Darknes: The Darkest Hour

Btw, why do Ottomans have "3" military training? IMHO it would make far more sense if they have training and equipment similar to the Russian stats (2 military training, 3 military equipment) - the situation was quite similar, the Ottomans had less new equipment of their own ofcourse but that was compensated by German technologic assistance.

Álvaro Aureliano, Comandante en Jefe of el Nobles y Grande Armamento of Espana, reporting for duty. Él y de él asombroso mustache deber plomo España a un áureo edad.

Largo Vivo España. Largo Reino España.

Álvaro sat in his quarters, thinking on the events in Europe, about all the men who would die for the power of other. He sat back in his chair and began to mouth words to himself,

" De el vida de man el duración está sino libelo señalar , los suyos sustancia arroyo lejano , los suyos percepción oscuro , el tejido de el entero body propenso hasta pudrición , y el alma libelo vórtice , y fortuna incalculable , y fama incierto. En una palabra todos cosa de el body are tan libelo river , y el cosa de el alma tan libelo soñar y libelo vapor ; y vida está libelo guerra y libelo peregrino estancia , y fama tras death está solamente olvido "

He shook his head. "If you are distressed by any external thing, it is not this thing which disturbs you, but your own judgment about it. And it is in your power to wipe out that judgment now." He repeated from memory. And he set about wiping out that judgement, as he would wipe out his enemies

Also, Dar, I assume that only one map is needed per army per order set? In that case, could I exploit my subordinates because I'm not terribly good with campaign maps, as opposed to andis-1?

You can do whatever you please- assign someone else the responsibilty of making the map if you wish. Just make sure to include it in your pm. Also, I'll admit it: I'm not that sure about the military stats, so I just plagarized Stalin once more. It makes some sense to me since the Ottomans have less troops to train than the Russians, so they can afford to spend more time training them. But I'll check into it and see what I can find

@Swiss: Since Spanish is my weakest field, I'll just sit here semi-confused. Tell me that you used a translator for that......mess......Suffice to say, I am quite confused about the mustache part.

Anyways- I know what the front page says, but there will be some subtle effects of stories in the update. Just to keep things interesting.

Álvaro does love his amazing mustache. And the bottom part in Italics is just some Marcus Aurelius quotes.

YAY FOR STOICISM!!!!

If you are relooking at the nation's stats, I would selfishly suggest taking another look at Serbia. I am unsure of what Serbia did to deserve the worst military training in Europe with a 1 (while every other nation has at least a 2), especially considering 1) their war record in WWI, 2) the fact that many of their officers and units are veterans of the First and Second Balkan War, and 3) the front page in the background section claim (rightly) that they are a regional power yet they have arguably the worst military of any of the Balkan nations. If you must give Serbia a "1" in something, give them a "1" in military equipment and a "2" in training.

Indeed, I think that the gaps in training and equipment for all nations are a bit too big. Training didn't really vary all that much, at least until a few years into the war; and thought Britain, France and Germany had superior equipment, a) it wasn't this far superior and b) they mostly shared it with their less advanced allies. The problems of the Austro-Hungarian and Russian - and Ottoman, thought of them I know less - armies that were often mistaken for "inferior training" were far more often those of organization, leadership and morale; meanwhile, the German military, though not all that far ahead in training, had far better organization and, despite its acknowledgeable problems, superior leadership.

Dieu de dieu, people, hurry up! ThomAnder, I see that you're online, if you accept the plan, quickly PM your approval or post it here! The same goes for the rest of you! I still have to brief my subordinates, and we only have two days left, maybe even less!

Personally I think that another position, Fleet Admiral, should be added. It would allow nations that have multiple fronts (Russia for example fighting in Galicia, East Prussia and the Caucasus) to take some of the strain off and allow for advanced Naval co-ordination in addition to having Land co-ordination.

The positions I've put up or just a general statement. The ci-c can appoint positions as they wish, the only factor requiring is an active player. Just dont go crazy now ;]

ThomAnder, I still need to know where I'm fighting and stuff so that I can make my plans...

Yes yes people, i'm still alive, will send out plans later tonight (like in 15 min when i'm done reading about a journal article about a bacterial protein that causes cancer :p)

You make me very angry, Thom. ;) But ah well, its your turn. I still await confirmations and/or comments from alex994 and Kentharu...
