but like I said no big deal. The future is as wide as the Odinornakwee Mountians are high.

Question: How far can armies move in one turn? A reasonable range? Specifically, I'm wondering if the armies at Ujad and Ghula can reach my camps?

Daftpanzer: Taoism is absolutely fine; it is what I was going to base my fictional religion off of anyway, so I think that works well. Is Yanshan the Taoist holy city? Can I build a great Taoist shrine or pagoda there, eventually?
Thanks!

Diplomacy:
The King of Jin [pledges, offerings] the chief Ghula eternal friendship. Bunjin and Ghula shall live peaceably, as brothers. Bunjin shall [teach, instruct] Ghula in the True Way [Tao] and Ghula shall [fight, make war] with Jin as brothers.
-Fragmentary written record, discovered by archaeologists in the Yanshan dig.

Command points: Religion. Spread the teachings of the True Way among neighboring peoples.
Raw points: Tinker. Attempt to grow Yanshan into a true city. Investigate the idea of Writing.

@Eltain that is a very important point, I forgot to mention. This game will use a Civ-like time progression, but not such limited movement as in Civ. Armies will be able to travel very far each turn. The only limit is lines of communication, supply etc. And motivating troops to travel that far from home!

So yes they could attack, but again the NPC's will tend to be 'lazy / oppertunistic' rather than 'randomly attacking just to slow down your growth' if you know what I mean.

@ChiefDesigner, you can definately have a holy city but that is something that falls outside the 'hard' rules/stats, it will be one of those subtle things.

PS: if I get a couple more orders I will update today! GUARANTEED

King of all Ghula grants [peace, friend] to one who shall [teach, instruct] [Tao]. King of all Ghula says no more.

-Recent discovery from the Yanshan dig, appears to be a reply to an earlier find.

@lopaz this time I've taken the advice to limit the number of players, sorry. I can put you down as a reserve player if others drop out, or if the updates are easy enough to do, I could try to add more people at once.

Ikraami Orders:

Spoiler :
Command: 1: Create Wonder: Ikra's Art of War (all newly created "armies" start with an extra level of veterancy (star icon) above what it would normally start with.)

Raw: 2: Attempt to claim the "Gold" looking resource to Ikram's southeast.

Army That I Currently Possess: Defensive mode halfway between Ikram and Hania. Respond to barbarian attacks accordingly.

BTW, what's the greenish rock thing I have control of, near Ikram?

Economy options

build cities: Build one new city for every three Eco points, but you can always build a minimum of one. A new city should be placed in territory that is well under your control/influence. The new city can give you one extra Eco on subsequent turns, but again, your Eco income cannot exceed your Raw income. If you don't have enough Raw to support more cities, maybe claim more resources or make a deal with someone who has an excess...

Eco points used to build a city: does that mean upgrading a camp to a city or does that mean building a 'de nuvo' city without first building a camp in that location?

Tirza: Nuclear Kid
Culture: Hebrew, Ottoman, with Roman aspects
Traits: Militaristic, Industrious
Com / Raw / Eco: 1 / 2 / 0
Military: 2 Warriors, 2 Archers
Civics: +1 Control, +1 Centralised
Techs: Bronze Working, Masonry
Spoiler :

Spend 2 Raw on tinkering on how to make weapons with Iron
Spend one command point on making a new army

Thanks guys! Update tommorrow as I have to sleep now :(

That's supposed to be copper ore. I know you need tin/other stuff for bronze but hey :)

You can build a 'de nuvo' City in that case, though building over an existing Camp might have hidden benefits, either way a City does everything a Camp does (spawn units, project influence, keep tabs on nearby resources etc).

Wonder when i can join. Will you post something like New Civilization!!! Or will it be PM or somesuch?

A message from the Thugge of Assur
To the Zora

A man wearing extensive veils appears in your court. He claims to be a representative of the Circle Society leadership of Assur. In badly accented Zorite, he offers trade, "Zorites, your nation is one of trade and commerce. As is ours. We wonder if we might work towards establishing caravan trade with one another in the not too distant future?"

EDIT OOC: the goal would be to accelerate trade between our people. Our first concern would be safety and development but once we have that secured, we might want to make us of our commercial trait by developing a 'joint-project'?

IC:

Trade with us, and we will trade with you in all earnest fairness, and wish that prosperity comes to us both. :)
